In York Pennsylvania, TrueNorth Wellness Services provides outpatient treatment for substance abuse. They are a trauma informed care organization that works to foster a culture of hope and healing with safe spaces filled with dependable relationships, and a place where everyone can flourish. Their drug use therapists emphasize education and problem solving along with growing self awareness in order to set their clients on the path to recovery. Their therapists are qualified to assist clients with a broad range of co occurring issues including relationship problems and trauma as well as anxiety and depression.

Their peer support program is intended to assist those living with mental illness and going through recovery. Clients can learn and benefit from the real life experiences of trained and certified peers who are successfully managing their mental health. The program enables clients to develop a relaxed and honest relationship with peers as they share their experiences.

Another TrueNorth program helps students who are struggling in school because of alcohol or drug abuse or mental health issues. This Student Assistance Program was initially created in Pennsylvania. They try to help and connect these students with the right community and school resources. After receiving a referral they collaborate with kids and families as well as local school districts to create an action plan that will provide assistance and address the issues.

TrueNorth also has substance use education and prevention programs. They help businesses, law enforcement, first responders, schools, health care providers, and other community organizations identify the early signs of substance use and support prevention.

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

inpatient iconInpatient

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Clients engaged in intensive outpatient programs (IOP) live and work in their home community while receiving frequent, high-level care. These programs offer personalized care designed to evolve with the clients' changing needs. Many intensive outpatient rehabs require a minimum of nine hours of treatment per week, but high-risk clients and those in early recovery may receive up to 20 hours of care weekly. IOP services generally include addiction counseling, recovery education, and holistic therapies, such as massage.

heart-hands iconIntervention Services

Intervention services bring extensive experience to the planning and conducting of drug interventions in Pennsylvania. These experts can facilitate interventions in a sensitive manner that encourages positive outcomes. The goal of the intervention is to educate the individual about addiction and the consequences of their substance use and encourage them to get the treatment they need. Interventions can be effective with all types of drugs and alcohol addiction.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

With a partial hospitalization program (PHP), you can participate in intensive rehabilitation treatment with the ability to return home at the end of the day. For a weekly minimum of 20 hours, a partial hospitalization program can take place up to 5 days a week for an average of 90 days. During PHP treatment, you can receive relapse prevention strategies, medication management, individual and group therapy, and other behavioral therapy interventions.

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

Because the severity of withdrawal symptoms can fluctuate, constant monitoring under 24-hour clinical care in Pennsylvania is recommended for early recovery. As you undergo detox, medical staff will supervise your health and ensure severe symptoms do not develop or threaten your life. Professional counselors will also be available to treat mental and emotional health needs.

check iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

mental-health iconMental Health

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

desert iconMotivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing in Pennsylvania gives you the opportunity to share your perspective and explore your ideas and motivation for change. Your therapist will walk you through the four steps of engaging, focusing, evoking, and planning to empower you to make any desired changes in your life.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

couples-therapy iconCouples Therapy

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

family iconFamily Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

life-skills iconLife Skills

Life skills are the mental and social skills that are necessary to navigate day to day life. Addiction diminishes or eliminates these skills, so they must be relearned and practiced during drug rehab treatment in Pennsylvania.

recreational-therapy iconRecreational Therapy

Incorporating recreational therapy into drug and alcohol addiction programs in Pennsylvania helps you rebuild your life and maintain sobriety by discovering new interests and developing healthy coping mechanisms. Recreational activities can include painting, team sports, and hiking to promote physical and mental health.

Went to York office with Blue Cross/Blue Shield Insurance. Went there several times. Called them five times. Just refused services to me. Would not call me back. They are so unprofessional it is not even funny.

Went here before the covid lockdown, was dealing with a lot. They didn't help me whatsoever. They refused medication and they would not look into any depression/anxiety. When I spoke of my 2nd trimester miscarriage, the counselor looked me in the face and told me to "get over it. Its not that big of a deal. You can go to a doctor for that." Will never seek help for mental health with this organization ever again.

Actually tried to keep me there "because other people do X" to get more money after showing up for a court order, waste of time for both parties.

I have been going to the TrueNorth wellness center for awhile now and I have had the best experience with my doctor. The office staff and the nurse that handles medication authorizations however, have not been very helpful. I never usually leave bad reviews for offices or businesses because I'm never one to complain. Although, I've been out of my required medication for awhile now, and have called the office, insurance, and gone back and fourth with pharmacy in order to receive my medication that has not been able to be filled for awhile now. When I called to speak with the nurse who is in charge of authorizing the medication she told me she didn't understand why they kept kicking the order back. Which is fine I understand insurance can be difficult to get authorizations, but she could have offered to call and find out what needed to be done in order for approval. Instead she told me she couldn't help me any further (even though she had the insurance contact information) because she did not understand the insurance process, and that I needed to personally call them AGAIN to figure out how to get my medication. Overall, I am very displeased as a patient that I am playing a back and fourth game to receive medication that Is necessary for my mental health and well being, and it seems like the office is very unwilling to assist me. I hope that this can be resolved ASAP.

Dr Taswir continues to prescribe a medication that is not for anxiety. Then when I expressed my concerns, he refused to treat me. They don't care. The counselors are great, the doctors are both quacks.
