About U Turn For Christ

If you’re looking for a Christ-centered addiction treatment center that puts the teachings of the Bible at the forefront of all their treatment modalities, look no further than U-Turn for Christ, located in San Angelo, Texas.

This is a men’s-only residential program that can be quite demanding for some. Located on a gorgeous ranch, this program offers a different approach to the recovery process. They believe that Christian values are the quickest and most effective way to recover from drugs or alcohol and their tactics have a bit of a military influence. You would be staying in military-style quarters, meaning a large room with bunks. Every resident will be sharing this one room. According to them, it’s supposed to help build a stronger community. Their program is separated into two phases. The first phase lasts a minimum of two months, while the second phase is six months long, on average.

Their residential program has a sort of routine that you’d be involved in. This includes morning devotionals, daily chores, volunteer community service, evening Bible study classes and nightly personal devotion time. I really like this approach. Even if you don’t consider yourself religious, I think these are good habits to form and I believe it can put you in the right headspace for an effective recovery process.

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

During rehab in Texas, you'll deal with underlying issues that contribute to addiction. By addressing these challenges and learning healthy ways to cope with them, you'll develop strategies that help you live a drug-free lifestyle.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

substance-abuse iconSubstance Abuse

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Terrible program. I went to the Greenville TN location in 2020 and it was absolutely tragic. Do not go to this program. They didn't give me my phone back and they took me off my mental health medication because they said they didn't believe in it. Narcissist bible thumbers

I have had the privilege of serving at U-Turn in CA as a worship leader and bible teacher-evangelist many times over the last decade. I've seen The LORD transform countless lives through this ministry and look forward to serving again with their team. I consider Gerry Brown the founder of U-Turn a dear friend, I am inspired by the love and grace that God has given him for the broken hearted.

What a great group of guys What a great program. I had the pleasure of meeting Mike the guy at the front I had been working with him about 2 weeks before we were able to drive my son up there. He was very welcoming and open about everything. We even discussed some earlier reviews on this site.We left the ranch compketely comfortable. Can't wait to see God move in my son's life. He is Now Willing. .... Stay tuned.

While my experience wasn't the one they ideally offer, through my struggles with submitting to leadership, and bonding with the men I was in fellowship, I became closer to God than I've ever been before. Would recommend if you're willing to go thru a radical change. They helped me turn my life around. God Bless
