I've had the worst and most infuriating patient experience ever from this office (and this isn't the first time either). Had a follow up appointment online on Saturday, 4/9/2022. and checked in 10 minutes ahead of time. 10 minutes passed by and still did not receive an email to the webex meeting ID, so I was concerned and called the office to see what's going on.I was told by the receptionist that doctors can sometimes run late for an appointment and that I should receive a call shortly by the MA. 40 minutes passed the appointment and still received no call, so since I was concerned, I called the office again. Receptionist confirmed that I checked in and appointment is still on but transferred me to the MA. The MA denied there was an appointment despite the system and receptionist already confirming it and said she will look into it. Without any warning or follow up, the MA transfer me to the receptionist and that is NOT acceptable! What is wrong with the MA? Instead of actually helping out the patient, she had no answer so she transfers without any warning to escape ownership?? The receptionist stated it may have been a technical issue and suggested to reschedule. As a conclusion, I simply cannot understand how I've experienced a no show on my appointment, despite receiving an email and sms confirmation and checking in. What boggles my mind even more is how unprofessional the staff members are for not following up or taking ownership of their work. If I had never called to follow up, I can't imagine how long I would've waited for an appointment that did not exist. I've wasted my entire morning on this bs. Owner and Office Manager, I hope you're reading this. If you truly care about your patients, please re-train your entire front office staff and instill accountability! This is not acceptable!Update (10/8/2022): Initially gave one star but recent experience has been pleasant. Joyce Kim is an amazing provider and the staff was great. Upgraded to 5 stars.Update (9/7/2024): Had a negative experience because of the disorganized front office staff. Downgraded to 3 stars.

Giving one star because I can't give zero. I wish I would have read the reviews about this place before ever wasting my time here. I only have insurance for 3 months and time is up and I haven't even seen a Dr . The first time I called, I told them I needed to schedule an appointment with my PCP. They told me I had to go through intake first and didn't have an available intake appointment until a month later. So I finally have my intake appointment and was informed the intake appointment is only for mental health and I could have scheduled with my PCP a month prior. So they scheduled me a PCP appointment the day of my intake, I showed up and they informed me my appointment was over the phone for a facility in tempe. When my appointment was being scheduled I told them I wanted in office at THIS location and gave them the name of my PCP. I rescheduled for today and showed up to my appointment just for them to tell me they "tried to call to confirm" and since I didn't answer they CANCELLED my appointment. Then WHY did I receive a text a few hours before my appointment asking me to fill out paperwork I had already filled out at my last attempt to see a Dr, which terros botched? I also still have not been scheduled a therapist appointment although I received an email with the therapist they assigned me attached to the email stating she was going to call me asap to schedule something. HERE WE ARE THREE WEEKS LATER AND I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED A CALL. HERE WE ARE THREE MONTHS LATER AND I STILL HAVE NOT SEEN A PCP. DO NOT WASTE YOUR PRECIOUS TIME AND ENERGY ON THIS OFFICE FULL OF INCOMPATANCE.

Terros Health – Olive Health Center -Primary Care works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs support clients' successful reintegration into their home, workplace, and community. Drug rehab aftercare presumes that recovery requires life-long support. These programs typically offer a wide variety of services customized for the clients' unique and evolving needs. Clients may receive vocational training and career counseling, housing assistance, legal aid, peer coaching, and 12 step program induction, among other services. Clients' case managers often play a lead role in rehab aftercare planning.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
The initial phase of recovery treatment typically includes 24-hour clinical care in Arizona. This constant supervision ensures a safe detox process, which helps the individual physically stabilize from substance use. Patients will receive medications to curb withdrawal symptoms and cravings, as well as other necessary medical treatment. This period typically lasts up to a week, then the individual will receive medical clearance to begin inpatient or outpatient rehab.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
The safest way to remove addictive substances from your body is done under the care of licensed medical professionals. Known as medically assisted detox, this level of care is typically in an inpatient setting with a team of medical experts that may include doctors, nurses, and mental health clinicians. Medications like Suboxone, methadone, or Vivitrol may be administered to help alleviate withdrawal symptoms.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical behavior therapy in Arizona focuses on acceptance of your reality and behaviors while also attempting to make changes in unhealthy behaviors. It has been shown to be effective for the treatment of anxiety, depression, PTSD, and substance use disorder.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

The goal of motivational interviewing in Arizona is to enhance your confidence in your ability to make changes in your life. It encourages you to commit to change and plan for the process of making those changes that will allow you to reach your goals.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Some nicotine replacement therapy options are available over the counter. Others require a prescription from your doctor. Common forms in Arizona include nicotine patches, gum, and lozenges. Quit smoking medications are also available.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is a branch of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Established in 1992 by congress, SAMHSA's mission is to reduce the impact of substance abuse and mental illness on American's communities.

They never return my calls, it takes a long time for me to get my medication, they don't let me talk with any doctor, the person in charge is never available. Nobody in this place has contacted me to explain what the problem is.

I used to really believe Terros caredI am in the Medication Assisted Treatment programHave been for almost a decade. All the phone numbers for my nurses were shut off overnight and for days I tried to get someone in the main office to pick up a phone but it just rang and rang.If they cared they would have sent a letter too all of us letting us know they changed the ENTIRE structure of the program and all contact information we had. My anxiety and panic has been at insane levels for a week! You have any idea how this stupid roll out impacted us when we cannot reach our nurse? You are pathetic and out of touch with all of us.You suck.

Unfortunately, I have to give this facility one star just to give a review; I would hands down give 0 stars if it were possible.First experience was with Dr. Kim, where she basically accused me of being a drug addict because MJ showed up in my system, but the Adderall I had been on for years wasn't. Yet I was informed part of my sample was just missing? Needless to say, never saw her again and started seeing someone at Stapely Center.Sadly, the provider recently left and I was forced to find another. Opted to try the Olive Center again, as it is BY FAR closer to my home, but oh my lanta, WHAT A MISTAKE.Appointment was scheduled for 1140 and I arrived roughly 1144. After waiting a couple minutes for the front desk to assist me, as one was helping someone else and the other was on the phone, I'm told since it's 1147, I've missed my appointment time and now need to schedule another.I will never, EVER be returning to this facility. I will drive my happy all the way to freaking Mesa to be seen at the Stapely Center Terros.

This place should not be allowed to operate. It's like the McDonald's of healthcare. Was referred here, not by choice for a monthly shot, and have missed 2 doses. First one, the apparently do not understand how insurance works, took them a month to figure that out to finally get scheduled for the 2nd month treatment. Show up today and they say come back later. We come back later and tell us that they don't even have it. They sent it to the wrong place and told us we can go there instead.I feel terribly sorry for anyone who is forced to use this place.

Worst service, they are the number on my insurance card for a PCP & I have called 3 separate times just trying to schedule an appointment. If you re too busy to accept new patients just say that rather than being so unprofessional, I do hope the calls are recorded to see how no one does their job here. Waited on hold for 16 minutes just to be hung up on and when I called back they picked up but immediately put me on hold again without saying so. If I could leave 0 stars I would.

Don't even want to leave one star because it was such a giant waste of time and anyone working here has NO IDEA what they are doing. Bertha Mbatau is also the most unknowledgeable psychiatrist I have ever met! She is very rude and acts like she hates her life and everyone coming into it. All she did was stare at a computer screen. And act like I wasn't even there. I didn't receive any help.

It was decent and I went there for a while The rooms were always ice cold during the winter and too warm during the summer. I have them set up as my PCP for a while and then all the sudden one day the doctor I was using quit and nobody was notified and then I found a new PCP.

I ve been through a couple psychiatrists here and they are all very bland and don t even care about you as a person they all feel like robots your dealing with mentally sick patients that are battling every single day with there emotions you would think that would make them a little more compassionate..but sadly that s not true they treat you as if your a burden ..makes no sense going into a profession as serious as this one to treat people like they are an inconvenience to your day makes me sick.. bertha is who I ve been seeing and she acts like everything I say is a problem or either gaslights me or makes me feel like I m crazy for wondering what s going on with myself tip of the day .. respect and listen to your patients maybe use eye contact or show a little compassion to the people who are struggling ..or get out of this field
