outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

inpatient iconInpatient Rehab

Inpatient rehab provides intensive treatment for clients exiting detox, those in early recovery, and those at an elevated risk of relapse. Unlike outpatient drug rehab, clients receiving inpatient care reside at the facility for the duration of the program. The length of stay may range from two weeks to 18 months or more, depending on the client's needs and the program's design. Inpatient treatment typically involves extensive addiction education and recovery-focused life skills training.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

aftercare iconAftercare

Rehab aftercare programs offer clients in addiction recovery a robust continuum of care after clients have completed active treatment. These services address recovery as a life-long process and are designed to evolve with clients' changing needs. Clients may partner with their case managers and/or addiction recovery team to identify the rehab aftercare services that are right for them. They may receive career counseling, housing assistance, peer coaching, 12 step program induction, among many other services.

12-step icon12-Step

12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

sober-living iconSober Living Homes

Sober Living Houses (SLHs), aka sober homes or halfway houses, are safe, substance-free, supportive living facilities for those recovering from substance abuse. Ideal for those who've just been through inpatient or outpatient treatment, SLHs are supervised environments with rules that support sobriety, such as curfews, shared chores, and therapeutic meetings. Residents are also often trained on life skills and coping skills to make it easier to transition into society. SLHs also provide a strong sense of community that can lead to the kind of deep and lasting connections with other sober individuals that supports a new, healthy lifestyle.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

When addicted, quitting your drug of choice suddenly can be dangerous. That's why experts agree a medically assisted detox is the safest way to remove addictive substances from the body. Usually done in an inpatient setting, your vitals signs and overall well being are consistently monitored and rechecked in order to keep you safe and ensure the detox is successful.

Heart icon Treatment

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

check iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

mental-health iconMental Health and Substance Abuse

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Hand holding medical sign icon Clinical Services

inpatient-file iconCognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

dialectical iconDialectical Behavior Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

equine-therapy iconEquine Therapy

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

family iconFamily Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

eye-movement iconEye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

EMDR is a therapeutic modality originally developed to help process trauma. In an EMDR session, a patient is prompted to undergo eye movements that mimic those of REM sleep. This is accomplished by watching a therapist's finger move back and forth across, or following a bar of light. The goal is repetitive sets of eye movements that help the brain reprocess memory, which can significantly reduce the intensity of remembered traumatic incidents. Associated memories can heal simultaneously, leaving patients significantly calmer, more stable, and more emotionally relaxed.

life-skills iconLife Skills

While in rehab treatment, you may work on developing various life skills to help you in long term recovery. These may include resilience, interpersonal skills, and self awareness. The focus will be on developing healthy habits for self care and relationships so you have the skills you need to manage day to day life.

recreational-therapy iconRecreational Therapy

Recreational therapy is included in alcohol and drug addiction treatment to focus on engaging you in healthy activities that reduce your cravings and improve your overall health and well being. When you participate in group sports, art, or nature walks, you develop new interests and find a meaningful way to spend your time and reduce your cravings.

art-brush iconCreative Arts Therapy

Creativity is inherently healing, and can help those in recovery express thoughts or feelings they might not otherwise be able to. Creative arts therapy can include music, poetry/writing, painting, sculpting, dance, theater, sandplay, and more. Unlike traditional art, the final product matters far less than the experience of creation and expression itself.

I was here for treatment for 8 months and I had an addiction to fentanyl and bipolar disorders . Another rehab didn t want to keep me because of my kidney failure due to drug use and Angelika welcomed me with open arms !! Beautiful spirited woman !! She goes above and beyond for her clients and treat you like family !! This rehab is the only reason I got sober ! They let you go at your own pace and won t be quick to kick you out !! Nice food , nice outtings !! She takes very good care of us !! Don t think twice about coming it doesn t feel like a facility or hospital and you get to keep your phone !! Nice bedrooms , big beds , your own bathroom and my favorite No ROOM Mates ! And btw Chris the Manager is awesome!!! The only people that had problems with him were the ones that weren t serious about the sobriety!! He was one of my favorites !

My family will forever be grateful to Angelica and her staff. I will never get in one review all that I am grateful for. These people became family. They will go above and beyond! They are patient! They are available! Their technique works! There is no timeline on sobriety. I ve dealt with them for 4 years off and on with my son. Who also has attachment disorder. He almost didn t want to come home I watched him walk into that place a boy and come out more a man. They are parents, professionals, best friends and punching bags. They are the structure, empathy and medical. They are there for you when you don t even want to be there! Highly recommended if you want people that truly care! Speaking from a history with my child.

I don't have words to describe what this place and what the people in it mean to me. Entering this facility has literally been not only one of the most eye opening and wonderful places i have ever been but also has helped me realize and experience what it takes to not only become a responsible and motivated adult but also become a loving kind and RESPONSIBLE son to a mother who only knew heartache and had nowhere else to turn. (My mom would laugh if she read this...) These people are 1000000% REAL, would give the shirt off their backs for you and will ALWAYS be family to me. I have dual diagnosis bp type 1 etc, and I have worked through ups, the downs and everything in between but the difference is this time i had the best support system i could have ever asked for!!!!!!! To the staff that works day and night to make sure I'm safe and treated with respect and showed me love even when i couldn't love myself... thank you. From the deepest part of my heart . For those with no idea where to go next, or worried about a loved one, if you want to change your life for the better... I was in the same spot. The thing is... A new beginning is only A call away. (As my mom said) "Change starts from within." BECAUSE RECOVERY STARTS WITH YOU!!!!! ~ Chris "big baby" Valdez.

I was in the worst place if my life until I found this place. The people and the staff were the best ever. They really saved my life. I didn't know where to turn I didn't have insurance and any knowledge of how to go about getting clean. The director Angelica couldn't have been more helpful and supportive her and her staff really pulled it together for me found all the info that I needed and guided me accordingly. They helped get me insurance well they patiently awaited for me to get my insurance. If you believe that there isn't any help out there you are wrong this is the place you want to go to for all of your needs they care more about the patient then the patient's insurance like most places. You will never have a regret it's not just a facility it's A FAMILY YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE!! THANK YOU SO-CAL FOR SAVING MY LIFE ANGELICA, KATHY, JEN, MARCO, LISA as well as all the other counselors that may no longer be there IT'S WAS A TOUGH ROAD WELL WORTH PAVINGI LOVE YOU ALL THANK YOU!!

This facility saved my child's life.My child was in 3 other facilities for dual diagnosis. We quickly learned most don't understand the mental health aspect at all. The last facility dumped my child on the street with no money and no phone. Considering I was in a different state I was in panic mode. I was in constant contact with angelika who assured me they would get my child and bring him to their facility safely. And they did! That was 3 years ago. Since that day the staff has become like family. My child was not stable at the time of admittance and can be it can be quite challenging finding the right combination of meds. They never gave up even and the hardest times when I thought they would discharge my child. The entire staff has worked tirelessly to give my child every advantage to become successful. They have been consistently supportive and always think outside the box for life skills and treatment plans. They aren't in this business for money. They truly believe in their cause of helping people get their lives back .

This business called for placement of a gentlemen but unfortunately we had no beds available. We let them know we had no vacancy and they STILL put this man in a Lyft driver and sent him to us. Patient abandonment and patient dumping is a serious offense in this industry and completely unethical. Very unprofessional and dangerous. This man was released with nowhere to go, from out of state, no phone, and with a bag of narcotic detox medications. The appropriate authorities will be made aware of this situation.

Response from the owner4 years ago
It s so unfortunate when one treatment center is trashing another with false accusations and not having even facts straight. This is shame and unprofessional conduct. The intake coordinator from MFI took insurance information to verify benefits for the client , never said to client Or to discharging facility they had no bed available. It s not industry practice to take insurance information and tell client that they need to verify benefits first for admission when no beds are available. Shortly after, twisting Story on social media. This is not ok and I hope admission staff at MFI will get properLy trained to avoid repeating the same situations. Also, to clarify we did discuss situation with state regulatory agency and based on the facts of the situation our facility operated in appropriate and legal manner. In addition, every other review from our clients show we offer great service to clients.
