Recently, my loved one had the opportunity to experience the program offered at A&T Challenge Graham WA campus.Even though it turned out that this particular program was not a good fit for them, I believe it taught them some life lessons which will serve them well in the future.sadly, there were issues that surfaced during the six weeks 6/26-8/11 2024 of my loved one's residency at the A&T Challenge Graham WA campus which cause concern for the overall well-being of all the residents. I hope and pray those issues will be addressed and improved upon for the good of each resident and a greater success rate.1. Not being forthright about the demands of the program schedule. In reality, it's like boot camp. Very controlled, regimented and fast paced. For those residents who struggle keeping up with those demands while trying to get the help they need to overcome their addiction and or improve their mental health, this particular program adds to the already stressful circumstances those residents face. It is vital that program policy and the daily structure is clearly presented to the resident and their financial supporters before a commitment is made.2. The lack of availability of well-trained staff, both to handle the variety of issues that arise on a daily basis with residents who are in a fragile state, and for the academics involved. The fact that the counselor was let go, and the alternative means for counseling were not followed through in a professional manner; being late to the in-person appointment causing a reschedule. Not being able to provide transportation for another in-person appointment, then forgetting to get my loved one connected to the Zoom counseling appointment. Not allowing a non-addictive, physician prescribed medication (Trazodone) which could have greatly increased the well-being factor by simply getting a better night's sleep. Not having the medical exam at the beginning of the program, to evaluate my loved one's overall health condition. Not once notifying me that my loved one was taken to a mental health hospital or to the emergency department for chest pain. The overall mishandling of the mental, emotional and physical needs of my loved one. The teacher not being present the majority of the time. The excessive amount of resident labor to keep them busy. The lack of allowed quiet time. The leadership referring to this program as a sabbatical, when in reality it is not a place to rest one's weary soul while developing a new life as the addiction and unhealthy behaviors are addressed. In conclusion, I believe the Adult&Teen Challenge Graham WA campus is not fully equipped to take on the challenges presented to them.Being an equipped, godly example should not include manipulation or dishonesty to control residents, or present a false picture to the financial supporters of how the program is executed.Integrity is the only way to lead.INTEGRITYBeing honest, accountable - doing what's right, even if no one is around to see it.Sincerely,Eva S.August 2024.EDUCATIONAL NOTES:Trazodone isn't a controlled substance or a stimulant. It doesn't have a risk of addiction, misuse, or dependence.

I don't wish this place on my worst enemy. I feel like this place should get closed down and investigated for what they do. The mental abuse and all. Truth will come to light soon. Rules I can follow, wrong doings or mental abuse and straight up wrong doings I can't do... I hope n pray no one has to deal with or go threw what I had to.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Effective drug rehab in Washington integrates care for the whole person, offering comprehensive solutions to addiction. Treatment methods address mental, physical, and relational aspects of substance abuse.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

This center is so beautiful and you feel like you are at a home filled with love. A special building just for classes. A large kitchen and cafeteria with large tables for eating. The staff and executive director are amazing. If you are looking for a place to recover from your addiction amd get closer to God. This is the place.
