About Springbrook Hospital

Springbrook Hospital is a behavioral health treatment center in Brooksville, Florida. They offer inpatient and outpatient care for adults who are dealing with mental health conditions and co-occurring disorders, including drug and alcohol addictions. There are special tracks for seniors and anyone who needs dual diagnosis care. They accept self pay and private insurance.

Their facility can hold up to 66 people at a time. Here, you’ll receive round the clock psychiatric care delivered by a multidisciplinary team of licensed professionals. If you’re struggling with substance use on top of a mental health issue, you’ll enroll in their Eclipse Dual Diagnosis Program. A special feature of this program is that it combines inpatient treatment with partial hospitalization services. You’ll start out in inpatient care and then transition to outpatient treatment once you’re ready to live on your own again.

During your time in the program, you’ll focus on working through your condition with a licensed therapist. You’ll discuss ways to improve your self esteem, embrace healthy habits, and improve your relationships. You can attend counseling sessions by yourself or you’re welcome to bring your spouse, kids or other family members along. They also offer group meetings and educational programs for additional support.

Individuals who have gone here have mixed feelings about the time they spent in the program. While some call it a blessing and say the staff members are supportive, others have felt inadequately cared for and question the protocols that the team members use.

Would give this place a zero if possible, needs to be shut down. This place is disgusting and unsanitary, zero communication for family, just call and leave messages for nothing, keep you in here longer than supposed to for the insurance money. This is a sick way to treat people, supposed to be helping those who need it but this place does more harm than good. They really need to read the oathes they took as medical professionals again because they don't practice it. Disgusting.

Was in here 5 years ago. Came out worse than when I went in. Staff is nasty. Treat you more like an inmate than a patient. Very unsanitary as well. Flies swarm food. This dump should be shut down asap!!!

I went in voluntarily and was taken care of. The nurses are very helpful and I was even given a shave. The food is fantastic and I met a lot of interesting people. A tech suggested that I write a book called "the no name book" regarding my visits to mental hospitals. So you get smoke breaks and you can also visit the recreational room. I was able to decompress and reset my mental clock. The facility is very clean and I saw a pest control guy spraying the area so there is no need to worry about that. All in all it's just another brick in the wall.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs are a collection of highly individualized services designed to promote long-term recovery. These services evolve as your needs change. Case managers and recovery teams typically begin formulating the rehab aftercare service plan early in the recovery process to facilitate your reintegration back into the home, workplace, and community.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
Often referred to as "day treatment," a partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers an intensive treatment option that allows individuals to return home at night. PHP treatment typically requires a minimum of 20 hours a week for an average of 90 days. Participants attend daily therapeutic sessions, receive medication management, and have access to skilled medical professionals. While costs can vary, most insurance will fully or partially cover a partial hospitalization program.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

The nurses and techs have NO empathy and are extremely rude and unhelpful. The food is terrible and is lukewarm! They should close this place down permanently!

How is this place still open? My son had a breakdown last November and was in IR for 12 hours waiting for a bed. A bed was found at Spring brook. He was admitted around 10 pm on a Wednesday for a 72 hour hold. Tried all day Thursday and Friday to give the hospital some background info phone calls were met with rudeness..finally told hippa law prevented us from helping.. son tells me he signed hippa hospital says no.. weekend comes, nobody answers phone..Monday comes and turns out they located signed hippa form asked to talk to case manager and find out he was absent from work from Thursday on so he never even saw my son.. so I went down to find out what was up and was treated poorly by staff etc he was discharged on Tuesday and was worse off then when he went in.. long story short he was Baker acted again in Early Dec. and stayed about 3 weeks once again came out worse off in conclusion My son ended his life in early March stay away from this place! Looks like almost 4 years later and still open? Stay away!

That hospital needs to be shut down. They took me all the way to Orlando just to be stranded, Minus a few techs that place is the worst.I wouldn't let me dog go there. But a special shout out to the techs on OAU. As well as the nurses. That was the only thing good about that place

0 Zero stars I couldn t post a review without a starTitle: Unacceptable Experience with SpringBrook Behavioral Health ServicesI am deeply concerned about the treatment my father has received at SpringBrook behavioral health facility. He has been held for three days under the claim that he poses a danger to himself and others, which I believe is inaccurate. Throughout this time, communication has been poor especially with his case manager Adam and I feel that our family has not been given proper updates on his condition or clear explanations about why he continues to be held. There seems to be a lack of transparency in their decision-making process, and their actions have caused unnecessary distress for both my father and our family. While I understand that mental health situations require careful consideration, the way this facility has handled my father s case feels more like detention than care.I urge the facility to review their policies on patient communication and care, as this experience has left us feeling helpless and unheard.I would not recommend SpringBrook behavioral facility to anyone seeking compassionate and professional mental health services.

Family member was admitted under Baker Act however the staff never returned a single phone call and discharged the patient a week later without confirming they had a place to go afterward. There is zero communication with the family. No therapy groups were offered. In the week my family member was there they attended one AA meeting hosted by someone who was not hospital staff and came from an outside vendor. Doctor speaks with the patient for less than 5 minutes and moves on. This is not a hospital. My family member needed long term comprehensive care but did not receive it. If I could give 0 stars I would.

RUDEST receptionist ever. We cant get any information on a family member THAT I HAD ADMITTED? Its a HIPPA violation to update family members on the situation? I was calling to make sure she was there and safe because I was not updated when she left. Its a HIPPA violation to update family members on a suicidal family member?Unproffessional, lazy and rude staff. All the negative reviews are earned.
