I ve dealt with more than a couple rehab over the years , for friends and family members. One thing to remember is that it is a business, they need to make money to exist. They all tell you everything you want to hear, but only a few truly deliver the services necessary for the wellness of your loved ones. Rockdale is not one of them. My son was sober for over a year when he went there. He was serving time for things he did while high. The courts gave him the option of a rehab for a year. On his first day , he lied to them in an attempt to get prescribed Xanax and Adderall. He said he was getting these in jail and wanted to continue. I received a phone call about whether or not he was taking these drugs. They were extremely upset and threatening about how they were going to leave him at the hospital and not going to deal with this, even after he admitted to lying and I confirmed this was not true. For people that deal with the courts as they claimed they should have known he wouldn t get those drugs in jail. A drug addict lied to try to get drugs, not too surprising. I understand that they can t deal with a detox , but they were so angry and insisted on making the threat of kicking him out to me, even after confirming the lie, very unprofessional. My son was given an ankle monitor which they seemed to have no problem with initially. When we dropped him off, others in the house said they re not going to like that. And they re attitude towards the extra work of reporting seemed to reflect that statement. They take these guys to three aa meetings a day, which seems redundant. A good rehab should have more in house treatment, and deal with mental and physical well being. They were bragging that he was going to gain weight. A healthy lifestyle is is important for healing the mind. There were weights in the back which my son tried to use and was chastised for making noise, outside. The rules of the house were not enforced consistently which lead to confusion about what was ok and what was not. My son was staying up watching television past the curfew hour, which others had done. I m sure he took advantage, probably more than the others. They enforced the curfew on the television and the Wi-Fi strictly and told everyone it was his fault, even though he was told privately they were planning on doing it anyway. No one would speak to him , he was openly threatened. How is this good for anybody? No amount of apology was accepted. He was written up for things others did as well . When he was kicked out he was reading a book inside , early in the morning. They re not supposed to be in the house between certain times. It was freezing outside, literally, and the day before everyone was allowed to be inside. Without notification an angry house manager who had already had it out for him, came up and told him to pack his things. He was crying and they told him if he was going to be belligerent they would call the police. This was on exactly the last day before we would have to pay them again. There is much more but this post is long enough. This is not a good rehab, they re unprofessional, prejudiced, and not concerned with truly helping these men. Do diligent research when choosing a rehab , ask a lot of questions, and avoid this place.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient rehab enables clients to receive addiction treatment while continuing to work and reside at home. Many programs offer evening, night, and weekend services so that clients may receive treatment on their own schedule. Outpatient treatment modalities typically include addiction counseling, recovery-focused life skills training, and/or medication assisted treatment (MAT). Many programs also provide step-down care, including partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and standard outpatient services, to align with clients' evolving needs.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Clients enrolled in an intensive outpatient program (IOP) travel to treatment centers for specialized care multiple times per week. Intensive outpatient treatment allows clients to receive robust care while continuing to live at home. Most programs require between nine and 20 treatment hours per week, with the frequency and intensive of sessions decreasing as clients stabilize. Services generally include a combination of addiction counseling, medication assisted treatment (MAT), recovery-focused life skills training, and holistic therapies.
aftercare iconAftercare
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
A drug intervention in Georgia is designed to encourage an individual to get the treatment they need. This effort aims to break through resistance and motivate the individual to get help. The process typically involves loved ones sharing their concerns with the individual and how their substance use has affected those who care about them. A professional interventionist can help guide this conversation and explain from the clinical side how treatment can be beneficial.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
24-hour clinical care in Georgia reduces the risks involved in detox and addiction treatment. Without access to professional medical care, individuals may experience withdrawal symptoms that become life threatening. For example, alcohol withdrawal can cause delirium tremens, confusion, and cardiac symptoms. Without medical supervision to step in, these symptoms could potentially turn fatal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

A quality drug rehab in Georgia can help you overcome addiction. This environment is designed to help you address the complex issues contributing to drug dependence. The goal of treatment is to give you the tools you need to make a full recovery.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

While cognitive behavioral therapy in Georgia is unique for each person, this therapy follows a standard structure that has proven effective. Clients first learn about their substance use disorder, then learn and practice techniques such as coping, stress management, and resilience to change their thought and behavior patterns.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

During rehab in Georgia, you may engage in motivational interviewing. This typically lasts one to two sessions and is designed to address any ambivalence you have toward change. It helps you explore your current situation and motivations and commit to making changes for the future.

In trauma therapy, you address the emotional and psychological effects of traumatic events in your life. Your therapist provides you with the tools you need to process those memories and reduce the symptoms. This helps improve your overall mental health and functioning.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation. Families also are offered education on addiction as well as recovery.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Nicotine replacement therapy helps with cravings and withdrawals as you quit smoking. Combining this strategy with other supports can be a great way to kick the smoking habit for good.

The people here help through the recovery although some of the staff can be offensive and rude from time to time. The food sucks!!! Gets the job done so don't really care that much about anything else.

I am a practicing criminal defense attorney and many of my client's have real substance abuse issues. The Rockdale House for Men is a quality low frills program that has the respect of the courts. I would send my friends or family here.
