This place was amazing, Rita was my psychology nurse practitioner, and was extremely thorough, understanding, and helpful, she gave me a plan for care, and gave me back up plans if what we decided upon together for the original plan did not work out for me. I walked in slightly skeptical because of my one and only interaction with psychology before this, and left feeling so relieved, and feel excited to follow up with her, and am confident my mental health will only improve as long as I stick with our plan. Also excited to see the therapist there because psychology is only half the battle. Thank you Still Waters for making me feel welcome, safe, and secure from the moment I walked in the door.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Clinical Services

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Almost ten years have passed and I still feel that Dr. Nagpal s poor judgement and lack of foresight allowed herself to be manipulated by a family member of one of her patients. The damage she allowed to happen because of lack of insight was incredible and left many scars on many people. Nice lady but in the wrong profession in my opinion.

Reliable staff, good location. I saw Ron Hindbaugh for about two years. I've had depression and anxiety my entire life. I don't anymore, and have been in good mental health for almost three years using the strategies he taught me. The guy is a true miracle worker.

Stillwater has been a great blessing to me. I first went to Stillwater to help us navigate a family issue. After the family issue was resolved I stayed and Smita Nagpal helped me learn how to compassionately navigate many of the habitual beliefs and negative habits that were my comfort zone. Helping me to not repeat the past but mindfully being able to approach the future. Stillwater has informative public information sessions and I've taken many of the Meditation Workshops run by Smita over a course of 6 weeks and they have been not only fun but provided me a real understanding of why and how to meditate, along with the practice to actually incorporate meditation into my real day to day routine. The Nurtured Heart Parenting Approach run by Bridget Young was frankly beautiful. The care Bridget puts into the class is apparent. That same care is apparent from everyone I've met at Stillwater. Can't recommend enough.

No problem with the counseling, the billing department is very unprofessional! If you receive a Bill from them double check with your insurance company!!!! The billing department was so quick to blame the counsler, and stating maybe we didn't meet our deductible, after hours on the phone come to find out still water's counseling was billing the insurance under the wrong doctor!! PLEASE double check with your insurance company beforehand!! And still water's if you are reading this no we are not going to be sent to collections by you for your incompetents!! It's sad we had to end our counseling because the billing department couldn't do there job correctly, and the way they tried to handle it was so unprofessional!!

Sue - I am very sorry that you had this experience, and thank you for bringing it to our attention! We take these things very seriously, and have already started looking into what happened. If you don't mind, I would like to speak to you on the phone in order to get more specific information about what happened. Of course, mistakes do happen in any business, but they should be corrected quickly and professionally. I assure you we will not only look into your specific difficulty, but also look at our billing system to make sure something like this doesn't happen to others. Rest assured that if our mistake ended up costing you, we will reimburse you in full. I look forward to talk to you soon, and thanks again for bringing this to our attention. Best Regards, Brian Pearson, Ph.D. Co-Owner Still Waters Counseling 1/18/2018 10:37 a.m. Sue - I had our billing people look you up so I could get your phone number, but the name you used in this post doesn't match anyone we have ever had as a client, nor does it match the name of a parent of a client. I understand the wish not to use your real name, but it makes it difficult to contact you and work this out. I am inviting you to call my personal cell phone number or send me a text message with your number so that we can begin making this right. My cell number is 734-945-1371. I don't typically pick up numbers I don't recognize, so either text me or leave a voicemail explaining who you are - and I will call you right back. I look forward to hearing from you soon. - Brian

Being that I am one of those types of men who have always said things like "I don't need to talk to anyone about things" or had believed (and would often go out of his way to try and prove) that he was smarter than any health professional (especially mental health professionals), I hope my review of Still Waters' staff will carry a little extra weight.I don't think that I can say enough good things about Still Waters to truly express how I feel.We (myself and my daughter) have been involved with Still Waters (specifically, Dr Smita Nagpal and Dr Brian Pearson), for several years.Originally we sought counseling, mostly, for dealing with issues and struggles that come with divorce, remarriage and being a new "blended family" We had interviewed several counselors, I felt most were either charlatans or quacks. Slightly put out by our failures we tried "one last place". We actually found Still Waters in the phone book. Lucky us!I never dreamed that I/we would get so much out of any relationship personal or professional. So, without going into too much detail...I (YES ME!!!) felt immediately comfortable with Dr Pearson and quickly I began to trust him, (me saying I trust someone is rare and HUGE). Brian is well educated, I'll call him a well educated common man (that being more of a statement of his style). He comes with no pretense, arrogance or preconceived thoughts, I feel that my relationship with Brian continues to develop as I evolve. Better than just being educated though, he knows how to use what he knows...My daughter has seen Dr. Smita Nagpal for a while. I can't speak for my daughter, but I am sure she would tell you there is no doubt that Smita has made a big difference in her life. I can say she was always eager to see Smita, often asking to schedule appointments early just so she could talk to her. My daughter is now 11. Smita (also extraordinarily well educated and knows her stuff) quickly earned my trust (see relative comment above) and my respect. During the years my daughter has seen Smita I also have benefited greatly from the relationship with Dr Nagpal, both, as a man and as a parent. The problem with writing a review like this is that there is so much you don't get to say, I wish I could write more, but then if the review gets too long no one would read it would they...
