Heart icon Treatment at Sacramento Native American – Health Center

book iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

prescription iconDrug Addiction

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

head-side-medical iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

prescription-bottle-pill iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

file-medical iconSubstance Abuse

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

car-building iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

house-medical iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

Family Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Trauma Therapy

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

This office is horrible and nobody knows what they are doing there. Front desk has been very hasty. You have to wait months for a referral, sometimes the refferals department doesnt even have the info and if they do they just sit on it! Multiple problems with this office over a year!

Lock of professionalism, and medical knowledge.

Small Update: They have since taken down manually entering any extension so now you can t even file a complaint with extension 2212 with Eric. If you want to file a complaint just go with DCHS or your insurance provider directly. They will actually take it seriously unlike Eric where it will fall on deaf ears. When I filed a complaint with Eric he was very rude and when I expressed what was happening. His reply was We are aware of what is happening as if that were the magic words to resolve everything. Please stay away from this no-good clinic.Closed on a Wednesday afternoon, after hours call centers don t have any information on the clinics nor can they relay a message so whats the point of their after hour call centers . Literally pointless.Sick or need to see a doctor soon? LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE unless someone cancels and you re lucky enough to get that spot. To get an appointment you must be ready to wait about a month or maybe even 2 months to see a doctor. Both front desks have about 10 operator seats but always only have 1 or 2 people in the front that seem like you re a bother to them checking in.Appointments are speedy and done in about 10 or 15 minutes. They rush you to keep up with their overscheduled schedules. Doctors or in my case Nurse Practitioner didn t seem to care about my concerns at all. She was nice though I ll give her that.I had a doctor that really seemed to care about me at one point but he quickly stopped practicing there and went elsewhere. I can see why.Overall this is a disgraceful clinic and they shouldn t be allowed to practice until they get their stuff together. I promise if you sign up for this clinic you ll be treated as just another number in the system . I wish I could give them 0 stars because that s what they deserve. Please do yourself a major favor and avoid this headache and stressor of a clinic. It s not worth what they claim they can do, I promise you that from experience. All these 5 star reviews praising the clinic is either bots or workers from this clinic. Because I promise you ll not have the experience these 5 stars lying reviews talk about.

Idk how this place has such high ratings (I think the employees must mess with the ratings). Theres a lady at reception who is so rude and impatient with anyone who approaches. My body has actually been shutting down on me for months. I tried scheduling appointments with them months ago but they told me my insurance was not active. This was not true, however (my insurance worked at different urgent care centers, clinics, and hospitals), and I was on an endless goose chase trying to figure this out. Someone from my health insurance even said ah yes, weve heard a lot of chaotic stories about SNAHC over the phone to me.

First off staff is super friendly and helpful. My favorite check in clerk is Rosie. She is efficient, helpful, and always has a positive attitude to assist me with all my appointments. BUT my doctor is SUPERBURB. Dr Samuelson is attentive, on time, and caring. This clinic is clean and organized and always supportive in addressing my medical needs. I love being a part of this clinic.

I can see why now that any decent doctor I had, keeps quitting. Garbage. Y all suck now. Back in 2016 this was a decent place until y all kept accepting hundreds of new patients you couldn t handle, now YALL keep losing good doctors. This place went down hill.
