Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

I asked all the right questions before choosing this place for a evaluation and come to find out it was all a waist they take your money recommend you treatment else where not a drug test or anything they scam to get you to pay for the evaluation but ask you do treatment at asac or other locations no drug use had this done for a OWI .098 expected if I did treatment it was with still waters as I asked them before hand if they do that how it works etc. they sure know how to get there money and then pawn you off I wouldn t waist the time with them and just go to asac would probably be a much easier process then jumping from place to place

At Still Waters, our client s success is our top priority. The evaluation is the first step for us to gauge if a client can be successful in our program or if their needs would be better met by a different treatment program. This decision is made after the evaluation interview, review of the pre-evaluation questionnaire, and a review of the client s substance abuse history and legal history. At times, it is evident that a client would benefit from a more intensive treatment program that Still Waters is currently unable to administer. These clients are often referred to programs that are more traditional in nature. We understand the client is not happy with our decision but felt it was in their best interest in the long run to seek treatment elsewhere. In these cases we will assist in any way possible to transfer the client to a different program.

This place is a joke, Kelly try s to make you entrap yourself buy only using a true or false questionnaire and does not leave an option if it does not apply. They lie about it only taking 10-15 minutes to fill out and it s actually a four part questionnaire with the 1st out of the 4 has 74 questions. Once you take longer then an hour, your kicked off and have to start from the beginning. Let me add that after each section it will ask if you want to look over before submitting leading you to think it s documented, wrong! Not only does this guy think that just because he has PTSD his way is the ONLY WAY to handle it, (he s a drug counselor) I have a legal marijuana prescription card, for my PTSD and chronic pain prescribed by a professional psychiatrist!! When I messaged him about my frustration of having to start over and asked if he could send me the link to where I left off before getting booted off, he emailed me to forward to my attorney to give to the courts Findings: Results of the Substance Abuse Evaluation were based upon the SASSI (Substance Abuse Subtle Screening Inventory), legal history, DSM V (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual for Mental Disorders, 5th Edition) criteria, and ASAM PPC (American Society of Addiction Medicine Patient Placement Criteria).Recommendations: Ms. Spencer has been recommended for placement in Extended Outpatient Services . Client expressed frustration over the electronic questionnaire emailed to her. As a result, services at Still Waters, which are technology dependent, would not be a good fit for her. However, ASAC can provide the recommended services.Kelly MarsengillMA, CADCExecutive Director Still Waters Recovery and Wellness

As a licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Program in Iowa, Still Waters is required to use a standardized questionnaire as part of the evaluation process. The SASSI is the industry standard for this questionnaire. In our experience, clients that struggle with the technology contained in this questionnaire will also struggle with the online nature of the overall Still Waters program. To avoid the unneeded and potentially damaging frustration of not being able to navigate the program, we provide these clients with a referral to a more traditional treatment program. Still Waters mission is to help clients live a substance free life, something that cannot be achieved if there is a high frustration level with how the program is administered. The industry standard for Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselors is that a client must abstain from the use of all substances during their treatment. This will include medical marijuana, especially if the patient has a cannabis use disorder. During a program with Still Waters, the conditions that are being treated with the medical marijuana are addressed and guidance is given for alternative options. No one in the Still Waters organization claims to suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, however, we do regularly work with clients with PTSD and have many strategies to assist them in managing this condition.

They deleted my review!! Don't go here especially if you are court ordered! They asked about my religion for one. When I got the paperwork saying I need to do classes I called and they said because the one time I got an owi that i barely blew over legal limit and because I have mental health problems I'm prone to have substance abuse problems. When I have dozens of witnesses that can vouch I don't. When I called to ask why they were rude. My lawyer Saud I should have never went there they are known to do this for the money. I just wasted 15p.00 on them. If you are court ordered gobto unity point. I honestly don't understand how they have good ratings unless they write them themselves.

Response from the owner11 months ago
We re sorry you had a negative experience Michelle. We ask all clients if faith, spirituality, or religion is important to them so that we can accommodate their beliefs. Still Waters is a Christian based program but we respect all beliefs and faiths and see that as an integral part of making sustainable changes in people's lives. We do offer price matching of any other licensed substance abuse program in Iowa as well as providing an income based sliding scale in order to accommodate all abilities to pay. The criteria licensed substance abuse counselors use is in the latest edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Illnesses (DSM), which is the American Psychiatric Association's professional reference book. We also used the Substance Abuse Subtle Screening Inventory questionnaire, the National Institute of Health criteria and the American Society of Addiction Medicine Patient Placement Criteria to determine your need for treatment. I am happy to discuss with any client why a recommendation was made, however, I will not argue with them about it. Clients are encouraged to get a second opinion if they are unhappy with our recommendation. Our reviews are from clients who have invested themselves in making positive, sustainable changes in their lives and they deserve full credit for their efforts without anyone questioning their authenticity. I hope for the best for you. Respectfully, Kelly Marsengill

This program completely redefines how substance use disorders SHOULD be addressed and treated. The lesson plan is practical, realistic and Kelly ensures the treatment plan is tailored to individual needs rather than feeling like you're on an assembly line. Kelly is compassionate about helping people live their best lives without judgement and was a pleasure to work with.
