inpatient iconInpatient Rehab

Clients in inpatient rehab benefit from a highly structured and supportive environment away from the stressors that can trigger or exacerbate addiction. Inpatient treatment is designed primarily for clients in early recovery or at an increased risk of relapse. They provide intensive clinical supervision and addiction counseling, which may include group and family therapy. Clients may also engage in extensive addiction education to support long-term sobriety. Many programs offer complementary therapies, including art and animal therapy.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) support clients' long-term sobriety and their successful reintegration into the community through high-level services that evolve with clients' changing needs. The intensity and frequency of treatment decrease as clients stabilize, but most IOP programs involve between nine and 20 hours of treatment weekly. Intensive outpatient rehabs specialize in an array of services, including psychotherapy, medication assisted treatment (MAT), addiction and recovery education, and holistic care, such as massage and biofeedback.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers intensive rehab without the need for 24-hour care. Whether it's an alternative to inpatient hospitalization or a step-down option post-hospital or residential care, PHP treatment often includes relapse prevention strategies, medication management, and other behavioral therapy interventions. PHP treatment typically requires daily sessions for 4-8 hours, 5 days a week. Depending on your progress, the length of PHP treatment can vary, averaging 90 days. The cost of PHP treatment varies but is often fully or partially covered by providers.

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

The best course of treatment to achieve recovery starts with 24-hour clinical care in Rhode Island. Here, you can undergo medically managed detox, where medical staff can monitor your health and progress. You'll receive constant supervision and medication treatment to ensure withdrawal symptoms do not become severe or pose health risks. Once stabilized, you'll move from the clinical setting to less intensive treatment for ongoing recovery.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

In medically assisted detox, a team of medical professionals will be on hand 24/7 as your body is detoxing from addictive substances. As a result, you may experience physical and psychological side effects, such as mood swings, anxiety, nausea, or flu-like symptoms to help alleviate potential withdrawal symptoms, and keep you as safe and comfortable throughout this process.

inpatient-file iconCognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

dialectical iconDialectical Behavior Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

couples-therapy iconCouples Therapy

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

family iconFamily Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

When my daughter was around age 10 maybe earlier, was admitted at St Mary's Residential and I received a call letting me know that another child witnessed my daughter getting picked up and brought to bed and a male worker touched her while putting her in bed. Nothing got done and no one contacted DCYF and due to them doing absolutely nothing made me go there and take my daughter home. Later that evening DCYF came to my home and had me bring her to the ER. Years later stuff is hitting the surface. My daughter never was takingseriously. Not fair at all.Sincerely Tonimarie a PO protective Mom who loves her daughter.seriouslyneeds to be done. That guy was not sent home he was put in a different fko

The home took me in when I was born 80 years ago.they cared for me for five years. Then I returned to my mother.I can say they took me when no one in my family wanted me during WW II .A special staff woman took special interest and became my mother in kind Retrospectively it was her and the home that taught me manners, self respect and a determination to pull myself together.Staff makes mistakes yes. but the home must go forward.. I will continue my monitory support and prayers .David Carpenter

This place is Terrible and I hope they make national news along with RI DCYF who dump children there and forget about them! Danielle L is the absolute worst! She needs to be fired and looked at by police and DCYF. She triggers children who are one the spectrum and she lies on court documents! They wait to tell you when your child has been hurt when a concerned parent wants to know asap! My son was pushed down a flight of stairs and had a chair thrown at his face! He was covered inn bumps and rashes. The staff is not allowed to talk about anything that goes on there because their jobs will be threatened! This place is Terrible!!! DCYF should be ashamed for leaving innocent children here! MY son included!!
