book iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

prescription iconDrug Addiction

Drug rehab in Michigan provides personalized treatment to help individuals break this cycle and regain control of their lives. Treatment methods are used in various levels of care, including inpatient rehab, partial hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient programs, and standard outpatient treatment.

head-side-medical iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

file-medical iconMental Health and Substance Abuse

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

prescription-bottle-pill iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

car-building iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

clipboard-medical iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

house-medical iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

bed-front iconInpatient

Residential treatment at Self-Help Addiction Rehab - Maybury Grand is aimed at eliminating substance abuse behaviors and gaining the abilities to live a clean and sober life. Insight into the addiction and relapse process and developing a personalized plan to identify triggers, attitudes and engage in a lifestyle change is essential. With durations up to 120 days, SHAR's residential programs are also designed for individuals with co-occurring disorders (COD) who need stabilization as well as individuals with co-existing legal problems / criminal thinking issues. Eliminating substance abuse and increasing an individual's pro-social behaviors happens in the structured, therapeutic environments of both SHAR Main and SHAR Macomb where our residential programs are housed.

house iconSober Living Homes

Sober Living Houses (SLHs), aka sober homes or halfway houses, are safe, substance-free, supportive living facilities for those recovering from substance abuse. Ideal for those who've just been through inpatient or outpatient treatment, SLHs are supervised environments with rules that support sobriety, such as curfews, shared chores, and therapeutic meetings. Residents are also often trained on life skills and coping skills to make it easier to transition into society. SLHs also provide a strong sense of community that can lead to the kind of deep and lasting connections with other sober individuals that supports a new, healthy lifestyle.

Group Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Individual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Good share house....

Seriously don't even feel right even giving them a star at all!!! Filthy, dirty, rude nurses and staff, (except for Chris,) he was nice. But I can't even begin to explain everything wrong w this place. I'd b here all night. Only buy the Grace of God I haven't gotten so far gone (yet), that I would b cool staying at a place like this. I was there 24 hours and left today. and am praying I get in somewhere else that would b a better fit for me ASAP.

I dropped my little brother off at the Shar house yesterday 2/21/23 at 3pm. He is home now at 10:55am 2/22/23. They claim his pressure was too high and sent home on medical leave. He needs help and they turn him down due to his pressure. Maybe it was God saving his life from Shar facility rather than himself.

Smh. All I can say. Would never step foot back in that building. Thieves, liars, snakes and that's just most of the staff. Need new blood, new building and new leadership. You don't have to believe me,, Just do a tour of the building. Nuff said!

Rude...everyone there is just miserable...the monitors are on a power trip...they are intimidating...and enjoy their power...The person at the desk acts like you are just a problem...no compassion...My son went to QBH and wow! What a difference...when I called about my son I was treated with kindness and respect...Shar house was a nightmare...it kills me knowing my son had to put up with discrimination....
