I would like to thank Lisa, Larhonda, Becca, Paige, Myiesha, and the rest of the staff for all of their help and support during my stay at the In As Much House. I was staying there under the VIP Program.I would also like to thank Mitch, Dre, and Chris for their help with getting what I needed to get into Silver Star for Veterans. They were all very pleasant to work with and I would highly recommend it for the women and all Veterans. They can get the help with needed resources for locating housing and help for the Veterans to get in touch with resources from the VA.

The very insignificant people program teaches veterans their bigger place in the community and country as a hole. Move to another state and/of country if possible

The VIP program stands for "Veterans In Progress", and it's very effective at helping formerly homeless US Military veterans get into housing and work towards being self-sufficient. The program helps in many areas, and is led by Veterans on our staff. For Veterans that want to work towards being independent and self-sufficient, we value the opportunity to be of service.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Clients receiving care in an intensive outpatient program (IOP) typically have completed inpatient treatment, but some choose to enroll in IOP immediately following detox. Intensive outpatient rehabs offer high-level support for clients in early recovery and those at an increased risk of relapse. Most programs provide between nine and 20 hours of treatment per week, with services ranging from addiction counseling to recovery education to medication assisted treatment (MAT). Holistic therapies, such as acupuncture, are common.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Clients engaged in a rehab aftercare program have already completed high-level treatment and have begun to develop essential recovery skills. Rehab aftercare services are designed to support clients' sustained sobriety as they reintegrate into their home, workplace, and community. Case managers, care teams, and clients design the customized service portfolio that will best support the client's long-term sobriety. Clients may receive peer coaching, 12 step program induction, vocational training, and relapse prevention services.
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
Sober Living Houses (SLHs), aka sober homes or halfway houses, are safe, substance-free, supportive living facilities for those recovering from substance abuse. Ideal for those who've just been through inpatient or outpatient treatment, SLHs are supervised environments with rules that support sobriety, such as curfews, shared chores, and therapeutic meetings. Residents are also often trained on life skills and coping skills to make it easier to transition into society. SLHs also provide a strong sense of community that can lead to the kind of deep and lasting connections with other sober individuals that supports a new, healthy lifestyle.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
During a drug intervention in Michigan, family, friends, and colleagues share in their own words how a person's substance abuse has affected their lives. An intervention must be carefully planned, with the goal of encouraging the individual to get treatment for their addiction. Many rehab programs offer intervention services to help families prepare for this confrontation and guide them through the recovery process.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Michigan provides personalized treatment to help individuals break this cycle and regain control of their lives. Treatment methods are used in various levels of care, including inpatient rehab, partial hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient programs, and standard outpatient treatment.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
hearing-impaired-program thumbnail image
Hearing Impaired Program
A sensory disability, such as hearing impairment, can compound the challenges of addiction recovery. Drug rehabs that are specially designed to accommodate the needs of persons with hearing impairments will include special accessibility features and accommodations to make treatment as comfortable and effective as possible. This may include access to American Sign Language interpreters.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy in Michigan helps participants view challenges more clearly so they can respond to them in healthy ways. During a limited number of structured sessions, clients learn about and practice these changes to effectively address substance use and mental health disorders.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

During trauma therapy in Michigan, you are guided through traumatic memories within a safe and supportive environment. Your therapist then provides you with tools to process traumatic events and reduce the symptoms that occur when you're exposed to a trigger. This improves your overall mental health and ability to function in the community.

Both internal and external factors can put stress on a relationship. Couples therapy helps you and your partner work through those stressors and find healthy ways to deal with challenges as they arise.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Recreational therapy helps to build healthy habits and discover new interests that can reduce your cravings and your exposure to alcohol and drug triggers. Activities may include physical fitness, gardening, group games, and team sports. These promote relaxation, improve your mood, and encourage social interaction. Each of these is crucial to sustain long term recovery.

One of the worst places I ve ever been all my experiences their was negative even being homeless and struggling with no one I refused to go there and always will because it s to judgmental among other reasons like being told when you can and can t leave or show up important things like employment and appointments would leave you locked out all night or dropped for not following rules I wouldn t believe half the positive comments are even real comments Battle Creek is not a safe place for support in many cases be careful who you trust! To the good people surrounded by corrupt ones in this business I salute you . I will never use nor recommend your haven for I know the corrupt that hides above you even if you do not the only way your initiative becomes true is to be exactly what you say you are supposed to be yet it changes for people who are actually there and I definitely agree with the Lisa comment maybe your haven needs investigation rather than people just commenting reviews mental and emotional is considered abuse and to have someone feel that a person there has no heart .. Bravo!

Response from the owner1 year ago
The Haven's entry and exit policies will accommodate residents and guests leaving for valid purposes and appointments; We accommodate 2nd and 3rd shift workers as well, and even provide lunches for people with jobs on 2nd and 3rd shifts. Coming and going at different hours of the night for reasons other than work or healthcare appointments is not permitted. We do have rules, and they are in place to operate an emergency shelter in the safest and most efficient manner. We provide emergency shelter with a focus on moving people into safe, permanent housing. Focusing on health, safety and housing of our residents and providing a safe, efficient environment is the goal of our rules. We're sorry you could not seem to get with that sort of a program, but we are ready to help you if you decide to want to make progress in the future and need shelter.

I wouldn't recommend until Lisa is removed as the person in charge she has no heart and doesn't really understand how it feels to lose everything she rushes people out without taking into consideration of the things they are working on and keep those who sit around all day doing nothing I'm pretty sure she's the reason this beauitful place is losing funding ..

I called seeking for help for my son. I spoke to ron and I was treated terrible. I'm a career woman and he just point blank said he didn't have time for me....I will never donate again because of his attitude and he didn't care what my son is going through. Calhoun county is terrible as I pay 3000.00 dollars a year in property taxes....thanks for throwing us parents away that care...and as for ron and your attitude you should be fired....why the heck is there a haven when people like you operate it

Response from the owner4 years ago
Hi Kellie, I hope you'll call our Men's Life Recovery Program and speak to the coordinator, at two-6-9, seven-8-8- zero nine 7 9. We do not get funding from property taxes through Calhoun County, so please don't get mad at them. Better yet, have your son call us so we can get him involved in his own recovery plan. We will certainly stand ready to help however we can.
