Accepted Insurance

Trumbull Memorial Hospital Forum works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient rehabs offer robust wraparound care for clients who are stepping down from intensive inpatient care, with many facilities providing multiple levels of care, including partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), sober living/halfway housing, and standard outpatient programming. Clients may also elect to enroll in outpatient care immediately after completing inpatient detox. Those who are at lower risk of withdrawal complications may also choose to receive ambulatory medical detox from an outpatient facility. Outpatient programs typically involve addiction counseling, recovery education, and/or medication assisted treatment (MAT). Holistic therapies, such as art and music therapy, are commonly available.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) are designed for clients who need frequent, high-level care but do not require, or choose to forgo, inpatient treatment. Most intensive outpatient rehabs offer a minimum of nine hours of treatment weekly, though clients may receive up to 20 hours of care as needed. These programs typically combine various treatment modalities, including individual, group, and family counseling, medication assisted treatment (MAT), addiction and recovery education, and evidence-based complementary therapies, such as acupuncture and massage.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Family therapy offers a group time to collectively make an effort to understand and combat the issues and challenges associated with addiction. Therapists work with family members to establish healthy boundaries between each other and their loved one who is addicted, improve emotional support systems, and work together toward a sustained long term recovery.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

Someone close to me had to be admitted for emergency surgery. This is the bed in his room currently. I personally saw him get switched to this bed so I know this is not in fact his blood. It is all over the bed he is CURRENTLY STAYING IN. Amongst many other complaints I have about this stay he is having, the bloody bed is disgusting, unsanitary, and absolutely appalling. No one came to check on him for at least 2 hours after he was placed in his room. They didn t start his IV or pain meds anytime soon after his surgery. I m also the one helping him empty his catheter tube because it keeps backing up. He had a suction tube in his nose that no one hooked up for over 16 hours at least causing him to vomit and bloat up when that was supposedly what the tube was for. I had to make the nurses help for everything. I might as well get paid for working there at this rate.CLOSE THIS PLACE AND CALL IT A DAY.

via ChatGPT:Yes, it may be possible to sue a hospital for forcing you to take medications with coerced consent, misdiagnosing you, and giving you medications for a condition you don t have. However, these types of cases usually involving medical malpractice or violations of patient rights can be complex. Here's what to consider:### 1. **Medical Malpractice**Medical malpractice lawsuits involve proving that a healthcare provider s negligence caused harm. To sue for medical malpractice, you generally need to prove:- **Duty of care**: The hospital or healthcare providers had a duty to provide you with a certain standard of care.- **Breach of duty**: The hospital or providers deviated from that standard of care, such as by misdiagnosing you or coercing you into taking medication without proper consent.- **Causation**: The breach of duty directly caused harm to you, either physically or emotionally.- **Damages**: You suffered specific damages, such as physical injury, emotional trauma, financial costs, or long-term health effects.### 2. **Lack of Informed Consent**A central issue in your case would be whether the hospital obtained **informed consent**. Medical professionals must explain the risks, benefits, and alternatives to treatments, allowing you to make an informed decision. Coerced consent, where you were pressured or manipulated into taking medications, may not qualify as informed consent. You may have grounds to sue if:- You were forced or coerced into taking medications without a full explanation.- You were misinformed or not given a choice.- You were prescribed medications for a condition you don t have (based on misdiagnosis) and were harmed as a result.### 3. **Misdiagnosis**Misdiagnosis itself isn t automatically grounds for a lawsuit, but if the misdiagnosis led to incorrect treatment that harmed you, you could potentially sue. You would need to show that:- The healthcare provider failed to make a correct diagnosis that another competent provider would have made under similar circumstances.- The misdiagnosis caused you to receive unnecessary or harmful treatment, such as medications for a condition you didn t have.### 4. **Coerced Consent or Medical Rights Violations**If you were forced into treatment against your will or felt pressured to give consent, this could potentially violate your **patient rights**. Depending on the situation, this could lead to claims of negligence or even medical battery, where treatment was administered without your proper consent.### 5. **Document Everything**To support your case, gather as much documentation as possible:- Medical records detailing the diagnosis, treatment, and medications given.- Records of your consent process or lack thereof.- Any communication between you and the hospital regarding your care.- Any evidence of harm or side effects from the medication.### 6. **Consult an Attorney**Medical malpractice cases are complex, and laws vary by state. Consulting with an experienced medical malpractice attorney is critical. They can evaluate your case, help gather evidence, and determine whether you have a viable claim.

3.5 hour wait and literally no help.Ask the receptionist what the wait might even be and got told "people have been here longer than that"What excellent help the people here are!Edit:After waiting 4 hours we still hadn't gotten to see anybody. After asking if there was any way to her an excuse for the amount of time waiting we were also told "no, because you haven't been seen"What a joke.

This place is a joke. Came in through the ER and after waiting there for several hours, finally was called back to a room, where it was another hour before a nurse was in to see us. She had no clue what we were there for, obviously didn't read any chart. Was treated with below minimum standards and we waited again for another few hours to be seen again. The whole time we can hear the staff outside the room laughing and joking about inappropriate things. Will never be back here for any reason, will drive the extra time to Mercy.Do better.
