I came through SOCDT back in May of 2019 and just celebrated 3 years clean and sober. I m so grateful to Salina, and the staff there for helping me in my journey and what an integral part they played in showing me that recovery is possible. My life is completely different today and will always be grateful for the continued support that they have shown me. I hope that if someone is struggling with alcoholism or drug addiction that they reach out to Salina and her staff, and get the help that they need.

I came to SOCD a little over a year ago for help and was immediately taken in with open arms, non-judgement and kindness.I wasn t expecting much, especially during the pandemic, where most other treatment centers were struggling to keep their doors open. The level of 24/7 care I received from Salina and her staff was above and beyond what I have seen in other treatment centers. I feel so blessed that I found SOCD because they really care about your recovery. The empathy and grace I received, and continue to receive, from Salina, Alex and Greg was something I desperately needed. When you stay there it is apparent that they are all doing what they love and what they feel called to do. The therapy I received undoubtably changed the trajectory of my life. I now have over a year of sobriety thanks to Salina and her staff.I recommend SOCD to anyone suffering from addiction and would like to learn how to live a more authentic, purpose-driven life. If you re in a place where you are ready to ask for help they will not drop your hand, they will not give up on you and will not let you down. This place is driven by a lot more than financial gain (which is RARE). Overall, if you are considering treatment I highly recommend SOCD. It is more than just a treatment center, they facilitated an environment where I found it safe to find myself and, if you re ready, they will help you find yourself too.

SOCD and staff are so great I couldn t stop at just one visit I had to go back a second time lol. South Orange County Detox has extremely hard working and caring staff, a nice home like environment, and a very knowledgeable and experienced owner/program director! A stay at SOCD becomes exactly what you, personally, need it to be. This is not a cookie cutter treatment center that just drops you off at meetings and only preaches the big book. At SOCD you receive the attention and the quality of care you need in order to actually heal from alcoholism and addiction. You will not be just another number here. If you are truly ready to live a life, not only physically, free of drugs and alcohol, but emotionally, as well then South Orange County Detox is the place for you.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Creativity is inherently healing, and can help those in recovery express thoughts or feelings they might not otherwise be able to. Creative arts therapy can include music, poetry/writing, painting, sculpting, dance, theater, sandplay, and more. Unlike traditional art, the final product matters far less than the experience of creation and expression itself.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

I just wanted to tell Southern California and the world how great South Orange County Detox and Treatment is. Selina and her staff work miracles. I brought my son in when I felt there was no hope. This was my last attempt and I was desperate to find the right help for my son. My son wasn t even planning on staying but a few days and he stayed for two years working through his emotional triggers and other issues. He now has a future and a hope and looking forward to a life of sobriety. Thank you Selina and South Orange County Detox and Treatment staff for your dedication and hard work and for having the faith for all who walk through your doors.

South Orange County Detox and Treatment is by far the best treatment center in Southern California. Very comfortable , and family oriented, Salina and her team are passionate about changing lives and helping addicts sustain long term sobriety , most treatment centers only care about the insurance money , not here , the time and energy that is given to clients and their families is hands down the best you will find in this line of work. I highly recommend South Orange County Detox and Treatment to anyone looking to change their life and rediscover the passions and skills they have lost . Do yourself a favor and call these people!!!!

I personally would recommend this detox to anyone who is interested in personal care and invested staff members. Unfortunately I have been through many detox centers where it felt like I was just another addict, where as my experience staying at SOCD differed greatly. The rooms are very private and comfortable. The staff is very understanding of the individuals detox experience and does not force you to do anything that you are not up to doing, but also encourages you to get up and interact and take the opportunity to speak with other addicts who have experienced similar experiences and gain some insight into how to attain long term sobriety. The director Salina, is a very warm and kind hearted person and is very knowledgeable in her field of work, and will not hesitate to spend extra time on a client who is in need of extra attention. I would absolutely recommend this detox to other suffering addicts, or family members of addicts who are looking for a strong foundation in recovery, because in my own experience SOCD played a huge role in my continued sobriety today.
