About The Extension
The Extension is an alcohol and substance use rehab center for homeless men and women in Marietta, Georgia. The facility provides gender-specific inpatient treatment for clients who are over the age of 24.
They can accommodate a maximum capacity of 57 beds on the men’s campus and 25 beds on the women’s campus. The program duration is nine to twelve months and is divided into three phases.
Firmly rooted in the Matric Model, patients in the initial phase of treatment undergo assessment and learn about issues critical to addiction and relapse. You’ll receive direction and support from a trained counselor and are monitored for drug use.
As they progress through treatment, patients will attend 25-30 weeks of practical life skills training. These training sessions can cover topics such as education on toxic relationships, money management, effective communication, and more. Progress is measured by the administration of pre and post tests for each of the five core components of the curriculum.
In the final stage, you’ll prepare for discharge through education that helps them integrate into daily living. You’ll develop a specific and realistic understanding of relapse warning signs, management is possible, and change is likely. Additionally, a comprehensive aftercare plan is provided.
The Extension may provide addiction treatment services at no cost to qualifying clients. However, if referrals are made to outside providers for recovery support, those facilities may accept most forms of commercial insurance. Speak to your individual provider to confirm your coverage as out of network benefits can vary.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.
Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Individual therapy is facilitated by a trained staff member and provides a safe, structured environment for emotional expression, exploration, resolve and healing.
They know the disease of addiction affects the entire family. If a recovering client returns to a dysfunctional family who has had no counseling, the chances of success are greatly diminished. Regular meetings with their Licensed Professional Counselor enables the family to work together to identify the challenges they are facing. They know that every situation is different; therefore they assist with different strategies that may help overcome such challenges.
