About VCC: GRAPEVINE

Located in Vista, California, Vista Community Clinic - VCC: Grapevine provides specialized care for addiction and mental health treatment to adults and adolescents. They also offer special features such as individualized therapy plans and family counseling. Their payment options are private insurance and self pay.

For dual diagnosis care that incorporates both addiction and mental health treatment, VCC is invaluable. They can also serve both adults and teens.

This center prides itself in how they handle therapy sessions. They go to great lengths to tailor a treatment plan that best fits the needs of each patient. This isn’t a cookie-cutter location. They customize their procedures so that each patient receives the best care for them.

Another aspect in which VCC is highly distinct is its emphasis on the presence of family members. They think family involvement could greatly improve recovery results. If you have a friend, spouse or partner who is willing to help support you throughout this process, Vista would encourage it.

As for payment, they take numerous private insurance plans to help reduce financial obligations. Of course, to make sure you are covered it would still be sensible to check directly with them regarding your insurance policy. There are also choices for those who pay for treatment upfront.

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

inpatient iconInpatient Rehab

Inpatient rehab provides intensive treatment for clients exiting detox, those in early recovery, and those at an elevated risk of relapse. Unlike outpatient drug rehab, clients receiving inpatient care reside at the facility for the duration of the program. The length of stay may range from two weeks to 18 months or more, depending on the client's needs and the program's design. Inpatient treatment typically involves extensive addiction education and recovery-focused life skills training.

aftercare iconAftercare

Rehab aftercare programs offer clients in addiction recovery a robust continuum of care after clients have completed active treatment. These services address recovery as a life-long process and are designed to evolve with clients' changing needs. Clients may partner with their case managers and/or addiction recovery team to identify the rehab aftercare services that are right for them. They may receive career counseling, housing assistance, peer coaching, 12 step program induction, among many other services.

12-step icon12-Step

12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

When addicted, quitting your drug of choice suddenly can be dangerous. That's why experts agree a medically assisted detox is the safest way to remove addictive substances from the body. Usually done in an inpatient setting, your vitals signs and overall well being are consistently monitored and rechecked in order to keep you safe and ensure the detox is successful.

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

mental-health iconMental Health and Substance Abuse

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Cognitive Behavior Therapy

dialectical iconDialectical Behavior Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

desert iconMotivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

couples-therapy iconCouples Therapy

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

family iconFamily Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

life-skills iconLife Skills

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

nicotine iconNicotine Replacement Therapy

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

had an appointment here for my vision, they wasted time trying to get me to get all my up to date shots with 3 different doctors coming in , after all that time wasted they ran out of time and said they had to reschedule my appointment for a different day, the day before the rescheduled appointment they called me to tell me my doctor took the day off and would have to reschedule for a different day 1 month later. worst clinic by far .

this is the stupidest doctors office I've ever been to, and I am really kicking myself for letting my insurance just pick a place for me. The wait times are ridiculous, even if you have an appointment you will be waiting for hours to be seen by someone. A lot of the staff are incompetent and generally unhelpful. If you try to call, they will keep you on hold and eventually hang up on you if you don't opt for a call back. I also find it really odd that they don't keep their medical records organized. they asked me what vaccines my son needs, and I'm just like aren't you the doctor? Shouldn't you be telling me? And they do not upload every visit summary to the patient portal for some reason, I have been trying to get a visit summary for an appointment my son had in MARCH but that seems to be impossible and now I need to call some other number to wait on hold. Recently, I requested a telehealth appointment which the grapevine location refused to give me and said could not be done, but the Vale Terrace location had no issue doing. I hate coming here. I only gave 2 stars because the actual doctors I see are very nice and clearly overworked. The front desk staff on the other hand could use some training.

Dr Tran, who is my primary care physician is an amazing dr. He tries so hard and cares a lot about his patients. I definitely recommend him very highly if you re looking for a pcp.He has one or two very kind and caring nurses which I appreciate so much.Overall my experience has been pretty negative. The front staff including medical assistants and nurses are so incredibly rude. It s appalling how they are allowed to speak to patients. I love my dr but I m getting really burnt out on being treated so poorly by everyone around him.

I wish I could give them negative 5. I'm currently pregnant a high risk pregnancy and they have dropped the ball on more then one occasion. I have been seen twice and each time I go it's absolutely ridiculous how stupid they are, I just received a call that at my last appt when a blood draw was done for genetic testing which was a week ago now was not ever done they called so I can go in again to retake test and have offered no real explanation on what happened. They have not measured baby gave me wrong due date after I have been paying out of pocket for private ultrasound. I feel so frustrated and helpless on what to do at this point.

The staff is extremely rude and unwelcoming here. No one smiles, no one greets you as you walk in, they won't acknowledge you at all. They all hate their jobs. One guy there is super nice, don't remember his name, Latino, young, he was the only professional. All the other women there are so mean, and should be working in fast food instead. Go to TRUECARE clinic instead!!!! They are sooooo sweet, professional, efficient, friendly, kind. They are wayyyy better. Honestly wish they would clean house and fire all those rude girls there at VCC. They don't deserve to work in customer service. And just know Karma is real, and when the time comes that you end up being the patient and find yourself on the other side, I HOPE you get treated the way you treated allll those patients that walked through that front door of VCC.
