The first day I sent my kid to school, they sent him home, for behavior problems. What's up with that? They don't seem to be able to control him. He came home the first week with the worst problems ever. Now we're having a lot of problems. He's saying things he never said before.

The doctors are license drug dealers their solution to children's behavior problems are to dope them up with drugs. They do not have meetings with parents to inform them of the new medicine they write scripts for they want the kids to take. They have the nurse call you and tell you what to get. My kid was in this facility for 2 weeks they wrote him 4 scripts. Soon after my child started going there he started coming home saying he wanted to die.my kid is 6! Whenever the doctor or therapist call to set up meetings they pretend like they're full and schedule you for another time. When that time comes they lie and say that time is already taken even though they just scheduled you for that time. The facility is raggedy and run down.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Our son is doing so much better. It took him a few weeks to open up, once he did things were getting better for him each day. We haven't see him this way in a long time. Thank you Sundance Center!

This place was atrocious. There was zero individualized care. Group therapy was a joke; coloring activities and nurse-driven class was a 1-minute song if anything at all. There's only 1-2 techs to get daily needs, record things, protect, and check on nearly 50 patients. I was moved to several rooms in a single day, one of which I thought had black debris all over the bathroom. No, they dead bugs. I turned to tell staff and I saw a gigantic cockroach on my bed. They didn't allow me any phone calls for the first 24 hours I was there so nobody knew where I was (the patients had to help sneak me in to get a phone call during calling hours). Some of the snack and food was so bad that few patients ate. There were no techs of my gender to perform the strip search on me, I can't imagine how that would be on someone more self-conscious (you are supposed to have a right as a patient for a same-gender to look you over). And it took them hours to get to it while I was in the main unit. I could've had a weapon, drugs, or anything and nobody would've known.I came close to calling governmental authorities to report the facility for a long list of inadequacies and maltreatment. They had 1 doctor on staff for three units because one of them went on vacation and so he was working 14-hour shifts. They took my blood at 2 am in the morning and I apparently fainted. The bathroom I was in had bloody tampons under a seat in the shower; I'm a guy (despite google name), I wonder how long that was there.

If I could give this hospital 0 stars I would. They were verbal I abusive to the children and physically threatening they even made one boy talk about the sexual abuse he suffered at the hands of his stepfather in front of everyone and when I say forced I mean he stood next to him with a baseball bat in his hand. I tried to get my son out of the hospital several times they would not let me take him finally my appointment at the child study center in Fort Worth came up and we had been on the waiting list for 6 months and that is the only reason they released him is because he was going to have an assessment done. Do not take your children here unless you want them to come out worse off than when they went in
