Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy in California is a method that therapists often use for the effective treatment of substance use disorders. It is based on the principle that substance abuse stems from unhelpful ways of thinking and patterns of behavior, which can be changed by helping the individual learn better ways of coping.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy is a structured approach used by therapists to help you heal from a past traumatic event. Your therapist works with you to identify the traumatic memory and process the information so you experience emotional healing and a sense of safety and stability.

I am not a person who usually does google reviews, but the way that this place handles their business is extremely unprofessional and I feel that the only way this place has 4.1 stars is that these are the only individuals they let in due to the fact that they send people away as soon as they open their doors.I had made a call last week to see about making an appointment for my 17 year old daughter who has been struggling with her mental health lately. This is her first visit and I called to see how to get her started so she can be seen to talk to someone. I spoke with a young lady who stated that when you come for the first time it is first come first serve and to come early. She stated that Mondays could be busy and they only take walk ins Monday through Thursday. She stated that Thursday would be a better day to come in considering it's a light day and Mondays can be tight and they send people away. She also said it could take two to three hours to complete due to waiting and to bring snacks if we need. I also let her know she didn't need to be seen that day, I would just like to get the process started so I can make an appointment for her. She then said they opened at 8 so get there early. I thanked her and waited until Thursday.Thursday, which would be today, my daughter and I waited and there were about 7 individuals ahead of us. We arrived there at 7:45am. They then opened the doors at 8 am and everyone walked in and took their spots in line. Right away they then started calling out names to get the individuals that had "appointments." Then they started to get the ones in line. After three people, they then started saying they cannot take anymore walk ins. It was 8:03am. They still called me up and I asked to get my daughter set up. The gentlemen who spoke to me told me that they cannot take anymore today, so I had then asked, "Is there anyway I can just get her started so I can make an appointment for her later?" He then looks at me and tells me that they don't take "appointments." Although, when we first got there, they were calling people up for appointments. I even told the gentlemen, "So this is just a roll of the dice to get in when you have an issue and you have to be lucky enough to get in?" He then proceeded to tell me, "yeah, it kinda is." Needless to say, my daughter and many others were turned away within the first five minutes of them open. That was considered their light days. I could only imagine a busy day. They would probably send people away before they open. I felt so bad for everyone who got turned away. If they are understaffed or just unprofessional, I am not to sure, but I do know this is not a place to make you feel better when there is chance you can be turned away. After all that was done I came home and made a few calls and called the High Desert Psychological Services and spoke with Diana at the front desk. I explained to her that I needed to get my daughter seen and how to do to so. She did tell me there was a waiting list but she will see what she could do. She placed me on a brief hold and a few moments later, after giving her some information about my daughter, I had a text message with a link to fill out her paperwork and she has an appointment next week with a licensed provider. It was night and day how this was handled between the two companies. Which is why I felt compelled to write about this place. I wish they would have been more forthcoming with how fast they turn people away, because if they were truthful about that, I wouldn't have waited and found another place. I feel this place just wants to string you along or you need to camp out overnight to see someone. Don't waste your time here, because they will waste your time.

Pretty pathetic treatment towards patients and people seeking help. If a person discloses that they can't do group therapy, maybe its wise to acknowledge that and offer 1 on 1, especially if they have a condition thats documented verifying such. Yet, you want to give someone that is seeking assistance an issue as if said individual doesn't already have a lot going on. This is disgustingly pathetic and unprofessional. Seek a different profession, re evaluate the oath that was taken, seek mental help yourselves, but by all means, your professional status doesn't give you the right to discriminate, violate, and or mistreat sick people and families.
