All I will say is that I hope Murray has matured in His faith, and actually promotes grace, he severely lacked this year's ago.Update (08/25/2024), many years later, I read your reply and you know anyone can throw scripture out there, (even the devil knows scripture) but being applicable with it is what matters. Refusing to own the lack of grace bestowed back then but rather justify by throwing scripture shows no maturity existed and shows you believe deflection works best.I will return in another few years and see if Grace has yet to find it's place.Update 08/26/2024Wow, more scripture, more deflection but no ownership, that didn't take long, and only confirms that which was earlier stated.Again, scripture given with no application shows the lack of understanding and thereby will change no one if not applied.

Timothy, certainly everyone is entitled to his own opinion. Jesus says, in Luke 6:26, Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets. I take seriously what Peter wrote, in 2 Peter 3:18, But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. I also know that bitterness and unforgiveness are heavy rocks to carry. I am thankful that Jesus yoke is easy and His burden is light, and so I say to you what Paul wrote to the Corinthian believers, Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 1:3) Romans 8:31-34 (KJV) 31 What shall we then say to these things? IF GOD BE FOR US, WHO CAN BE AGAINST US? 32 He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? 33 WHO SHALL LAY ANY THING TO THE CHARGE OF GOD S ELECT? IT IS GOD THAT JUSTIFIETH. 34 Who is he that condemneth? IT IS CHRIST THAT DIED, YEA RATHER, THAT IS RISEN AGAIN, WHO IS EVEN AT THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD, WHO ALSO MAKETH INTERCESSION FOR US. THANK YOU, JESUS!!! Hello, Timothy. If we keep this up, before you know it, we will have written a book. Amen. Some Scripture for you to reflect (not deflect) upon: Matthew 6:14-15; 18:21-35. Mark 11:25. James 1:22. Matthew 5:44. Colossians 1:20; 3:15. May God deliver you and heal you from the hurts of the past and give you peace. In the Name of Jesus! Peace. Remember this line from a Gospel hymn? - Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there. BE BLESSED!

I went there back in 1979. I was a rebellious teenager with a suspended sentence to OYC. I can't say anything bad about it. I really enjoyed working in the machine shop.I got kicked out for of all things standing outside the dorm on the hill and getting high before church. It was a good experience for me. Really my first interaction with Jesus people. I remember the man who ran the machine shop asking me to help clean a building they threw all the garbage bags in before we took them to the dump. As we worked he told what Jesus did for him and it was really impressive. Keep up the good work. Even those of us who didn't make it there were able to go on to find the Lord. Keep planting seeds.

Honestly was one of the worse experiences of my life. I told the heavyset bald guy I needed my psyc meds he said no just pray over me. Over the course of the month of my mental health going down and slave labor my counselor was stoned some days the staff would steal food donations for the guys and eat and drink it themselves, they took away my workout including me aloud to walk around for exercise because I smoked a cigarette, being punished is it me thing but not being aloud to walk around?!?That was the final straw after a few days I tweaked and left the fat bald guy with glasses broke the law after called my now wife and a few other people and told them what happened. I left in cuffs do to a warrant but HIPPA ya know. It was like 2am and we were having another church service pastor Murphy and his red head virgin son would force us to stay up til 1 2 even 3 am sometimes for church and we would still have to be up at like 6 am.Any how the cops even said how crazy the place was .I was told if I left I would go to hell and relapse and yadayadayadaI'm sober and been since.A man there once told me we are getting brainwashed because our brains are so dirty I'll never forget that he thought he was making a good point with that.I felt bad for brother Wagner he could be souch if he wasn't there I hope that pace didn't take him down.Last thing even if you pay they make you do slave labor another location also will still charge your insurance not sure about this location and steal it from you state check if you get it. Insurance fraud much . If you care about becoming sober don't listen to their B's numbers I was told like 98% success rate NO nowhere has that.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Ohio provides comprehensive treatment to address the physical and psychological needs of those struggling with substance use disorders. This may involve inpatient and/or outpatient care.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Recreational therapy (aka therapeutic recreation) uses creative and fun activities to help with addiction recovery. Recreational therapists lead patients in entertaining and engaging activities like sports or games; art (drawing, painting, sculpture); drama, music, and dance; and/or community outings (field trips) to improve patients' physical, social, and emotional well-being.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Thank You, Brother and Sister Murray! I'm forever grateful for having had this amazing opportunity. I probably wasn't the most pleasant to be around at all times, lol...but you and the staff, through the love, mercy and grace of Jesus Christ, have enabled me to be the man my family deserves!

I tried this program many years ago. I really don't have anything bad to say about it. The people were really great, minus a few of the counselors. I went into the program not knowing how religious it was. It ended up being too much for me to wrap my head around. When I decided to leave, I wasn't happy about how I was treated. When I think back on it, these people wanted me to stay, not because it benefited them in any way. But because they cared about my well being. I have 8 years sober this year and God has blessed my life in more ways than I can count. God bless Pastor Murray and everyone at teen challenge! While this approach isn't really my style, it still helped me find God, and for that, im forever grateful.

This was controlling. I was held against my will. They stole my 550.00

Response from the owner2 years ago
Controlling? Yes, there are rules to go by and a structured environment with scheduled activities throughout the day. We do NOT keep anyone against their will. We are not sure how our giving this gentleman a ride to the closest Motel 6 constitutes being "held against my will." As for "They stole my 550.00"...if something was really stolen that should be reported to the police. We wish you the best, Joe, and hope you find the help you need at your next stop in your life's journey.

I have nothing bad to say about TC. The staff was great except for 1 person. He was mean for no reason. But he ended up going through the re-entry program after I left, so obviously he was still dealing with issues. I regret not finishing the program. I think things would have been a lot different for me had I finished. But God finally delivered me from addiction. I still use the tools I received from my 10 months at TC. But I still feel like I missed out on a blessing for not finishing the program. It s a good program that will shape you into the man God wants you to be if you let it. Staff there aren t perfect, they make mistakes too. So if you are lost and looking for something better out of life. Then give TC a chance, what do you have to lose?

Response from the owner2 years ago
Thank you, Mr. Dyer, for your input. As you are well aware, but many viewers are not, we are a Christ-centered , Bible-based, discipleship ministry that seeks to help men, 18 and over, who need help in overcoming life-controlling problems such as, but not limited to, drug and alcohol abuse. We believe the primary difference maker is a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. The challenge of Jesus to each us, in Luke 9:23, is to deny ourselves, take up our cross daily and follow Him. That is not something we can do in our own strength, but the Apostle Paul's testimony in Philippians 4:13 (NKJV) has also become the testimony of many Teen Challenge students / program participants: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Over the years we have observed how God uses imperfect people to help imperfect people, with the understanding that we all need God's help more than anything, and so we continue to emphasize the importance of having a growing personal relationship with Jesus. In Isaiah 41:10 (MEV), we have this word of encouragement: Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, yes, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.
