Fear of withdrawal keeps many people locked in the vicious cycle of active substance use. Many people want to stop using, but simply don’t know how to deal with the physical withdrawal caused by drugs like heroin, prescription painkillers, benzos, and alcohol. Their comprehensive detoxification process provides patients with the environment of care needed to successfully transition from withdrawal to stabilization and holistic well-being.

Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

I went to this facility about 10 years ago. I do not believe in the ideology of teen challenge. As a Christian, pursuing Christ is a personal decision that everyone has to make for themselves. I do not believe forcing someone to sit through 4-6 hours a day of bible doctrine classes is going to benefit an individual that does not want to be there at all. Teen challenge would argue no one is being forced to be there but for the majority of people there its court mandated so its prision or teen challenge. I agree that God can heal anything including addiction but this facility does nothing to treat the underlying issues of addiction on a scientific level AT ALL. I was miserable the majority of the time I spent here until I transferred to a Veterans facility. It is human nature to reject anything that it is being force fed down your throat regardless of what those views are. I remeber specific times where staff would listen outside your door at night for any "inappropriate language" , that would result in you have to write hours upon hours of bible verses the next day. Also, I disagreed with a majority of the doctrine interpretations that were being tought by staff to other members that were receiving treatment. The main issue I had was a calvanistic approach to Christianity that I do not believe is sound doctrine. If you are looking at treatment for addiction as a Christian I would highly recommend getting support from your local church or pastor, not teen challenge.

We appreciate your sentiments and understand your position. We have, since you have attended add evidence-based treatment concurrently while students are in our long term program. Now our students benefit from both a Christ-focused approach and added clinical services to build their recovery foundation.

This should not appear in google searches for doctors, hospitals nor mental health care.

Good evening. Our facility is not listed on our google my business profile as a doctor, hospital or mental healthcare facility, instead we are simply listed as a drug rehabilitation and drug treatment facility, as we are a state licensed treatment facility. If you have any further questions or concerns please don t hesitate to contact us. Thanks.

When I went to teen challenge, I fought it all the way at first. When I arrived I was greeted with the nicest , caring, staff that made me feel welcome, warm and comfortable. During my stay at TC I learned alot about myself and how to deal with life head on. I was able to learn about God and work on my relationship with God. Everyone at TC between the staff and the clients have touched my life in away I just can't explain I would reccomend teen challenge to anyone who is struggling and is ready to surrender. None of us r alone in this journey. God bless you and I wish y'all the best... # GOD US GREAT!!!!

Adult and Teen Challenge is a great program with strong discipline and is long term faith based. I would recommend this program to anyone struggling with addiction. There are many 30,60,90 programs out there and they are a great stepping stones but really believe long term helps the student find the root to the issues that may cause their struggles. I love the fact that they have a restoration program for those who need to come back if still struggling. The newest addition to the program of the 50 year history of Adult and Teen Challenge is a Detox and 30 day program which are greatly needed with the national opioid problems. The Hope of the Adult and Teen Challenge program is that those in the 30 day program will decide to stay for the long term a Faith based program.

Teen Challenge is a great and powerful ministry where lives are changed for the better!!! It's a place full of love and compassion with a staff that cares deeply for its clients. Teen Challenge offers a personal level of care that you just don't get in other rehabs. If you're struggling with addiction and need to be in a safe, understanding, and helpful environment, this just might be the place for you!!!

Teen Challenge has been a huge part of my life over the past 15 years and has been a blessing and instrument God has used in my sobriety and my still being alive. It has helped me also with my journey with Christ and my understanding of Him and how to develop more character like Him. I am deeply grateful to the Ministry and all the men God has brought into my life over these years and the great opportunities Teen Challenge has opened for me. I would like to also thank Pastor David Lewis for his steadfast love for all the men that come through this program and what he has done as a Brother-in-Christ for me. God Bless.

WPATC is a great organization that has helped me in miraculous ways and is continuing to do so in the intern program I am currently working in. The staff at WPATC are great men and women that devote themselves to the work of helping those in recovery and they do so with a well rounded approach. I personally have been to many programs to get help with my addiction and in my opinion this is the best organization to send your loved one if they are struggling with addiction.

Teen Challenge has been instrumental in changing my son's life and many others that have struggled for years with addiction. The most important element to me personally is that he was taught the life saving gospel of Jesus Christ. I grew up knowing of Teen Challenge and am grateful that it was a life changer in my child's life. I can happily say that I now work for them and can see God move in the lives of many. The staff has genuine concern of helping these men walk in freedom. It's a place where compassion and love is shown instead of judgement.

Response from the owner6 months ago
Thank you Sheryl! I'm so happy to hear your son is doing well :)
