Medical briefcase icon Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

After completing some form of inpatient care, many clients transition or step down to an outpatient rehab, while some choose to transition from detox directly into outpatient care. High-intensity outpatient programming, including partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) is widely available for clients in early recovery, those leaving detox, and those at an elevated relapse risk. Clients in outpatient care generally engage in robust addiction counseling and recovery education, and some also receive medication assisted treatment (MAT).

inpatient iconInpatient Rehab

Inpatient rehab programs are geared toward clients in early recovery. They also provide intensive support for clients in crisis and those at an increased relapse risk. Clients receive housing and meals while in inpatient care, allowing them to focus solely on their recovery. Most programs prioritize addiction counseling but may draw on various psychotherapeutic modalities, including CBT, DBT, RBT, trauma therapy, and motivational interviewing. Life skills training and holistic therapies are also common in inpatient care.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

The Texas Health Behavioral Health Intensive Outpatient Programs are for individuals needing a structured therapy program that offers counseling and education in a group setting. Clinicians work with physicians on the medical staff to provide daily support and a safe place to talk, learn problem-solving skills and practice stress-reduction techniques. Texas Health Behavioral Health also offers the following Specialized Intensive Outpatient Programs: Women, young adult and working professionals.

aftercare iconAftercare

Rehab aftercare programs are based on a model of continuing care and the premise that recovery is a life-long process requiring ongoing client support. Many rehab aftercare services include outpatient care, but clients often continue to receive support after being discharged from formal treatment. Case managers and care teams typically collaborate with clients to design their long-term care plan, which may include peer coaching, career counseling, and 12 step program induction, among other services.

Heart icon Treatment

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

During rehab in Texas, you'll deal with underlying issues that contribute to addiction. By addressing these challenges and learning healthy ways to cope with them, you'll develop strategies that help you live a drug-free lifestyle.

check iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

mental-health iconMental Health and Substance Abuse

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Hand holding medical sign icon Clinical Services

inpatient-file iconCognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

family iconFamily Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

life-skills iconLife Skills

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

I went here for a psychiatric crisis. After they took care of me in the ER, I was moved to ICU. Then to Springwood Behavioral Health. My whole experience here was like something from a bad Lifetime movie.I brought all my medications with me, so that staff would know what I was taking and how much. Not only was I NEVER administered some of my HEART medications, they gave me extra meds I did not need. And now, somehow ALL the meds I brought with me, many a 90 day supply, almost 1000$ worth of medications, cannot be found anywhere in the hospital or psych facility.Avoid this hospital, and Springwood, at all costs. The facility was dirty, slips and falls were a real hazard since showers run out onto the floor.I never felt safe there.Nurses who administered my meds I did get were green and so nervous they were shaking. It's a big joke.If you love your loved ones, DO NOT let them go here.

Myself and my wife feel abused and devasted by the delivery experience here. Now after returning from hospital we were curious what other patients delivery experiences are and found out epidural issue along with other issues regarding delivery. The anesthesiologist had to try insert the epidural twice with unforeseen label of pain my wife had to endure. She had epidural before for our first kid and we know how the experience is. Then both of her leg started jerking and lower part of the body specially left leg went numb. The duty doctor said, they have never seen anything like it. Now after reading the reviews I see another patient giving review on the same issue who had to try three times epidural and same left side numb issue. So, the anesthesiologists are regularly bad at it. Then the duty doctor decided to stop epidural to prevent possible nerve damage/or medication reaching cerebrospinal fluid. The contraction pain was 100% felt right before delivery (the cervix was fully dilated by that time). The doctor failed to inform on duty nurse that they stopped anesthesia and nurse did not check the dilation that time. So, she had to endure full pain. After crying and screaming for help while my wife going through hell, they made a slow decision to inject something. While going through pain, here comes a new "racist" nurse who was shouting and blaming my wife for not pushing hard in a very rude voice while going through that pain and lower part numbed by the epidural related mishap. By the grace of God we went through it and still both of us feeling uncared and abused. If you are immigrant with brown skin and want to get a cordial care, I don't recommend delivering here. The uncordial attitude continued right before departure as well, the responsible staff refused to bring a wheelchair even though I asked, then when my wife informed that she is feeling dizzy after walking a little, only then she brought a wheelchair. All these conversation was going with their uncordial expression and no smile. We felt very uncared for and racist attitude throughout our stay. Only few nurse/staff was cordial where we did feel cared for. We actually felt the necessity of verbally thanking them for their cordial care amidst all these bad feeling. We feel sorry and sad to write these words and still have that feeling of being abused and uncared for. This should not happen to any women during most fragile yet happy moment of their life.

I had my daughter in April 2021 and it was the most worst traumatic experience of my life!! The nurses were horrible, rude, disrespectful and pushy. They also ignored what I needed as a patient. Ignored me that something was wrong with the epidural because I was still in pain. Even the anesthesia came and checked on me and I told them what was going on even the anesthesia doctor yelled at my nurse and told her to get out because he should have been called sooner( she was never back in my room). My daughter wasn t coming out and they ignored my concerns about her being stuck!! When they finally said she wasnt coming they had me go to c section and I was in c section shaking so bad that they couldn t stitch me up so before they put me to sleep during c section I heard the doctor say wow she was really stuck then I was out for hours before I woke up. I was anemic before delivery and lost lots of blood in c section and then hemoraged after when I went to stand up to walk. They only gave me iron pills when I should have gotten a blood transfusion I was sick from that for over a year. Then during the postpartum stay my daughter was in pain and no one was listening to me or took me seriously. She wasn t pooping on her own so they cheated and gave her a suppository so we could leave instead of them checking her out further. The night we were released we had to rush my daughter to cook children s because she was very ill and vomiting green bile at just 3 days old!! She ended up have a major birth defect that could have costed her life!!! All because they wanted to discharge me and not do their jobs. I always beat myself up about not writing a review earlier or writing a letter but now I m going to post the review because I think this is something that should never happen ever!!! I think about this so often it has been diagnosed as PTSD. I will never ever recommend this hospital ever!! I m so glad I never have to deliver here ever again.

I am writing this in case something happens to my Daughter or her baby. They cannot get her out of pain because of only one anesthesiologist. Today 8/3 and her doctor Vallery is across the street at her practice. This is not an upset parent. There NPS score is a 33% in labor and delivery. Room 105 in LDThis is ridiculous!

Twice in one month I went in for abdominal pain. CT shows nothing or so they say. They asked for a urine e sample and it sat on the counter and was never tested but they gave me results of a urine test saying no infection. Send me home in pain. I am a cancer survivor. There IS something wrong and these doctors just act like I'm faking. I refuse narcotics for pain. And the phlebotomist bruised both my arms. And did not get the meds in me. I have notified my oncologist of this horrible medical care.
