Amazing hospital with amazing staff. I had my colonoscopy procedure here and every single staff member from the nurses to the anesthesiologist/doctor were kind, funny and very reassuring. Multiple staff involved in my procedure came to my room beforehand to discuss everything with me and make sure I felt comfortable. Dr.Timothy M. McGorisk is absolutely wonderful and made me feel confident and safe. Highly recommend coming here for any procedure if you can! Big thank you to all of the amazing medical staff!

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Michigan provides personalized treatment to help individuals break this cycle and regain control of their lives. Treatment methods are used in various levels of care, including inpatient rehab, partial hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient programs, and standard outpatient treatment.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Our patients time is important to us. Our practice allows enough time with each patient so that we stay on schedule. However, due to emergency situations, it is possible for us to run behind schedule occasionally. We appreciate feedback and are committed to providing the best patient experience possible.

Dr. Patel is one of the most unprofessional physicians I ve had the misfortune of dealing with. He is very rude & thinks he can speak to anyone as he pleases. Furthermore he only offers half ass solutions based on technicalities. Will be reporting to state

My Girlfriend went in cause she had a migraine, and it seems like they just wanted to discharge her cause the hospital was full! Told the 2 different PA s that saw her, that she wanted to do a CT scan or MRI because she hasn t been able to sleep! One PA said she thinks it s a sinus headache but my girlfriend said that doesn t make sense cause the pain was not in the front of her head and when she pointed that out the PA said oh, you never know and even tho my girlfriend said that she would still like to get an MRI they still wanted to discharge her She was not even able to get a room, her migraines went on to giving her a panic attack as they gave her an iv in the hallway in front of everybody! The hallway was full and the PA just talking her business in front of everybody violating her HIPPA rights, in that dirty hallway! It s crazy to know that these caretakers at the hospital can put patients in the hallway and discuss personal information in front of other patients, and it wasn t just her, the PA took a pregnancy test on someone else and my girlfriend and everybody else knew her results cause he said it out loud enthusiastically, everyone could hear each other symptoms in that hallway where they had her! This is unacceptable for a hospital! Then after that they discharged her in less than 2 minutes! Never Again!

You re getting 4 stars. That s it. You have amazing Doctors and Nurses on down the line to every assistant who works in your healthcare system. A few bad apples per usual in a hospital setting. One thing for sure is, your E.R, needs to be brought up to date !! You are short staffed or choose not to pay enough for help. You need to expand your E.R. Period. For patients to have to wait hours on end to be seen, is utterly ridiculous and unnecessary. Line I said, I have met some exceptional Physicians there, but for the love of God, fix your Emergency Room. It s to small, and you definitely need to put more staff on hand to take care of patients. There are people waiting 7, 8, and 10 hours or more to get seen and or be treated. The Head honchos, or Corporate who runs this hospital, had better start realizing how poor of an Emergency Room Department they are running. You have the money to run this hospital, so start utilizing it. Instead of making people sit and sit and sit to be treated. And light a fire under your health care workers to get moving, and stop being lazy. And quit overwhelming your Employees, by not having adequate help on the floors. There is no reason for this, other than poor management. And I accidentally hit the 5th star.

Coming up on my 8th hour in the ER with my father. He's been told he's being admitted, but no room number or further information has been provided. And it's been an hour since we asked for his evening medication. The staff has barely looked in his direction, let alone checked on him or made sure he has what he needs. I am forced to wonder if they are thus slowful with everyone or only those with an abundance of melanin. Spoiler alert: multiple non-melanated folks have been treated and processed while we wait behind a curtain like the great Oz. I'm going to suggest that the family physician find another place to be on staff because this is beyond ridiculous!

Horrible horrible horrible. All the staff are busy doing nothing. Someone can literally be dying or leg broke and they won t do anything besides keep telling people that they are going to find a room when they are not. They are helpless and this hospital needs to be closed for good.

I went to the ER last night around 9-10 pm and me n my mother was last in the lobby and I was still in pain and I told you nurses it was at a 11 pain level and nobody came out there to at least check or help me while I wait in the lobby. Then finally at 1:30am somebody came and my pain level was higher at this time. And the nurse was pushing me fast in the wheel. He did not introduce himself at all and then put me in room and still did not acknowledge anything. Now me and my mother still waiting while I m in pain and all the workers was just standing around talking. Therefore me and my mother just decided to leave without receiving any help from anybody and just went to a different hospital. Only one person asked if I was okay which was the receptionist and she tried to get a nurse to come out there and they did not listen to the woman I will be reporting this Hospital because this not goos professional treatment I received.

Came here for blood work yesterday. The staff was very nice and courteous. From the receptionist who checked me in to the nurse who did my blood draw everything was professional. I really like that I was able to set up an appointment online and they had multiple time slots.I do think there should be better information on where the lab is located in the building. I had to use the help desk phone for information on how to get to the lab.
