I was blind sighted when the Valet asked for a tip. If this is UW's policy the sign for free Valet parking should include "Tips are appreciated"

Orthopedic department: seldom see a real doctor. You are turned over to a nurse practitioner who may be cheerful, but does not provide much information, assumes a just trust me attitude and refers to female patients as Honey or Sweetheart. Just not for me.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
As a flexible option, a partial hospitalization program (PHP) is tailored for those who don't require 24-hour care. PHP treatment can include daily therapeutic sessions and services such as relapse prevention and medication management. Based on your needs, PHP treatment duration can average 90 days and require a minimum of 20 hours of commitment weekly. While a partial hospitalization program typically requires a commute, telehealth may be available. PHP treatment costs can vary but are often covered by most insurance.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

Had surgery 9/16/24 with the Neurosurgery team. The surgeon and their immediate team (NP) are excellent. I would definitely see them for other issues. My recovery has been flawless. BUT, their nurse team is absolutely worthless. Specifically, regarding disability insurance.Prior to my surgery, they withheld my insurance paperwork that is designed to be submitted BEFORE surgery and waited until after I had surgery to turn it in. I had to be on the phone the day after to make sure it was done. Absolutely shouldn t have to worry about this directly after surgery. I contacted patient services to complain, never received a response. THEN, when my leave got extended past the disability insurance date, they were faxed more paperwork, I messaged them on MyChart after a week of no response from the insurance, and I received no response from them. So I called and they said they never received it. Had it refaxed, same thing. I then personally faxed it and hmm they still didn t receive it. So I called it quits and went back to work early because these people only care when they get their money. I did get a response to that MyChart message, 3 weeks later .I ll tell you what though, if I have to deal with this again, I m gonna do it through a lawyer, I bet then they will receive things. Again the surgeon is amazing, the 3 nurse practitioners I have seen, amazing! The nurses who handle the communication and paperwork, worthless. Just to be clear.Response to theirs: "I contacted patient services to complain, never received a response." Why would I contact the same department who ignored me before? I've said my peace, you responded pretending to care when you don't. Enough said.

We are very sorry to hear of your experience. We strive to consistently provide Remarkable Care - this extends well beyond the physician and their team and includes all facets of your experience. We sincerely apologize for the challenges you ve encountered with our nursing and administrative teams, especially regarding your disability insurance paperwork. We understand that dealing with these issues during your recovery is frustrating, and it s clear that we fell short of meeting your expectations in this regard. First and foremost, we are thrilled to hear that your surgery and recovery were successful, and that you were pleased with the care provided by your surgeon and the nurse practitioners. We take your concerns about the lack of communication and follow-through regarding the disability paperwork seriously, as we know how important these matters are during your recovery period. While it s clear you ve already made efforts to resolve this directly with patient services, we understand that your previous experience with them has not been satisfactory. Please be assured you that your feedback has been forwarded to the appropriate contact in that department to ensure that we are addressing these communication issues. We are committed to improving the process to prevent similar situations for other patients in the future. Without having you call again, we have no way to reach out to you for more information and properly address your specific concerns and be able to directly follow up with you. Rest assured; in the meantime your concerns have been sent to the appropriate department manager. Once again, we deeply regret the inconvenience and frustration this has caused you. Your feedback is vital in helping us improve the experience we provide for all our patients. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Awful bedside manners of every nurse we came in contact with. Not only were they trash talking patients in the hallway, they also were talking about sleeping with a male coworker and making lude remarks about him. This is absolutely disgusting behavior displayed at this facility and I would be ashamed if any of these young women were my daughters. Rude and unprofessional in their care and with zero empathy towards individuals. Was advised not to seek further medical treatment because of the situation and it feels absolutely wrong. Would rather bleed out then go to this facility again.
