I worked here and they are the most unprofessional people who seem to have clicks and fired me one day before my probation period was up. They never tell you a word only gossip behind your back. They have only 2 or 3 employees who has worked pass 3 months. They fire everyone who comes.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) facilitate clients' sustained sobriety through high-level care aligned with their evolving needs. Clients engage in multiple treatment sessions per week, typically receiving between nine and 20 hours of outpatient care weekly. The frequency and intensity of treatment gradually decreases as clients stabilize. Many intensive outpatient rehabs offer a variety of services, including addiction counseling, recovery-focused life skills training, and medication assisted treatment (MAT). Evidence-based complementary therapies are also common.
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
A sober living home offers a supportive environment where individuals in recovery provide mutual support as they share household responsibilities. Residents participate in 12-step programs and offer accountability for sobriety. To remain in men's or women's sober living, individuals must remain drug and alcohol-free, contribute to chores, attend support group meetings, and help cover expenses to live in the home.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
A partial hospitalization program (PHP), also known as day treatment, allows you to receive rehab-level care while living at home. PHP treatment requires a minimum of 20 hours of treatment each week for an average of 90 days. PHP treatment plans can vary depending on your needs but typically includes relapse prevention, medication management, and evidence-based therapies, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). Most insurance providers fully or partially cover PHP treatment.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Addiction is a highly complex problem, and drug rehab in Massachusetts is often necessary to address it. These programs treat physical, mental, and relational issues that are involved. Treatment empowers individuals to manage these issues without the use of drugs.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
postpartum-program thumbnail image
Postpartum Program
The postpartum period is a sensitive time, especially for women in addiction recovery. Rehabs with specialized programs for new mothers will offer compassionate, personalized care to meet each client's needs as they transition from pregnancy to this season of life. Care teams may include obstetricians, pediatricians, and social workers working collaboratively to give women, children, and families a healthy future.

Clinical Services

During cognitive behavioral therapy in Massachusetts, clients work with a trained counselor to identify negative thinking patterns and change them. This change in thinking has been shown to lead to changes in behavior to treat substance use and mental health disorders effectively.

If you are experiencing intense, negative emotions, dialectical behavior therapy can help you learn how to regulate painful emotions and manage the interpersonal situations that generate them. This method is often used during substance use treatment in Massachusetts to help you develop better coping skills and avoid relapse.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Therapists in Massachusetts offer individual therapy in a confidential setting to help you explore the complex factors that have contributed to your drug addiction. Using a tailored approach, your therapist supports you and utilizes evidence based treatment modalities to help you develop healthier thought patterns and behaviors. This builds a foundation for enduring sobriety.

Trauma therapy addresses the psychological impact of experiencing a traumatic event. You can also experience mental and emotional injury after witnessing a trauma. By identifying what triggers those responses and developing effective coping mechanisms, you can rebuild a sense of safety and trust in your environment.

During family therapy, the therapist works with every member of the family unit to understand the role they play in their loved one's addiction. By addressing these patterns, family members learn healthier ways to interact with each other and contribute to a more effective recovery journey for the family member who is addicted.

I have been trying to SCHEDULE an appointment for almost 2 months now as a new client. I filled out the paperwork online and apparently after that only one person can make a new client appointment. Rachel is obviously overworked and doesn't have time to return a simple phone call for weeks at a time. This is absolutely ridiculous other people should be able to schedule a simple first time appointment and help her out. I've tried to talk to management and noone calls me back so now I'm forced to write this review to get some kind of help as this is the only place that is accepting new clients with my health insurance nearby.

Hi, Sabrina We have been in communication with you about it. You are trying to help your family member and schedule apointment for that person, but, unfortunately, your family member refusing to attend to it after our multiple attempts to contact. We will be happy to provide a treatment when that person voluntarily agrees.Best regards, Natalie Lender, MD Medical Director

I am horrified by the way I was treated by multiple employees. I had requested a transfer of care to another physician at the facility, a right under state law (M.G.L. c. 111, s. 70E). The attending psychiatrist surmised that I must offer a valid reason" for the request which is ridiculous considering that the doctor-patient relationship is built on trust (the request speaks for itself). I also requested a reasonable accommodation because of communication difficulties caused by my disability. Stonewalled for days then, after I complained to a government agency, got dismissed by the facility. My advocate called the facility on 7/24/23 and they refused to speak with her. Kind medical assistants are this place s only saving grace.

I am a psychiatrist (MD) in clinical practice for 26 years. My husband has been a patient of Dr. Cynthia Carter for about two years for treatment of ADHD. He likes her and she probably does care when she's available, which is inconsistent. He feels at her mercy to have access to his meds and would never complain, so I'm writing this. The times she's gotten his prescriptions wrong, he and the pharmacy attempt to reach her but it can take days to straighten out. I'm stunned by her lack of responsiveness to his calls and emails. I cannot imagine treating my patients this way.He has repeatedly gone without his meds. Sometimes it's on his end; he's afraid to follow through and be considered a "problem patient".The office staff are responsive and caring, but it seems they have the same issues trying to reach her.In August of 2021 he used the link from the office to log onto his telehealth appointment and waited 70 minutes before giving up, then was told she'd been there (where?)For balance, I read every review of Square Medical Group on Google before writing this. Many reviews mention doctors and nurse practitioners by name that patients really like and give good care. Ask for one of them. Dr. Carter received one positive review but also negative ones. Some do not name the doctor but describe the issues my husband faces .The vast majority of reviews rave about the office staff, which is a critical piece of delivering medical care. Many name staff who go above and beyond and are delightful to work with.I read this to my husband who says it's accurate. I hope it's balanced as well.
