About St. Joseph’s Addiction Treatment & Recovery Centers

St Joseph’s Addiction Treatment and Recovery Centers has multiple locations throughout the state of New York. Their facility in Elizabethtown, New York is now closed but they were a substance use disorder and mental health treatment center for adolescents and adults. They were also a LGBTQ+ affirming program and CARF accredited.

This center offered inpatient care, outpatient care and supportive housing. They also offered a veterans program and a mobile treatment program. The mobile treatment program was much like an outpatient treatment program. It ensured that those who had transportation issues could still receive the treatment that they needed.

With the inpatient program, you could stay up to 90 days. You and your counselor would come up with an individualized program that meets your needs. They used evidence based methods to help with your recovery. They focused on your addiction and any co-occurring mental illness that may be causing your addiction. If needed, they could use medication assisted therapy to help you with your withdrawal symptoms and cravings.

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. Saint Josephs Addiction Treatment operates two Guest Houses; one in Poughkeepsie, the other location is in Schenectady. The Houses provide living arrangements for recovering men, 18 and over, who are looking to transition to independent living.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
