This agency was horrible. Not knowledgeable. I had one worker that had major issues with his body like depression, sickness, apathy, slightness Of passive, aggressive behaviors., daydreaming. Mostly they weren't super clean. Things like vehicles and surrounding clutter belonging to the worker. Overall, I didn't find any of the materials helpful. I was needing things that are beneficial to my diagnosis, such as a recommended diet, common changes and information for the diagnosis.Basic things. Overall, I was surprised at how useless this agency was.. Basic things, like how to care for yourself. When in recovery, I had also had a car accident at the time. The agency had little to no structure concerning how I was cared for while I was with them and the transition. They councel and offer dealings with life skills. A lot of times people apply to this agency for life skill help. They are capable of making things where., you end up doing all the work for yourself. They are completely useless.. Looking back, I noticed also that some of them were emotional while trying to work.. Overall, none of them had exceptional professional skills. Personal ways of handling things that can be off to some people that aren't in line with common business practice or healthcare.. Also, they give extremely bad judgment calls on organic situations a lot of the time they don't check mostly for the correct process, safety, or the right channels for clearing a decision. These people can make things worse than anything, you can possibly Even be capable of doing without them on your own. I would not recommend them ever. And the structure is so loose with the paper documentation. No one's going to know what happened in the situation, if it needs any changes or alterations along the way.. And you will be left with the entire mess to fix completely on your own with your own resources, without knowing, or what? Who? was responsible.. Also a lot of times they're paper task. They don't complete correctly.Or the alignment of offering out the information they do not correctly convey or complete their part of training the person. Mostly I found a lot of these people are strange. Or younger, the younger ones are almost nerve. Wracking where you might see things to your own mind where they need help for their day to. Day life..

If you have serious mental health issues, I very much recommend you DO NOT go here. I've been dealing with this place for months and I swear I have never been so unstable in my life, especially considering I'm seen here almost every 2 weeks. If I could switch I would but no one is available to take my case on short notice. Constant changes in meds causing insurance issues and going without meds in-between causing huge mental health episodes and withdrawl lows. I've called this place in tears multiple times asking, borderline begging for help and get no where. I've reached out to a supervisor 3 times now with no answer. This place is a joke and doesn't care about the patients stability. Stay away.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Maine is the process of helping someone learn how to live without the use of substances. Professional staff provide treatment to address the various issues of addiction. Methods often involve medication, counseling, and evidence-based therapies.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

My case was positive, I achieved my recovery but the process was very tedious, people are not very friendly and only seek to fulfill their work regardless of your name.

This place is a joke. I have an appointment card and went at date and time and nobody put me in the schedule. Then they rescheduled me and called me 1/2 before appointment to postpone it. I will not recommend this place to my worst enemy. This place is terrible

Seeing some of the reviews people have left here are a bit disheartening to me... I completely understand one person's perception of something can be unequivocally different from anothers. I understand that we are all struggling, and that always adds to the everyday challenges we face. We are also immersed in a pandemic that NONE of us asked for nor wanted, yet it was thrust upon us regardless. That has made scheduling very difficult(everywhere really) but especially in a facility such as this. So many are desperately struggling with the world around us, it is a collective worry that has invaded all of us. Society is uneasy, we are all struggling. Some assuredly more than others..My own personal experience here has been nothing short of a true Blessing. I am struggling right now with many personal and work issues and undoubtedly needed to reach out for help.I put my pride aside, as well as the stigma so many of us bear with mental health issues, and was referred to Tri-County. They immediately set me up with not just a professional- but a TEAM of professionals who are ALL 100% looking out for me, my best interests and my own personal pursuit of happiness. They have gone above and beyond their 9 to 5 duties, even checking in with me on their personal time and weekends to be sure that I am happy, healthy and back to living life to its fullest potential.. The times we are in do not occur in a personal vacuum, this affects ALL of us. Including the professionals working here. They are people too. Yet, they set their own personal trepidations to the side in order to help others. To help us.To everyone here at Tri County Mental Health: Your work here does not go unnoticed, nor should it be discounted or overlooked. You are uplifting our community with a vital service. So many of us suffer quietly and alone with depression, substance abuse, anxiety, PTSD and a plethora of other struggles. Especially in the times we find ourlves in. If any of you ever by happenstance stumble across this review one day, I just want to personally say - thank you. You are appreciated....A special personal recognition to Dr Paul Vincel, Tiffany and Shannon. THANK YOU for all of your help along this rocky path in my life.

This company alters their reviews because they can not handle what they cause them selves. Not all people coming in to this mess of a mental health enviornment are as ignorant or incompetant as several of these degreed people are at their job. Watch this get deleted as to prevent truth being seen about their own mishaps.. I mean why not just do damage control and try making patients out to be liars. hawittnesses

Too long of a wait list for my children to be seen. Only called me one time to try and put my child with a provider, I called back less than half an hour later only to be told that slot had been filled and asked me if I wanted to be put back on the wait list. They then sent me a letter telling me they had been trying to get ahold of me for services and that if I did not call by deadline they would be taking my son of the waitlist. When I called the receptionist was not polite or compassionate to the frustration/ situation that we had been receiving trying to get an appointment and proceeded to tell me that they could not book an appointment with me until I had provided proof that their father had given permission for them to be seen, even after I disclosed that I have legal primary decision making authority and that their father would be at the appointment should they need further verification. (After having gone through this during initial referral intake and having them express understanding). This second person refused to accept my answer, because company policy. My children had been on a wait list for over 1 month. I refuse to allow them to be seen by any practitioners if this is how their front end staff treat clients during their most emotional need times. The nature of the business is to enforce policy over patient centered care, especially during times of great need for mental health. I am incredibly disappointed.
