Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Surf Point Recovery offers a unique approach to addiction treatment that really worked for me. The combination of evidence-based practices with holistic therapies like yoga and meditation helped me address not just my addiction but the underlying issues as well. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and always available to support you. The facilities are clean, modern, and the proximity to the beach is a huge bonus. If you re serious about recovery, this is the place to be.

I can't say enough about them. The staff genuinely cares about your well-being, and the facilities are top-notch. I felt safe, supported, and like I was truly on the path to recovery. The ocean view alone was enough to help clear my mind. Highly recommend!

My name is Dexter, recovering alcoholic. This is an amazing detox and rehab recovery facility!! I would definitely recommend anyone who is suffering with an addiction, whatever it may be to make this your first choice at making the first step towards sobriety. The help you recieve is phenomenal but make sure you go for the right reason. Which is to break free from the addiction that will sooner or later kill you. It's not a vacation neither is it Burger King, so don't think you'll have it your way. Being my first time. it was a great experience and im so glad I made it there. I've met so many amazing people who truly care from the moment you walk in the door security is there to welcome you with open arms and guide you throughout the intake process. The PCC's,Counselors,Nursing staff,cooks.......mannnnnnn everybody!! It's to many to go through. But I assure all staff is amazing and so is the program. I want them to know that they are very very much appreciated! And I love them for what they do and how they helped, dealt with me and countless others.. because I know truth be told, they deal with alot that we put them through and through it all they continuously keep their composure and manage to help, counsel, care, support, uplift and keep all residents encouraged with love. The staff truly loves what they do. Special thanks to my guy Mr.C!!!,Blockbuster!! aka Mr.Paul, Mr.Frank, Daevon,Arnold,Counselor Ms.Rita, Naomi,Wallace,Leticia, Nurse Kristen and Jennifer,Securitygaurd Julian,Ms.Helen. I can go on for days but I can't remember everyone's name. I just want to give a special acknowledgement to Counselor MICHEAL FOX!!!!! aka MY COUNSELOR IS Better than yours!!!! Thank you for all your help, guidance, love and encouragement it was truly appreciated and never will be forgotten!! You truly are a gentleman and scholar good sir!. I pray for all the staff of surfpoint that God will pour into you as you daily poured in to those who were there before me, me and those who were there with me and the countless others who will come after me in Jesus Mighty Name. GOD Bless,BLOCKBUSTER!!!!!And you meet and become friends with those seeking help just like you, a recent reviewer below Xien I became cool with. God Bless you K. I recently checked myself into Surf Point Recovery and I thought is was great. The staff are really great people. The food was great and the rooms are clean. My counselor Rita was amazing she should get a raise and the PCCs Arnold, Paul, Mr. C, and Frank are great leaders of the program. Also Mr. Mike Foxx is a great influence on the clients that check in seeking help, no matter their level of detox/rehabilitation. I also want to give my flowers to Megan the receptionist for placing me in a clean room with a clean roommate. Your recovery is what you make it. Only thing I will say is bring your own cigarettes. If you plan on checking in for 28 days, make sure you go and purchase a handful for your stay.
