I just celebrated 2 years of sobriety. I owe it all to God, and IARC. Just like several others, this facility saved my life. The things I learned about myself, and how powerless I was over alcohol really opened my eyes, mind, and soul. Since I ve been sober I still go back to IARC to tell my story, and meet the new clients. I want to give them hope, and to let them know the program WORKS IF YOU WORK IT! Does that sound familiar ? I m very proud of anyone who needs help, and seeks it. May God Bless You

We were so impressed by the staff who run the AOP (Assisted Outpatient Program). The weekly sessions are intense and thorough. The staff were professional yet compassionate. Every person we came into contact with during our week there was so welcoming. From the dining hall to the front desk to the person manning the entrance gates, we were treated with respect and kindness, which just added to the general feeling that Menninger s Clinic is a good place to receive help. I was a patient on unit 300 and the only nurses that actually care about the patients in there are nurse Mo and the other nurse with blue hair and glasses. The other night shift nurses act like they are scared to come out of the nurses station and treat the patients like prisoners. Nurse Mo and the other nurse actually seem like they like they jobs and aren t miserable every day. It seems like the weekends are much better because the nurses are more involved with the actual patients than glued to those chairs at the computers.

This wellness center has been a true light in my life in the past two months. I initially scheduled an appointment because they took my Texas Healthy Women's coverage through Medicaid for a well-woman exam. The clinic is extremely clean and the waiting room is spacious. The staff were nothing but kind and courteous. I was seen in under 10 minutes from finishing my new patient paperwork. The NP, Ms. Rojas, was easy to talk to, explained her process and listened my concerns. She addressed my concerns with a full blood panel and even though my Medicaid coverage wouldn't cover what we would need to do for further visits, she helped me get covered through their financial assistance program. I have also seen Dr. Pearce (GYN) who is amazing and funny. She walked me through the different birth control options and worked with Ms. Rojas to make sure what I chose would coincide with the medications and other health issues that were being addressed. Even the security guard on the entry level is a sweetheart. I will be returning here for all of my health needs!

I went to this facility, and alot of the "issues" have to do with the kids. I loved the staff, and they went above and beyond with every patient. Coming to terms that you or a loved one has a drug or alcohol addiction is never easy. Asking for help to conquer addiction can be even more difficult. Lucas Brewer
I want to first say that my time at the PaRC was a wonderful experience and was probably the best 30 days of my life. Most of the personnel working there were exceptional humans and 85% are actually in recovery so they know exactly what you are going through. The support, the mental wellbeing staff, counselors and care coordination team are, for the most part phenomenal. I wanted to give a big shout out to Ernie, Anthony, Tuliesha, Cecelia, Amad, Resha, Derrick, Darrel, Gabriel, Gabriella, Ryan, Veronica, David, Lilly, Ms Linda, Xavier, Tara and Mary as well as John A, Tonya and Joel from the Alumni team for their exceptional support throughout my stay and help developing a rock solid exit plan. All this being said, I want to make people aware that this facility has no problem filling their building well past the capacity for the number of staff they have. There were quite often too few nurses to handle the number of people that had to get medications both in the morning and at night. Zero processes were in place and it became a zoo. I can only speak for my counselor, but by the time I left she was too busy as she completely missed setting up my family one on one. She just stated "I just ran out of time". In addition, my care coordinator was a nice guy but completely and utterly dropped the ball on my sober living and a few other big ticket items I needed to depart and I was nearly left without a place to stay (homeless) if I had not taken action. I attempted to stay involved but I was just told to "trust me" and nothing happened until the day before I left and then they were all in mandatory training. (thank you Cecelia and Resha for helping me bail this situation out). The thing that really affected my stay the most and what you the reader need to be made aware of was that there were several events of drug use in the facility, specifically THC vape pens. The facility needs to do a much better job of monitoring for illicit drugs. They state they have a drug dog on placards around the facility, but there was never one present during my stay and I suspect this was from the days when they belonged to Memorial Herman. The worst part, on one occasion, a resident was caught using the drugs, was not remorseful, was not taking the program seriously at all (did not attend groups, slept all day, wandered around smoking vape inside, etc) and was just allowed to stay. When this was escalated, the only answer given was we did not know the whole story, but what more to the story is there than they used drugs and got caught ( I was present during this entire escapade) The rules for the facility that are received on day 1 state clearly that possession, distribution or use of illicit drugs is strictly prohibited and are grounds for "IMMEDIATE DISCHARGE". I spoke up about this during our community group and was pulled to the side and found out it was because this person did not have a place to go. I stated that they do have a place to go, they can either be kicked out like every other person would be for doing the same thing or moved to a higher level facility (Level 4).In reflection, I enjoyed this facility immensely but there is not a formalized feedback methodology that actually promises results, overcrowding is a very present issue (this is a for profit deal remember), staffing among care coordinators, counselors and nurses are not appropriate to the number of patients and the rules are seemingly very flexible (i suspect unless you have great insurance lol). Thank you. Lastly before I leave, there is one BHT that either needs an attitude adjustment or just shouldn't be working there anymore. Her name starts with a Sh. You all know who she is if you have been there. She needs to be addressed.

Where to begin in thanking PRC for giving me the tools to save myself. Super friendly right from the beginning. Admissions had me scheduled for check in before I got there. Linda was compassionate and kind as she was doing my intake assessment. When I was taken to the men's dorm, Ron, gave me the lay of the land and made sure to remind me I chose to come here because I wanted to live differently. Colleen, Reanna, Jaime and Kevin provided insightful exercises that not only challenged my understanding of my disease they also allowed me to understand myself in a new way. Dr Powers' Positive Psychology is amazing and I can't thank him and the staff enough for my recovery.

This was the best decision I could have made for my mental wellness. Everyone has life issues and experiences. Sometimes you don t know you need professional help until you re in the middle of it. Well I was. I am blessed to have a support system who was on board for my self care.I researched various IOPs/PHPs that my psychiatrist suggested. The Heights Treatment sounded like the best fit for me. Based on reviews and researching the area, solidified my choice to start treatment there. So I did. From the intake for IOP5, to individual therapy sessions, to group sessions including equine therapy, to individual sessions with Dr. R, was well thought out to get this group of professionals to help people. The one who held it together with scheduling to communicating to even listening for a couple of minutes in passing, was truly a blessing. Their client care services, Adam, is kind and professional. They all make you feel welcome.Bre - my therapist, help tremendously. Various group sessions, helped me realize so much. They gave me the tools to help me reach my goals. They helped me choose to do the work. Be it daily checking in, verbalizing my emotion at the time, concerns, etc, these are the things for me, that were so beneficial in my mental wellness.Trust your gut. Don t hesitate to get the help. If you choose The Heights Treatment, you will be in great hands.

This is a Fantastic Hospital! Usually there is not a long wait. The people working there are very skilled and knowledgeable about what they need to do to help and take care of me whenever I come. I always leave with the best medical treatment and good instructions about how to take care of myself when I get home.Wherever I am in the city, when I have a medical emergency, I always tell the ambulance to take me to St. Joseph's Hospital Downtown.
