First therapist I saw here spent the last 15 minutes of our session talking about herself, then I saw Jerri for over a year and she was mostly fine but never helped me actually learn from anything I d been through and had even said at least you were a kid so it didn t affect you much when I told her of my past traumas, then I stopped seeing her and got my medication through Roger Kirkwood, but once my pharmacy ran out of my medication I was unable to get ahold of him to ask what solutions I had available for this, I called the office several times over three months, one of the receptionists is very kind and the other, very rude, the rude one always answered my calls and took my name and number, promising a call back but I never heard from Roger Kirkwood, but he did text my mom?? I am 21 pretty sure that s a hippa violation, after bringing these concerns to him he said to just go somewhere else, I was without my meds for 3 months because he never called back and never contacted my pharmacy, the people at CVS were 100% more helpful and attentive to my needs than the people getting paid to do so

Roy was horrific and disrespectful. I didn t go back to stonestreet for years. Now that I am seeing Alicia Sader she has already helped me tremendously. She treated me with nothing but respect and actually listened to my diagnoses and concerns. She didn t just rush me out and is very observant during her visits as well. She is someone you can trust for personalized care and not just generalized care; the same old methods most psychologists do.

I highly recommend Alisha Sader if you want to have your diagnosis changed on your first visit! Want to be scoffed at and made to feel small? Visit Alisha. She has zero therapeutic communication skills and I am disappointed, no, disgusted, that I was both spoken to in the way I was and treated like a fool. She comes off as very judgemental and I would never recommend Alisha to anyone. Inall seriousness, it seems that Alisha just isn't capable of performing this job to the standards of her predecessor and if you got passed to her from Roy, like me, then I am truly sorry because she can in NO WAY hold the standards that Roy held.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
Sober living homes in Kansas offers a balance of freedom, structure, and accountability to provide a safe environment where individuals in recovery can practice maintaining a sober lifestyle. Recovery homes, also called halfway houses, typically include daily chores, set meal times, curfews, and required 12-step meeting attendance. This setting can be beneficial for those who need additional support after treatment before returning home.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
Detox treatment varies, but it always involves 24-hour clinical care in Kansas. This supervision is necessary to ensure a safe detox process. Time frame for this level of treatment depends on the severity and type of the addiction. Common time frames include 5-day detox and 7-day detox. Rapid detox programs are also available that are as short as 24 hours. Regardless of the time frame, constant supervision by experienced staff is an essential component.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Physical withdrawal can be uncomfortable, and in severe cases, it can even be dangerous. In an inpatient environment, a medically assisted detox is performed by a team of licensed medical professionals who monitor your vitals, provide medications when necessary, and ensure your safety, health, and comfort during this process. Medical detox is usually the very first step in the recovery process.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Couples therapy can help with problem solving, communication, forgiveness, and relationship satisfaction. This type of therapy is typically short term, and couples may meet with the therapist together as well as in separate sessions.

eye-movement iconEye Movement Desensitization And Reprocessing

In family therapy, experienced therapists help family members navigate the challenges of addiction by fostering open lines of communication and mutual support. This approach strengthens the family unit and improves the effectiveness of the recovery process.

Long term substance use causes chemical imbalances in the body that cause cravings, depression, and other conditions that perpetuate the cycle of addiction. Nutrition therapy addresses these imbalances by providing the foods your body needs for optimal function.

I've been to quite a few therapist in the last few years, and this was my worst experience yet. I went to see Terry Jerenze. Which I was not comfortable with to begin with, and I let the receptionist know that I would have preferred a female. I went anyway, and it was so bad.I was telling this "therapist" about some of my issues, and he laughed at me. And he told me that I didn't need to worry about my problems.I definitely do not recommended going to see him. It was so bad and made me feel worse about myself.

I started going to see her when I was an adolescent. As I got older, more issues began to surface, and I returned to her each time because her no nonsense, straightforward demeanor helped guide me towards workable solutions, and provided the tools I would need to recognize unhealthy relationships and situations, empowering me to be the best person I can be, to appreciate the blessings in my life, to value my children, my family, and myself. I am so thankful to Geri for helping me recognize my own value and my own voice.

Today I saw Roger Kirkwood at this establishment. It is the first appointment in several years where I felt seen beyond a formal checklist and clipboard at a psychiatric clinic. I would highly recommend this provider if you are seeking one.

I always believed that when a couple in need seeks out professional help and that help is begun, that the help would be continued past the first visit. One visit and then nothing. Not a word. Worst of all, no word as to why. After three non replied to phone calls to Tyrus Petty, one in person visit to Stonestreet front office, still wife and I have no idea why after our first visit and a promise to be sent requested homework from us, that our being lead to believe we found help has vanished in thin air. There is a reason. I just ask them to be the professionals in their name and explain why. I dont like writing poor reviews, but this is a poor way to treat people who come to you out of a need for help.

Stonestreet is a very welcoming establishment. Connie Sanchez is a great therapist. She has helped me through a lot and is wonderful at her job. However, I did not enjoy Eva Brown. For some Eva may be great, but for me she wasn t. She is very tough love and for someone who has the background I have, it did not help. I did not appreciate the lack of compassion from her, nor did I appreciate the judgement and snarky remarks and facial expressions from her. I believe she is proficient at her job, she just has a terrible bedside manner. And unfortunately I don t see her being able to tailor her method to the patients mental stability and wellbeing. I would not recommend seeing Eva, especially if you are someone who needs a gentler approach to your mental health issues that stem from past traumas. All in all, Stonestreet is a great place, and I do not hold my opinion of Eva and my experience with her against the practice.
