If I could give a 0 star review, I absolutely would. They rescheduled my appointment without consulting me first because apparently someone needed my appointment more than me. They told me the wrong date when rescheduling so I go there and they said the appointment was two days ago. I had waited over 3 months total for an appointment with a psychiatrist for them to tell me that I was cancelled as a patient a week and a half before my appointment. I was cancelled as a patient because I decided to get therapy sessions through a company that goes entirely through my insurance. They cancelled me as a patient solely because I wasn t getting therapy through THEM. Sounds like they only care about the money in their pocket rather than the wellbeing of their patients and community. I am so devastated. I was waiting for months on this appointment to get the help that I need and deserve and they do this crap to me. Absolutely ridiculous. Never go here.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Inpatient rehabs provide a safe, supportive environment for clients to focus on their recovery secure from outside distractions, stressors, and triggers. Clients receive housing, meals, and intensive clinical supervision. They also engage in extensive addiction counseling, often including group and family therapy. Many programs prioritize recovery-focused life skills training to support clients' reintegration into their home, workplace, school, and community. Evidence-based holistic therapies, such as yoga, acupuncture, meditation, hypnotherapy, or animal therapy, may also be provided.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive outpatient programs provide an intermediate level of care, often supporting clients' transition from inpatient rehab to outpatient treatment. Most IOP programs require a minimum of nine therapeutic hours weekly, but clients may receive up to 20 hours of care, with the intensity and frequency of care declining as clients grow stronger in their sobriety. Intensive outpatient treatment generally combines addiction counseling, recovery education, holistic therapies, and, for some, medication assisted treatment (MAT).
12-step icon12-Step
12 step programs are designed to enable participants to understand and address the root causes of their addiction, accept responsibility for their life choices, and relinquish control over that which they cannot change. Participants are expected to regularly attend 12 step meetings and to be mentored in their recovery journey by a self-selected sponsor. Meetings are free, anonymous, and open to the public. A variety of formats are available, including programs for seniors, teens, family members, and nondenominational Christians.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
A drug intervention in Missouri is a planned meeting between a person struggling with addiction and their close friends and family members. The goal of the intervention is to motivate the individual to seek treatment. To be successful, an intervention requires careful planning which may involve intervention services from an intervention specialist. Theyl can be certified by the Association of Intervention Specialists, or they may have other expertise that qualifies them for this role.

Treatments

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

A complete course of dialectical behavior therapy typically takes six months. Skills training happens in a group setting. You'll also attend weekly individual treatment sessions to receive coaching from a therapist. You'll work on understanding and accepting your feelings and learn how to manage them to make positive changes.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Motivational interviewing is a short term method often used during drug rehab in Missouri. It typically lasts one or two sessions, with the goal of facilitating conversation about change. The client should leave the sessions feeling more decisive and secure in their ability to make the changes they desire in their life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Life skills give you the ability to maintain healthy relationships, complete day to day tasks, and cope with challenges. Because substance use disorder often diminishes these skills, rehab in Missouri includes integrated life skills training to rebuild and reinforce these abilities.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

I was made to go here when I was a kid. I was forced to strip so I could be checked for weapons and drugs. I was put on concerta, a medication that did not help me or my condition. The facility was locked down and I was told I couldn't leave, even when I begged them. In year ... Read More

What Royal Oaks did for me was showing me the path step by step to recovery. That was exactly what I needed, they taught me the basic stuff and also the most complex one and now here I am completely recovered.

If I could give zero stars I would, I called the doctor out on being late... she discharged my son that day. I made a complaint and she agreed to see him if my husband took him. First appointment without me there she upped his medication significantly.. he have serious chest pain and the er told me to get his dose lowered back to what it was, the nurse refuses to speak with me. These people are rude. Disrespectful, and clearly don't care about the health of any child!

Saw a Dr at this office in July. They gave me a six month prescription and told me to call and make an appt when I was out. Called and somehow I was discharged from their system back in May. They advised that I walk in for a new client appt then to follow and actual dr visit. That process normally takes two weeks. I informed them I only had a week of this script left, and they said try a primary care Dr or the ER. Luckily I have a primary, but for those who don t, the ER is your solution? How about we don t lose or discharge people from the system who followed the instructions given by the prescribing DR. The other important thing to note, you will never get a call back from the nurse at the Higginsville location. In the past I was told to talk to her about medication question or refill questions. I ve left her probably 5 voicemails in the 3 years I ve gone here, and never once did I receive a call back.

I ve been trying to get a hold of a doctor to get a refill for my son but they only do that through appointments but our next appointment until January so which is several months away and he s been out of prescription and I can t get a hold of anybody so I can get him a refill. They keep putting me to voicemail voicemail to voicemail and I ve been calling every single day for three weeks and not one response so I can get my sons refill. This is completely unprofessional and I highly recommend a new other place. when it comes to your children s refills.
