About Solace Counseling

Solace Counseling is a drug and mental health treatment center located in Dallas, Texas. They offer outpatient drug rehab services such as medication assisted treatment (MAT) and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). They treat those with alcohol, drug and opioid addictions as well as those with dual diagnosis conditions by offering individual therapy.

Their outpatient program offers individual therapy to help patients cope with their addictions, as well as MAT and TMS. MAT can help patients who struggle with withdrawal symptoms when attempting to quit their alcohol, drug or opioid addictions. This process includes being prescribed either Buprenorphine (Suboxone and Zubsolv) for opiate use or naltrexone for alcohol use. TMS can help patients who struggle with depression or co-occurring conditions.

Solace Counseling takes most major insurance providers such as Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield, Humana, United Healthcare and others. Contact your provider to verify coverage because out of network benefits can vary.

Since 2001 I have had the pleasure of being a client of Dr Patel. SOLACE has always had the most professional nonjudgmental staff. From the front desk staff to the medical billing specialists who work with you in accommodating a treatment plan best suited for the coverage your insurance or lack thereof provides. The staff is willing to help if you help yourself.

I went to Dr Patel for years. He was great. Then, I wanted off of the medication, and he basically cut my rx one day, leaving me extremely sick. Inevitably, I relapsed, and when I tried to come back for MAT (with private insurance) he refused. I had never failed a drug test under his care. Luckily, I made it back to MAT, but I cannot help but to wonder how many people do not make it back simply bc he does not want to deal with them.It is my advice to look up state medical board complaints and actions taken towards Dr Patel, and I would look up what big pharma companies pay him, and how much, before taking any rx from him. There absolutely is an overlap in the latter.I really liked Dr Patel, unfortunately, if you actually need his help or time, he absolutely does not care. You are a number and a reimbursement to him, and he has long forgotten the oath he took as a doctor. To go into addiction medicine without compassion for the addict, and only an interest in money, is a special kind of moral bankruptcy.

I saw Dr. Patel at Solace Counseling for over 5 years and initially found him kind enough. The appointments were always brief, usually around 5 minutes. When I switched jobs and wanted to continue seeing him, the response from the office was shockingly cold and heartless. It made me feel like I was just a dollar sign to them, not a real person. I ve decided to go back to private pay, but it definitely won t be with Dr. Patel or Solace Counseling. The lack of compassion was disappointing after so many years.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

During rehab in Texas, you'll deal with underlying issues that contribute to addiction. By addressing these challenges and learning healthy ways to cope with them, you'll develop strategies that help you live a drug-free lifestyle.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Individual therapy offers you a confidential space to address the complexities of your drug or alcohol addiction. Your therapist guides these personalized sessions to help develop self awareness and manage stress. This promotes sustained sobriety and overall well being.

Dr. Collom has been an actual life saver. I started seeing him in 2019 and from the very first appointment I felt so comfortable being completely open. I expressed my concerns with medication due to my past with recreational use and he worked with me to develop a plan to get me in the right headspace for what felt like the first time in my life. He was available anytime I had a "crisis" during COVID and has continued to provide me with the best mental health care. I cannot say enough great things because I think he might be an actual ANGEL! Thank you Solace Counseling and Dr. Collom for absolutely everything. You'll never lose me as a patient.

Britton is one of the best doctors/providers that I've ever come across. always concerned for her patients well being and needs. No matter the day, she's always there to meet with patients. I would not have anyone else to discuss issues with, this coming from a combat veteran that has to constantly deal with the VA

This place is a absolute rip off. I had a visit with Dr.Patel in which I paid my co-pay and all required fees after they verified my insurance. Three weeks later I get a call in which they state I owe additional fees and that sometimes this happens with insurance. That s a absolute lie and I will be reporting them for trying to take advantage of patients. Every doctor s I have been to has always verified insurance and collected required fees before even seeing you.
