About Social Model Recovery Systems – Omni Center

Social Model Recovery Systems - Omni Center is in El Monte, California. It’s a treatment center for men who need help with their alcohol or drug addictions. Here, you’ll get to connect with other guys who are facing the same struggles you are, and you’ll get to recover together.

They’re a residential treatment center, which means you’ll be monitored 24/7. Your day consists of therapy like meditation and reflection, recreational social activities, and individual sessions. In the evening, you’ll go to onsite or outside 12 Step meetings. Your length of stay varies. It all depends on your needs and goals. In the last phase of the program, your family can come visit.

After the program ends, you can be referred to an outpatient program at another center in the Social Model Recovery network. This might be an extension of existing Omni programs or one where you’ll work on any mental disorders that added to your addictions. This way, you’ll be more successful in going back to your family and community.

outpatient iconOutpatient

Clients receiving treatment at an outpatient rehab typically do not require hospitalization or intensive supervision and support. Outpatient addiction counseling and recovery education are often offered during the morning, evening, night, and weekend, allowing clients to tailor treatment to their own schedule. Partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs are the most time-intensive and are designed for clients who are at an increased relapse risk and/or who need more robust therapeutic support.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements. Omni Center's residential recovery program in El Monte provides a structured living environment in an atmosphere of recovery. Each day begins with morning meditation and reflection. Residents attend daily groups, participate in recreational and social activities, and receive individual counseling. In the evening, residents may attend on-site or outside Twelve Step meetings (nightly Twelve Step fellowship meetings are held at the Amstone Hall, just a step away from the Center). The meetings operate independently of the program and everyone is welcome.

aftercare iconAftercare

Rehab aftercare programs offer clients in addiction recovery a robust continuum of care after clients have completed active treatment. These services address recovery as a life-long process and are designed to evolve with clients' changing needs. Clients may partner with their case managers and/or addiction recovery team to identify the rehab aftercare services that are right for them. They may receive career counseling, housing assistance, peer coaching, 12 step program induction, among many other services.

12-step icon12-Step

12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

sober-living iconSober Living Homes

Sober living homes in California offers an intermediate sober environment that has less structure than inpatient rehab but more than typical home environments. This makes it a good option for those who have concerns about transitioning back to the "real world" after treatment. Residents can typically live at the halfway house as long as they want, if they are willing to follow house rules. These may include a curfew, chores, and maintaining a job.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

When addicted, quitting your drug of choice suddenly can be dangerous. That's why experts agree a medically assisted detox is the safest way to remove addictive substances from the body. Usually done in an inpatient setting, your vitals signs and overall well being are consistently monitored and rechecked in order to keep you safe and ensure the detox is successful.

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

mental-health iconMental Health and Substance Abuse

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.
