I am 50 years old. I used to be in this group home back in my teens. I stayed here from 15 to 18. I promise you back then life was different and if it wasn't for the staff there I wouldn't be here now. When I was there we had Ms. Kilgore, Ms. Mitchell and Ms. Westbrook was in Tucker cottage where I was. Rogers, Marshall and Darden cottages were there then. I still use "easily mislead" or "my inconsideration to others and self" I always have to remind myself of my "easily angered" I use these words today. There is a flowerbed at the very edge of the main house yard. I started that flowerbed. If the flowerbed is still there I can honestly say that was my flowerbed. Mr. Kocab and Mr. Tate let me do the flowerbed to keep my mind from wandering and getting myself in more trouble. I am not sure what life is like there nowadays but when I was there it was okay. Nobody wants to be away from their families and it is hard to be there when you look at it that way. Yes, I still got in trouble when I got home for a bit. But I was able to understand what was getting me in those situations. I just wanted to share my story about Jackson-Field Group Home. And a lot of us that were together are still friends to this day. It was a helpful back then.

Great Group Therapy by Sam, Kwazi, and CarrieThey have a mixture of GREAT staff also, like 007 (yes really), Mr. Justus, Ms. Sonia, Ms. Angela, Ms. Brandy, and others too that provide Respect and Treatment of needs during any stay. The Food Prep Team is AMAZING and they do provide an excellent diet tending meal. The furniture could be updated or 'softened' with some throw pillows perhaps to give a little bit more comfort to the patients. After 2 weeks in 1 N I was A) restored in my soul, Faith, and mental health and B) my body rear and back suffered a few days post-visit from the very limited ergonomic comfort I experienced (a good suggestion for improvement). I'm still recovering just a bit but mending well. Gym activity time and outdoor time was very precious and would advise some enhancement for best time value in their care. Poplar Springs is a GOOD place to get adjusted and ready for your Outpatient journey if applicable. With a few simple adjustments, it could be a GREAT Place to get your behavioral health off to a positive start. Recommend this place along with the recommended updates. For as long as I can remember, I've been trapped in a never-ending cycle of addiction. From the medications prescribed to me as a child, to the prescription opiates I graduated to , I've spent my entire life battling demons that I couldn't escape. And even when I finally found myself on Suboxone, a medication meant to save me from the grip of opioids, I realized that I had simply traded one addiction for another. As the months turned into years, I watched in horror as I lost myself piece by piece. My family, who had always been my rock, began to see the mask that I wore to hide the truth of my struggles. They saw the facade crumbling, and they knew that they were losing me. But even though I was still functioning still working, still taking care of my responsibilities I couldn't shake the feeling of hopelessness that had taken over my life. When my family finally confronted me about my addiction, they suggested that I go to a traditional rehab like some of our relatives had done for their struggles with alcohol. But the idea of locking myself away in a facility for months, cut off from the world and forced to endure a brutal detox, was more than I could bear. I had tried a rapid taper from Suboxone before, and the experience had been hellish. The physical withdrawals had been agonizing, and the mental and emotional toll had lingered for months to up to a full year . I knew that I couldn't put myself through that again. From a young age, I had always been drawn to non-traditional approaches to healing. I had a deep distrust of Western medicine and its tendency to mask symptoms rather than address the root causes of illness. And as I struggled with my addiction, this feeling only intensified. I knew that I couldn't continue down the path of taking pill after pill, never really getting better. But I didn't know what other options were available to me.That's when I remembered a documentary that I had seen about ibogaine, a powerful plant medicine that had been used for centuries in rituals in Africa. I had been fascinated by the stories of people who had used ibogaine to overcome addiction, and I couldn't help but feel a spark of hope. But as I began to research, I realized that ibogaine was illegal in the US, and that seeking treatment would mean traveling to a foreign country.Despite my fears, I knew that I had to explore this option. I couldn't continue down the path that I was on, and I was desperate for a way out. So when my family asked me what I wanted to do, I told them about ibogaine. To my surprise, they were open to the idea. They began researching clinics in Mexico, and they quickly stumbled upon the POI Institute. As soon as they spoke with Diane, the founder of the clinic, they knew that they had found the right place. Diane's kindness and compassion came through clearly over the phone, and my family could tell that she was someone who truly cared about helping people heal. They were impressed by the clinic's small size and focus on individualized care, and they felt confident that I would be in good hands. As soon as I arrived at the clinic, however, my fears began to melt away. The facility was beautiful, with lush gardens and a peaceful atmosphere that immediately put me at ease. They even had a resident pup named Poppy and a cat named Reese. And from the moment that I met Diane and her husband George, I knew that I was in the right place. They greeted me with warm smiles, open arms, and they made me feel like I was family. My nurse Chuy, monitored my health as I began the process of tapering off subs. He was kind, non-judgmental , and quite the chef. When I finally emerged from the ibogaine experience, I was shocked by how clear and focused I felt. I had no cravings, and I felt no withdrawal symptoms. It was as if the medicine had reset my brain and body, giving me a fresh start. I am finally living the life that I deserve. And it's all thanks to the power of ibogaine, and the incredible team at the POI Institute.Love Amber A

I can't tell you how much this place means to me. They saved my life back in 2023, and they didn't forget me. I nearly gave up again in 2024, and Mary, Kirby, and everyone who's a part of this wonderful program came to my rescue again - making sure I had everything I needed to get there safely, have a place to rest and restore, and really work on myself this time. I don't think I could've made it without The Freedom Center. During program one day, I started having a panic attack, and Judy sat me down for all of 2 minutes, halting it in its tracks. No one has ever come close to anything like that for me. These people care, and these people know what they're doing. Let them help you, and they will. No matter what happens in my future, know that this will forever be a part of my family <3Shoutout to Ashlyn and David for being excellent therapists - Patrick as well, even though I couldn't grasp what he meant at the time (I needed to hear it). And, Federico for being the genuine and wise person he is.Sydney and everyone else, too. I won't forget you. You all made this possible.Things that might matter if you're considering this place:The housing they provide is spacious and comfortable. The staff is excellent. They respect your privacy. In PHP, food is provided and plentiful. In IOP, space for your own food is provided if you opt-in to their housing. Their new inpatient rehab is excellent - excellent nurses, staff, etc. You can pretty much do your own thing and get away with it, but you should participate because your life almost certainly depends on it. The regular outpatient will be great, but they're still working out the logistics. They have the experience. They know how to help. The rest is up to you.
