October - 2024I thought I would write an update to the review below because so much has happened in the world (COVID) and I am at this point of making a tremendous transition in my life. I would not be making this positive transition had I not visited the Siddhayatan Tirth and met Acharya Shree Yogeesh over 8 years ago.As I wrote below, I went to the ashram for an experience and to connect with myself. I am writing to tell you that it's happening, like REALLY HAPPENING. Over the past 8 years, I have actively implemented the "Spiritual Tools," (that's what I call them - meditation, sound, yoga, lifestyle) and they have transformed how I see life and my future. You can not find these teachings anywhere else because they are primarily practiced in India. Acharya Shree is the monk who brought them to the United States in the 1970's. FYI - it is extremely rare for a Jain monk to travel outside of India because many monks live exclusively in ashrams. Siddhayatan is a Spiritual Oasis for people of all religions; there are lakes, walking paths, incredible hand carved statues, organic food and nature, everything you need to connect to you.I encourage everyone to go, even if you do not take one single class, just experiencing what it is like to live at a working ashram without having to travel to India is so worth it. Oh - and if Acharya Shree happens to be available for a 1:1, DO IT. It is a once in a lifetime type of thing to meet with a Jain Master.Heather Badal---------------------------------------------------------------Written before Covid (can't recall)I have traveled to Siddhayatan about 8 times over the course of the past 2 years. When I first visited, my intention was for it to be a one-time experience and I never thought I would ever return let alone 8 times. However, being at this very special place helped me awaken a voice inside of me and as crazy as this may sound, I reconnected with myself something I had not really done in decades. With each visit, I have taken classes and given myself space to reflect. I have water fasted a couple of times (it is tough but not as hard as it seems and let me tell you....I love food!). In fact, if you have ever thought about fasting, this is the perfect place as you have the support and space to let your body process the toxins and emotional memories stored over the years. I have taken all the classes and my favorites are the chakra, awakening the soul and the purnam yoga.If you have time to meet with Acharya Shree do it. Acharya Shree is the visionary/founder and his teachings are rooted in the principles of Jainism and shamanic traditions. He lives a most simple life that is centered around non-violence. I find it inspirational and uplifting to be in his presence and he has helped me sort through some difficult times.I know this is a long review, but if you are still reading then I encourage you to go. I guarantee that you will learn something new about yourself and be inspired by your surroundings.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements. Siddhayatan Spiritual Retreat Center's program "Break Free of Addiction Retreat" includes intensive breathing, yoga, counseling, and deep states of meditation that help clients to overcome their addictions and purify their mind and body. The program is a 3-day workshop were clients receive three classes.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

During rehab in Texas, you'll deal with underlying issues that contribute to addiction. By addressing these challenges and learning healthy ways to cope with them, you'll develop strategies that help you live a drug-free lifestyle.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life. Siddhayatan Spiritual Retreat Center's program offers time to share each client's personal experience with the spiritual guide and work towards acceptance and healing.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health. Siddhayatan Spiritual Retreat Center offers vegetarian and vegan cuisine.

Recreational therapy (aka therapeutic recreation) uses creative and fun activities to help with addiction recovery. Recreational therapists lead patients in entertaining and engaging activities like sports or games; art (drawing, painting, sculpture); drama, music, and dance; and/or community outings (field trips) to improve patients' physical, social, and emotional well-being. At Siddhayatan Spiritual Retreat Center clients participate in mantra chanting to detoxify the body, mind, and soul.

I just finished the meditation and awakening the soul workshops. I also completed a 3 day fast. I feel fully rejuvenated. I enjoyed the techniques taught in the workshop, really appreciated the serene environment and friendly people. Acharya Shree Yogeesh, Sadhvi Anubhuti, Sadhvi Siddhali Shree , and the volunteers made me feel very welcome and comfortable in this new environment. I do suggest the consultation for fasting if you are new to fasting. The book provided has just about everything you need, but having an opportunity to have a face to face lesson and conversation about fasting, and able to ask questions was very helpful.

It is a beautiful place to get away and enjoy the simple things in life. If you like and appreciate nature and want to work on personal growth, I highly recommend you try this place. This pilgrimage has various courses that you can take from Water Fasting, Meditation, Transforming Anger, Health & Wellness and more. Please note that the retreat focuses on non-violence and vegetarianism practices. No meat is allowed.

This was my first retreat and I had no expectations. I did know, if the accommodations didn t hold up to my standard of cleanliness, I would head on out and attend as a day student. Well, I was very happy to see that my single room with private bath was exceedingly clean and simple.Four nights and five days later, I returned home quieter and more intent on continuing my spiritual journey. Siddhayatan Retreat Center provided guidance, tranquility, and support and was willing and able to customize my retreat.Jai Siddhatma!
