About U Turn For Christ
At U Turn for Christ in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, their faith based recovery approach includes both substance abuse and mental health services. They help churches develop programs that are based on Biblical principles and discipleship. These programs provide the means of escape for those who are addicted, without continually trying a treatment that doesn't seem to work. Their treatment doesn't only address the physical side of addiction but also the emotional and spiritual wounds that come with it.
U Turn for Christ Substance Abuse Treatment Center conducts its program in two principal stages. The first part is a very intensive two month program where you are living on site with the other members and have to adhere to a strict daily timeline. Activities include prayer meetings, worship services and Bible studies. These help hold you accountable to your end goal. Ultimately, participants are led to center their lives around a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, which they believe is the catalyst and foundation of change.
Once participants pass Phase One, they go to Phase Two. At this stage, people are starting to be brought back into society per guidance from the U Turn for Christ community. This can last anywhere from six months to one year depending upon the progress of the person and unique requirements.
This program allows people to not only start over, but it provides a place where they can reinvent their life in an environment of faith. Their vision stretches beyond just achieving short-term sobriety. It means arming people with the tools they need to carry them through recovery for the long haul.
Though they do not provide therapy or counseling that you might get in a clinical mental health setting, they help people with their emotional struggles by applying Biblical teachings. Faith, for many, acts as inspiration that propels them away from anxiety, depression and other things that led to their addiction.
Along with the two-phase recovery program, U Turn for Christ offers outreach and mission opportunities. After people finish the program and have their lives turned around, they are encouraged to serve others in the local community or abroad on missions. The emphasis on helping others not only helps people remain connected to their faith but also demonstrates that recovery is a pathway of service. Individual healing goes hand-in-hand with casting hope into the lives of others.

Treatment
Alcoholism
The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.
Drug Addiction
Drug rehab in Pennsylvania is devoted to the treatment of addiction. Levels of care, treatment methods, and settings differ, but the aim of each program is to end drug dependency and empower participants to achieve long-term recovery.
Opioid Addiction
Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.
Substance Abuse
Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.
Clinical Services
Group Therapy
Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.
Individual Therapy
In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.
Life Skills
Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.
Nicotine Replacement Therapy
Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.
