I had a procedure done on my knee Oct. 28th. They said they would call the next day but it has been over a week and I haven't heard anything. I called to see if I could get the results but I got someone will call. Knee still hurts and haven't heard anything

The Spencer Hospital is the worst place to go if you have any issues with your health back story, during the flood of Spencer I was having trouble with my stomach and heart, I couldn t eat/drink anything all I would do is puke and lay in bed crying and my mama finally took me to the emergency room I was there for 8hours and it was already 7 at night I wasn t feeling right at all like there really was something wrong I got two scans done along with my blood and urn testings they pulled my mama out and asked if I was doing it for attention giving I have 16 mental health disorders and my mom knows I ain t like attention (I have social anxiety and anxiety) my mom looked at them like they we re stupid they thought I was acting this all out and my mom wasn t happy with that and I was in so much pain and they just kept giving me small amounts of Tylenol and morphine and they weren t helping me at all and then they come in the room(each time my mom would ask them to get me a stronger dose or a different medication) they would refuse to do all and just keep giving me the other smaller doses they come back and told me everything looks fine and that I just needed to sleep it off my mama went off on them because I haven t ate for 2 weeks before visiting and they still didn t do anything I went to another hospital and found out that it was a blood and bladder infection if I were you I d go to a better hospital because your going to get sent home with something that could eventually kill you

Accepted Insurance

Spencer Hospital works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

Adult program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Dialectical behavior therapy helps you learn healthier ways to cope with your emotions and life stressors. The goal is to find a balance between acceptance of who you are and the advantages of making changes. You will work with your therapist to strike this balance and develop skills for better emotional regulation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

When it comes to helping someone in a sensitive critical time in their lives you would think the staff would have empathy, be caring and understanding!! There were some nice nurses but good luck with the doctors up there. Horrible communication skills, lack of trauma informe ... Read More

Their behavioral unit is one of the worst I've been to. The nurses and doctors were terrible, and they never listened to any of my needs. Also, they don't follow HIPPA. Save your time and money and go somewhere else.

I recently had an ESWL procedure for a kidney stone at Spencer Hospital on August 14th, and I cannot speak highly enough of the experience. From the moment I started setting up my procedure, Kelly B. was incredibly pleasant and helpful. She made the scheduling process smooth and followed up on my additional questions with care and professionalism. On the day of my surgery, I was fortunate to have a wonderful team looking after me. Crystal, Sydney, Megan, the CNA, and the CRNA, Anne, were all exceptional. Crystal, in particular, took the time to pause and address my cautionary questions before I got settled for the procedure, which I greatly appreciated. The radiology staff also stood out, especially the woman who completed my KUB X-ray. She was welcoming, pleasant, and professional, making the imaging process comfortable and stress-free.Dr. Christ, who performed the surgery, was excellent. The entire team was professional, kind, and focused on providing the best care possible.I truly feel that I received top-notch service and would not hesitate to return to Spencer Hospital if needed in the future. Thank you to everyone involved for making what could have been a stressful experience as smooth and comfortable as possible.

My mom went to the hospital a couple of hours after getting a hip injection due to severe pain. She was there for several hours and she asked for a strong pain medication, as she was in tears. She was told no and was given toradol. (Which Nurse Laura denied) My mom stated that the toradol didn t take the edge off and she was still in extreme pain and was told she couldn t be given anything more until she had a CT scan. This is absolutely unacceptable and inappropriate. Pain is a vital sign and her verbal reports were ignored. She s had injections in her hip before and she knows what to expect, so if this is not normal, that should be taken seriously. She isn t an addict and isn t a drug seeker- there is no reason to deny someone in this situation medication.

Absolutely the worst hospital i have ever been to I hardly ever get sick or anything else for that matter so I do not pay for insurance and don't have it because ide rather just pay for the visit and prescription when and if I do have to go which I only do if I think something is wrong. They refused to treat me like a person and ran 1 test then gave me anti allergy medicine for an infection I might not be a doctor but I know for a fact that is not right and not only that but I coughed up blood and had chest pain and they acted like they didn't care because I did not have insurance I am seriously debating on suing this horrible place for medical Mal practice you are a hospital you are suppose to treat people whether or not they have insurance and not tell them you don't bc they don't have insurance . They said take this medicine you'll get better 1st of all allergy medicine doesn't help infections 2nd I don't feel better it's been 5 days since and I feel worst absolutely absurd to think this place is even allowed to stay in business if this is how they treat people

Psychiatric/behavioral health unit saved my life and changed me for the better. Staff cared and never judged. Other than one nurse and a few little things, everyone was so kind.

The Doctor's and Nurses have always been amazing and I've had great care. This review is regarding the billing department. I have always taken care of my bills and been on time. Recently I stopped receiving bills on my account. Apparantly even after paying my account I had missed, in a letter, I needed to call and reset an already set payment agreement. Due to this oversight, though still having paid when a bill was sent I was turned over to a collection agency.I've worked customer service most of my life. I would think a small local hospital could have the courtesy to send another letter or even call or better yet continue sending bills instead of that?!!!

Between my OB doctor and all of the staff at the hospital OR and the OB even the ER staff have been amazing. This week was a very long stressful week but they made everything go smoothly and made sure I was OK and comfortable my OB doctor even came during the day yesterday to be with me in the operating room because she knew I was worried and scared I can't say I know many doctors that would do that also I was awake during my surgery because I didn't want a bunch of meds in my milk supply because my milk just came in yesterday. So we did a spinal block the anesthesiologist was amazing as well and made sure that I wasn't going to get any meds that would compromise my milk supply the nurse has found me a pumped pump before I went into surgery and had me call my family to come bring my baby so I could nurse her before I went in they were all so amazing I can't say enough good stuff about them it was definitely an experience that I will never forget. Thank you all who took care of us and were there for us this week I appreciate each and every single one of you
