My son had been through 5 other rehabs before I found Adult teen challenge through a friend. He had successfully made it through the one year program and is now sober almost 5 years. He stayed with them to work and is now assistant director. I highly recommend this place.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

A person with substance dependence can achieve recovery through drug rehab in Vermont. Professional staff provide a combination of interventions that are designed to help you attain and maintain abstinence from drugs.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Recreational therapy (aka therapeutic recreation) uses creative and fun activities to help with addiction recovery. Recreational therapists lead patients in entertaining and engaging activities like sports or games; art (drawing, painting, sculpture); drama, music, and dance; and/or community outings (field trips) to improve patients' physical, social, and emotional well-being.

This place is awful they threaten you, the pastor was sleeping with a graduate who was running the women's home. Was told I would die after relapse if I left, but don't help with a safe exit plan. They make you go sell cutting boards in awful weather snow 8 degrees or blistering heat and if you don't will throw you out. Raise money for siding we never purchased nor got. How 50 people have food stamps I don't see how it's legal. Place needs to be shut down for sure

I have not been an addict but have grown to know and love this place and the folks it serves. Lives are being changed from the inside out as they learn to turn their lives over to Jesus Christ. I've gotten to befriend both staff members and residents by administering a fundraising event benefiting ATCVT.The Tour de Slate 'ride to end addiction' gives us an up close view of the internal joy they receive from being freed from the slavery of addiction! Pictured are residents and staff enjoying their ride in Tour de Slate.

This program was a life changing experience. I grew up in a broken home and was in active addiction from 2006 until 2022. I did know who God was and teen challenge introduced me to the the word of God and helped me to not only make a relationship with the Lord but also helped me through many struggles legally and emotionally. Helping me get my family back in my life. I m know sober and an inspiration to others, I m and so grateful for everything this program did for me and the others I have been through the program with. It s not a facility it s a home full of people looking to change their lives

I am a graduate of adult and teen challenge Vermont. My experience there was something I could have never imagined not only is the campus beautiful but the views are endless and incredibly stunning. The staff at adult and teen challenge Vermont are well equipped with the knowledge and experience to guide the residents through their 12 month journey. Each staff member is a graduate of the program so they know exactly what the residents are facing on a day to day basis allowing them to be able to guide them through any challenges or emotions they may face. This place is extremely special to me and I would absolutely recommend giving them a call to tour the campus if you are struggling to find yourself and gain a relationship with the one that will change your life.JESUS CHRIST!

Our family will forever be thankful for Vermont Adult Teen Challenge. It is there, that our son was able to break chains of Addiction through saving grace of Jesus Christ. He had been to two rehabs, sober living, outpatient therapy, none were successful. The program, the staff, were helpful, encouraging, to our son and our family. The program, is not easy, it will take work to over come all that addiction has done the them. Our son is 7 year free from the bonds of Addiction, praise God. There is hope!
