outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

inpatient iconInpatient

aftercare iconAftercare

Rehab aftercare programs support clients' reintegration into their home, workplace, and community following inpatient and residential treatment. They also promote long-term recovery for clients who may no longer be receiving outpatient treatment. Rehab aftercare services encompass a wide range of modalities and often include various medical, mental health, and social service programs. Case managers and care teams develop clients' customized service plans based on the client's evolving needs and recovery goals.

Heart icon Treatment

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

Drug rehab in Iowa is available in many formats. A variety of inpatient and outpatient options provide programs that are tailored to individual needs, making recovery possible for everyone.

mental-health iconMental Health and Substance Abuse

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

family iconFamily Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

No security guards, that makes me uneasy. After 9/11, hospital security is a MUST. The ICU doctor was dismissive, rude, and extremely uninterested in helping me and my family

I have to say a few things about this experience. The hospital staff was very friendly and we did appreciate that but it seemed like there was not good communication happening between floors. We were told by the heart unit nurse we would be discharged around 8:30 pm if there were no issues and she gave us the discharge paperwork. When we got up to third floor it became a completely different story. 8:30 pm rolls around and we call them to ask if we can be discharged. The young lady comes into the room and said the nurse is busy and we need to get discharge paperwork and another Dr to sign off. We had discharge paperwork already so we were confused as to why we needed more. She said that is what we do. An hour goes by and she comes in with the discharge paperwork, it is the exact same paperwork I have in my hand and proceeds to go over it again. At this point my very tired and upset husband is saying we went through this all downstairs every single thing you re saying. She proceeds to take off the heart monitor and take out the iv. After this my husband is so frustrated he dressed quick and thought they would be bringing a wheelchair, well no. They were all standing at the nurses station. He walked out of the room and told them I am walking out of here. We got an escort to the door. I did feel sorry for them because he was really angry with them about the lack of communication. Their communication has to improve with other floors and their patients. Not one person explained we would need to be discharged twice and have 2 separate Dr s discharge us. If we knew that we would have been trying to get them to work on the discharge earlier.Update: 2nd procedure went very well! My husband and I had a great nurse that was very helpful and the nursing staff made sure to let us know if there was a delay on things. Discharge went super smooth this time around. Thank you Allen hospital!

Stay away from this hospital, they do not care about their patients. They killed my Grandmother after surgery by not giving her a swallow test when she complained she felt something in her throat causing her to choke and ultimately die. They almost killed my Grandma when she was septic and they kicked her out of the hospital and she went into septic shock 24 hrs later, St. Luke s in CR saved her life. Went in for psychiatric treatment and was kicked out without receiving any help. Do not go here, they are lazy and negligent. Go anywhere else, preferably St. Luke s which is affiliated.

Med Surg floor moves at its own pace. Could be the second you press the call light, ask for meds etc. The staffs lack of desire and speed is unacceptable. The nurses that are present are exhausted and you can clearly tell not enough help on this floor.Fort Dodge would be the Gold Standard for care that Allen needs to achieve.

Went to the ER twice and was treated like a complete moron who had no business being there, talked down to by my doctors, and told to go see my primary at UnityPoint. My primary then cancelled my appts. I had an $8k bill after insurance for emergency visits, I was paying what I could on it every month, I missed 30 days and they sent me to collections. Will never go here again, will tell everyone to stay away.

The emergency room staff will never take my fiance seriously when he visits, even when he is in excruciating pain. He has a medical condition and they always just brush it aside. They always talk down to him and are very condescending, especially Dr. Wilkins. We would go somewhere else but this is unfortunately the closest ER to us. I highly recommend going anywhere else if you can.

The staff was extremely helpful and nurse practitioner Bobby was stellar. The quickest, most efficient ER visit I've ever had, will forever choose them over mercy one now.

Absolutely the best customer service and care when we needed it the most! My dear friend was checked in, safe from the minute she entered the emergency room, closely monitored, cared for, clean and the communication with all parties involved was absolutely superb. Over the years I have been able to experience at length hospital visits with friends and family members and I have never experienced such prompt remedies, short reaction times and kindness from every employee in the building. Walking in the halls there wasn t one employee that didn t have a smile or a pleasantry to communicate. Again, when you need it the most all the little and large things matter. Thank you for having such an inclusive mission statement that is truly visible and experienced daily. You all have made a difference!

On February 25-27 we were in ICU the patient was just 40 years old, his oxygen level was really low and the stuff was pumping him with pain medicine and pumping him with medicine for his anxiety, the patient was having panic attacks cuz the stuff asked his family to leave knowing that he had problems with his anxiety already, the staff put him on a ventilator and when they pushed the tube in they stopped his heart pushing air in his lungs, they staff were laughing and joking around in the ICU which should never of happened, there was 1 doctor for the whole shift and he never came in and talked to the family at all until after the patient was already passed away, I would never tell my family to go to Allen's Hospital in Waterloo, the cameras weren't working in the rooms either in the ICU unit, the patient was being pumped with lots of medicines that lowered his oxygen level and blood pressure, the doctor knew that the patients heart was only working 10% of the time but, didn't tell the family until the patient passed away, the stuff was working on him with no mask or gloves either plus continued to pump him with medicines, and the room was a mess when the family came into the room, they didn't even temp to clean the room before letting the family go into the room after the patient had passed away, we believed that the patient would still be here if they would of let us stay in the room with him cuz he had very bad anxiety issues and his family is the one who helped calm him down and when they were asked to leave the room the patient panicked and took his oxygen mask off , so his oxygen level dropped and his blood pressure
