Honestly, this place has helped me tremendously! I ve been coming here for 5 years! I would likely be further along in the process of recovery but my original counselor purposely held me back many times. She was eventually fired and I thank God for that because there is no telling how many lives she disrupted being spiteful. Now I absolutely love my new counselor Crystal! I feel like she cares about us and her job! All the counselors they currently have are super respectful and seemingly genuine people that truly care about your progress. 5 years of sobriety and counting!! It wouldn't be possible without the effort of those counselors and the positive environment they now maintain on a daily basis. They truly bring a family vibe and consideration that you won't find in the majority of treatment facilities. If you're serious about your sobriety and future then I would strongly suggest this place. There support team is off the charts.

Long story short, 35 years of hard drinking landed me in a ditch in a city I'm not even from. But I thank GOD every day for it! My desperation for change got me to Briarwood detox center. I was so scared but I was unusually willing to do anything, the night before waking up in that ditch I was contemplating suicide, again. For so many years I watched my life fall apart time and time again, over and over. I really never understood why I was unable to control my drinking. Leaving Briarwood and while being transported to Nova recovery center I didn't know what to expect but my anger and anxiety were already building. I still can't get over how amazing Nova looks, it pretty much relaxes you the minute you arrive! I had never been to "rehab" before so I was blown away by the beauty of the amenities and the attentive staff. So with that said, I was sweet and grateful to be there for about 48 hours and then I started being the walking talking character defect stage character I was, telling everyone how they should do their jobs and finding things, if not inventing things to complain about. I still get embarrassed sometimes of my actions and comments I made the first weeks of my stay. But what stands out is how the staff didn't even blink! I never got the reaction I would of deserved! I was loved on! I was given understanding and compassion! They treated me like the sick person who needed help, that I was! They dug in and held me accountable with truth and what I referrer to as grace. The Recovery specialist who work with us, for us and teach us vital solutions to my disease of alcoholism that I will be forever grateful for. From the frequent individual counseling sessions to the daily group counseling classes to the, "hey I need to talk!", I received an understanding of how to maintain my life of sobriety! Nova is a very important and special place to me so I could really go on and on but the main point I want to testify about is this, I'm truly a better person today because of the dedication to helping people by the Nova recovery family!Sincerely,Dustin

They offer a full team of medical professionals to make sure you re being treated appropriately. The food while in Residential was top notch. I was surrounded by other women and men which most had a likeminded hope and faith to sobriety. I highly recommend their program to anyone struggling with addiction or alcoholism. My husband was a patient at Texas Neuro Rehab hospital twice. Once in 2014 and again in 2024. In 2014 he was 57 years old. He had by-pass surgery, there were complications, which led to a long hospital stay of over 60 days. He had three heart surgeries within about a two-week period. He was intubated twice for a total of about three weeks. He had double pneumonia. His thoracic surgeon suggested Texas NeuroRehab because of their great rehab program and expertise in dealing with pulmonary issues. When my husband arrived at Texas NeuroRehab in Jan. 2014, he was not walking, could not sit up. he was receiving tube feeds, he had double pneumonia, a bed sore, throwing up and diarrhea. Within about one week the pneumonia was much better, he had it for over six weeks in the hospital. He was up sitting in a wheelchair, no diarrhea or throwing up. The bed sore healed in less than two weeks.Within four weeks he came home on a walker. The doctors and nurses and the neurologist were outstanding and had faith that my husband would make a full recovery, which he did. They met with me each week to review his progress and were very honest about his progress, letting me know that a huge part of his recovery was his full participation in therapy sessions. He came home in four weeks on a walker. He no longer needed the walker after being home for about a week and within a month of coming home he repaired an old car. He went back to work for over 10 years. In December 2023, my husband contracted COVID, he went into the hospital on December 7, 2023. He had two seizures (he had never had a seizure in his life). Other issues occurred in the hospital causing him to get fluid in his lungs causing him to be intubated for about two weeks. He was in the hospital for about 48 days. I requested rehab at Texas NeuroRehab. Some hospital doctors and therapist tried to convince me that my husband could not tolerate three hours a day of therapy, five days a week because he was weak and unable to stand and he was 67.The Texas NeuroRehab intake nurse, Cassie McIntyre, contacted me immediately to start the process. It took almost two weeks because of issues with the hospital and insurance wanting him to go to a "skilled nursing" facility. I knew my husband would receive excellent care at Texas NeuroRehab. I said NO to a "skilled nursing" facility. Cassie encouraged me to not give up. She helped me with an insurance appeal. She and the hospital case manager, nurses and techs on the heart floor were awesome!!!!My husband arrived at Texas Neuro Rehab on Jan. 29, 2024. I stayed with him his entire stay. He was not walking; he could not stand for more than a few seconds. He was receiving tube feedings, which hospital therapists communicated he needed indefinitely and suggested putting a tube in his stomach. Within one day of being at Texas Neuro Rehab. The speech therapist, Greg did a swallow test and felt confident that my husband could start eating food, again. By Friday of the same week the tube was removed. Within about 1 1/2 weeks, I was able to dress him without help. He came home on Feb. 26, 2024. He is walking without a walker, driving, performing household tasks and completing some home repairs.I believe my husband would not have recovered and gotten back to his life, if not for the doctors and therapists. Dr. Laura Gilbey, who believed he could benefit from being at Texas Neuro Rehab and encouraged Cassie to continue working with me. Dr. Amy Arrant, Dr. "Chip" and therapist at Texas Neuro Rehab - Greg, Cameron, Michelle, Jennifer, Jessika. They believe he would return home to live a normal life, taking care of himself without assistance. The facility was very clean. Nurses, techs and front desk staff were very professional and caring. The insurance denied my husband's last week stay at Texas NeuroRehab. Dr. Arrant refused to send him home because he was not medically ready to be discharged. I cannot thank Dr. Arrant enough for keeping my husband at Texas NeuroRehab until he was ready to be released.Blessings Texas Neuro Rehab staff!!

I really love this clinic, all the nurses with no exceptions are so kind and very nice, they always keep a smile in their faces, even though they have to put up with a lot of different people, also the Doctor is super nice and understanding. All what you have to do is follow the rules and you will have a very smooth way to recovery, as my counselor Stephanie said they are not our enemy, they are there to help us, so if they ask you for a urin simple or something just do it because that can save your life.Anyway, I recommend this clinic to anyone that is struggling with the addiction, there is help out there, don t give up.Ok the only bad thing about the higher management is that they love money, if you miss couple of payments they will make your recovery super hard, to me they are exactly like the drug dealers in the street, you get your drugs if you pay,( again it s the higher management), but the clinic staff are very nice.

This place simply put, saved my life. I, like many others, have been to multiple treatments. But it ended with ru. The reason it's so different from other rehabs, is one, yes, the use of the arts, particularly music in programing, but also their ALUMNI PROGRAM. it rly makes all of the difference. They focus on community while you're in there, but they also call you and check in on you after. So that when you leave, you're not just dropped off all alone. There's a meeting once every Wednesday for you to go to, and every month there's a party/show. Which acts as a huge open mic/"class reunion." Both of those are open to anyone who's ever received services here. I think another thing that rly makes a difference, is that they prepare you for the possibility of relapse. You will leave here with a safety plan. I read somewhere that their relapse rate was lower than other facilities in the area. And i belive it. Its the aftercare. I called once YEARS ago...but chickened out...and Britney from the alumni staff stayed in touch with me for literal years until I finally realized that there was no choice left but come in and get help...im still in touch with most of the clients i went through ru with, and all these years later, Britney and the alumni staff. These people specialize in slaying dragons right along with you...not all heroes wear capes. And I know they're some of mine. If you're seeking sobriety...please, come join the family.<3

I have stayed at this hospital twice, both stays I was treated with care, concern and respect and so appreciated all the time outdoors we got on the large beautiful patio. You are able to spend at least half your time outside about which was HUGE in my recovery personally, I'm sad the new hospital will not offer this. My doctors seemed to have very genuine concern for me and the staff was really nice. I highly recommend this facility. Only complaint is that in my second stay there was no hot water for the women left after the men showered on that unit. Some of the staff was really wonderful and advocated for us to have a rotation or to be able to shower in the mornings however. Otherwise best hospital I've ever been to and I've been to a few. Daily classes are available, access to computers a couple times a week and peer support specialists.

Everyone was very kind to my child and was willing to help him.
