Tallgrass Recovery is a spiritual retreat in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. They cater to adults who have drug and alcohol addictions. Their residential stay lasts 30 days, and there’s also a followup stay at a sober living home.

The residential program includes a mix of reflection and group activities. You’ll attend 12 Step meetings throughout the day in varying formats and topics. There’ll be time for self reflection and recreation as well. This way, you’ll get opportunities to develop peer support networks and learn new skills. All meals are included, and lights go out at midnight.

After the residential stay ends, you might be eligible for an extended stay at the sober living home. This’ll give you time to recover and plan to go back to your community. There’ll also be 12 Step programs available during your stay. However, you’ll be expected to have steady work because the rent for sober living costs you $600 per month.

Tallgrass has some positive reviews from past clients. Check out feedback from past reviewers to make sure they’re a good fit for your needs.

Tallgrass is a unique organization with the sole intention of healing and helping people whom may not believe themselves to be worthy of it. The staff are carefully selected based on their personal experiences and understanding of recovery.Which gives them the unique ability to help and guide their guests, and alumni, along the way with or without the alumni being aware of it. The only caveat is that each individual has to choose, for themselves, "to do the next right thing," for the rest of their lives.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Guests approved for enrollment will find this 30-day residential spiritual retreat to be the beginning of the most significant spiritual experience of their live. Tallgrass Recovery believes in world class quality and excellence in everything they do to provide dignity and respect and a message of hope and healing to all they serve.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs provide robust continuing care for clients in outpatient rehab and those who have been discharged from formal treatment. These programs address addiction disease as a chronic condition and recovery as a life-long process requiring ongoing client support. Clients in drug rehab aftercare receive a wide variety of services, often including peer coaching, relapse prevention support, and 12 step program induction. Case managers and care teams typically collaborate on the client's long-term care plan.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
Tallgrass Recovery runs two gender-specific homes: Norton, a women’s residence, and Doodler, a home for men. The sober living homes were designed to put personal recovery first. The homes are a community of people living together and sharing a unique goal: recovery from alcoholism and drug addiction. Regular attendance at 12-step meetings, sponsors, and a stable home environment living with like-minded individuals in recovery provide a solid foundation for the early months and years of sobriety one day at a time. Member resident fees are $500 per month. These fees include residency, utilities, cable, and local telephone service.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Support provided by drug rehab in South Dakota includes social, physical, and emotional aspects. Program participants learn how to meet needs in each of these areas without turning to drugs. The goals of the program are freedom from drug dependency and long-term recovery.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.

These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health.
