AA members don't have to attend any set number of meetings in a given period. It is purely a matter of individual preference and need. Most members arrange to attend at least one meeting a week. They feel that is enough to satisfy their personal need for contact with the program through a local group. Others attend a meeting nearly every night, in areas where such opportunities are available. Still others may go for relatively long periods without meetings.
12-step icon12-Step
The "Twelve Steps" are the core of the AA program of personal recovery from alcoholism. They are not abstract theories; they are based on the trial-and-error experience of early members of AA. They describe the attitudes and activities that these early members believe were important in helping them to achieve sobriety. Acceptance of the "Twelve Steps" is not mandatory in any sense. Experience suggests, however, that members who make an earnest effort to follow these Steps and to apply them in daily living seem to get far more out of AA than do those members who seem to regard the Steps casually.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

When you enter drug rehab in Nevada, you receive professional assistance to remove drugs from your body and cease your body's need for the substance. You learn coping strategies and receive support to prevent relapse and enjoy long-term sobriety.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.

Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.

Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

I LOVE the meetings at Serenity and I wanted to give them a perfect 5star rating. I couldn't give 5stars because there is a con-artist speaker that is given way too much attention there. His name is Sam and he lives a double life - alcohol/weed user by night and fake healthy recovering addict by day. I asked 3 people sitting around me to describe the speaker, Sam, with just 1 word and this is what the 3 strangers said to me "narcissist, "show-off" and the last person answered with "FAKE". Wow, I told them that they were really sharp because I had just seen Sam drinking that prior weekend & there he was non-stop talking about how much his sobriety means to him. It's so sad to see a failed "gang-member" now failing at just being a sober person. He's really insecure and hence he talks n shows off so much at the meetings he attends. You can tell that Sam feels the need to dominate a situation and be the "center of attention" and its so sad that he chose recovering addicts as his group of people to "try" and fool & dominate. Just proves that SNAKES are everywhere!

I am blessed to be able to volunteer at Serenity Club. Still now, from the first day I walked through the doors, it saves my sanity. There are meetings everywhere but what makes this place special is the family caring atmosphere. It feels like home. Here, no one is right and no one is wrong. I get to meet people who are like me from all over the world, who bring different views of recovery based on where they're from. Between so many fellowships to choose from, the self driven entertainment and freedom to be yourself, this is the place to go if ever in doubt. Thank you Serenity Club for over 10 years of continuous butt saving!
