About Tulip Hill Recovery

At Tulip Hill Recovery, we understand that your struggle is unique. We know that if you struggle with drug addiction, alcohol addiction, mental health, or a combination of the two, it can be extremely difficult.

Tulip Hill is here to help you join the millions of Americans in active recovery. We bridge the gap between world-class clinical treatment and a holistic, caring environment at our rehab center in Murfreesboro, TN. We also offer drug addiction rehab in Nashville. We truly believe that recovery is possible for anyone. Since opening, we’ve helped hundreds of people find their feet in sobriety through our holistic approach to treatment. We believe that substance and alcohol addictions are often only a band-aid on a much larger problem – mental illness. According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), around 7.7 million American adults have co-occurring addiction and mental health conditions. Our dual diagnosis treatment encompasses all of the most effective parts of drug and alcohol rehab and mental health treatment to get to the root of the real problem.

Medical briefcase icon Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

inpatient iconInpatient

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

aftercare iconAftercare

Clients receiving support in a rehab aftercare program typically have abstained from drugs or alcohol for a period of weeks or months and have completed high-level (often inpatient) treatment. Drug rehab aftercare is designed to support clients in maintaining their sobriety as they re-engage with their ordinary lives at home, in the workplace, and in the community. Services are highly individualized and evolve with clients' changing needs, but generally include peer coaching and relapse prevention.

12-step icon12-Step

When enrolld in an addiction recovery program that's based on the 12 step model, clients are able to cultivate recovery-focused life skills emphasizing spiritual, mental, and emotional healing. Participants receive intensive peer support in 12 step meetings, which are anonymous, free, open to the public, and available day and night in most communities. Self-selected sponsors guide sponsees through the recovery journey, cultivating self-awareness, forgiveness, acceptance, and accountability. Though these programs are rooted in spiritual principles, participants aren't required to be religiously affiliated.

sober-living iconSober Living Homes

A sober living home in Tennessee, also known as a halfway house, refers to a group residence for men or women who are recovering from addiction. These are usually privately owned homes or houses owned by a nonprofit or business. Most are located in quiet residential areas. Residents have their own rooms or share a room with one roommate, and they share common areas. Each resident pays rent and helps with household maintenance.

heart-hands iconIntervention Services

The goal of a drug intervention in Tennessee is to encourage a person with a substance use disorder to enter treatment. The process also educates family members about addiction, enabling behaviors, and treatment options. The involvement of intervention services can help with this education and provide guidance for the intervention itself and follow-up care. The professional interventionist will work with the entire family to encourage the best outcomes possible from the intervention.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

Safe detox requires 24-hour clinical care in Tennessee. This is due to the health risks that are involved during withdrawal. As the brain reacts to the absence of the drug, severe symptoms can occur, depending on the type of drug used. For instance, alcohol and benzodiazepine withdrawal may result in seizures. Fortunately, supervised care in a clinical setting can provide the necessary treatment to avoid health risks and allow you to complete detox safely.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

To keep you safe and comfortable during the detoxification process, a medically assisted detox provides you with a team of medical professionals who can provide the necessary medications to treat any potential withdrawal symptoms. Suddenly stopping chronic abuse of substances like alcohol, benzodiazepines, or opioids can have uncomfortable and even dangerous side effects.

Heart icon Treatment

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

When your day-to-day life is taken over by drug use, this is known as substance use disorder. If you abruptly stop using your drug of choice, you experience withdrawal symptoms. To overcome this cycle, professional drug rehab in Tennessee is usually needed.

check iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

mental-health iconMental Health

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

mental-health iconMental Health and Substance Abuse

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

In Tennessee, group therapy sessions for drug and alcohol addiction typically involve skill development to help you learn communication techniques and relapse prevention strategies. These strategies support your transition into the community and help you maintain long term sobriety.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

Men and women in Tennessee undergoing one on one individual therapy sessions focus on understanding their unique needs and challenges. They do this under the guidance of an experienced therapist who can help you identify and address addiction triggers as well as create personalized relapse prevention plans. This offers you a customized path to a successful recovery journey.

desert iconMotivational Interviewing

If you participate in motivational interviewing in Tennessee, your therapist will focus on four key strategies: open questions, affirmation, reflections, and summarizing. Rather than confront or warn you to change, the clinician will allow you to explore your own motivations and decide what changes you may need to make in your life.

couples-therapy iconCouples Therapy

While engaged in couples therapy in Tennessee, you'll learn how to trust, communicate, forgive, and manage emotions. Developing these skills can be beneficial at any time during the relationship, but they are particularly crucial when facing life challenges.

family iconFamily Therapy

Family therapy uses a structured environment to address the complexities of addiction and the negative influences it has on the family unit. Therapists work with family members to develop effective coping and communication strategies that support their loved one's recovery while also focusing on the health and well being of each family member.

life-skills iconLife Skills

recreational-therapy iconRecreational Therapy

Recreational therapy supports addiction recovery by giving you structured activities that promote physical and mental health. Tulip Hill Recovery has given me so much to look forward to. I feel I'm ready to take on life again. I have struggled with addiction for a long time. I have been to multiple treatment centers, staying different lengths of time. By far Tulip Hill has been a miracle in my life. They have taught me how to appreciate who I am and let go of the baggage from the past. Every group is taught by a very qualified professional. The staff all work together and are acceptionally organized. The therapist I cannot say enough good things about. This is my first time with a real therapist and it is life changing. I stayed 3 months and was so proud of the steps I've made to understand addiction and ways to help me stay clean. I can hold my head high and be proud of who I am today. I will forever remember Tulip Hill and be thankful everyday I found them!!! If you need help give them a call. Just to talk if you need someone to listen. They really do care!!

From day one William introduced me to a great group of people. I was able to really connect with many of the staff members. As my journey progressed I connected with an amazing therapist who helped me work on things I had never really dealt with. The dual focus of the facility in mental health and addiction treatment was exactly what I needed. I have grown a lot and have been set on a path to success. 4 months clean and sober I feel like a whole new person ready to live life on life's terms. Thank you to everyone at Tulip Hill for everything.

I've had the pleasure of being a client at this facility on two occasions. Both times I was treated with the utmost respect and overall kindness that allowed what was otherwise a painful and hard time in my life much easier to navigate, which was ultimately why I decided to return when I realized I needed further counseling. They provide a well thought out and structured step-down process that allows you to gain freedom and maintain responsibility and prepares you for re-entry to everyday life and how to deal with real world situations. The staff cares about each individual client and does an excellent job tailoring to their needs. I highly recommend this facility and program for anyone in need of assistance.
