Over the past few visits, I've faced verbal abuse from William Liebbe, I've spoken with patient advocacy and have already done two transfer requests. The real question is, how do they not flag a provider for verbal abuse in a mental health facility? Yesterday, after telling Beth at patient advocacy that it was her second time my transfer request was denied she sarcastically stated "well you can always put in a transfer request!" As if it's not the route we had taken a second time as she assured something would be done this time because she'd speak to Joe about it. On top of that, they mailed my denial letter under the wrong name 2 different times.. It seems like pure ignorance and laziness. Thank goodness for Katie, she seems to be the only one who cares. Katie is a wonderful therapist!

Reading thru everyone else s experiences, I see the problem isn t me. Everything others are saying is the same experience I ve had. Receptionists very rude. Was told I was late when I arrived at the time I was given. After I stood in line to check in for 10 minutes. This was after the therapist cancelled on me 5 times. Everytime I rescheduled I told them I was not doing well, but they did not address it. Just scheduled me out another month and a half. Dr repeatedly is writing the wrong prescription dosage. So now when I went to pick up Rx, pharmacist says it s too soon. No one ever answers the nurses line . If you get a call back it s a miracle. Dr saying I cancelled appts when I didn t. I could go on and on, but I think you get the picture.

My psychiatrist cancelled my psychiatry appointment three times, all within 24 hours of the appointment. Each one had to be scheduled out for several months later. If I had cancelled within 24 hours, that would be considered a no-show, but somehow it was okay if my psychiatrist did it three times. When they finally managed to have an appointment without cancelling, I showed up ONE minute late due to traffic and was told by the front desk that my appointment was now cancelled. It would ve only taken a five-minute conversation with my psychiatrist to replace my medication. Instead, I had to schedule for several months out again. I had driven half an hour to get my medication, only to drive right back home empty-handed because they re too good for people who run into traffic.Since they cancelled my appointments three times, I went NINE months without the medication I needed. Nine months is too long.I m switching to a new provider as soon as possible. I need to change my medication and they are making it impossible. Don t choose Robert Young Mental Health Center if you want a reliable provider that won t cancel on you within 24 hours of your appointment, or a front desk that won t turn you away for being one minute late.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
As a flexible option, a partial hospitalization program (PHP) is tailored for those who don't require 24-hour care. PHP treatment can include daily therapeutic sessions and services such as relapse prevention and medication management. Based on your needs, PHP treatment duration can average 90 days and require a minimum of 20 hours of commitment weekly. While a partial hospitalization program typically requires a commute, telehealth may be available. PHP treatment costs can vary but are often covered by most insurance.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
hearing-impaired-program thumbnail image
Hearing Impaired Program
A sensory disability, such as hearing impairment, can compound the challenges of addiction recovery. Drug rehabs that are specially designed to accommodate the needs of persons with hearing impairments will include special accessibility features and accommodations to make treatment as comfortable and effective as possible. This may include access to American Sign Language interpreters.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

eye-movement iconEye Movement Desensitization And Reprocessing

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

It s pretty bad, that this place is notorious for being rude and even condescending.. as a mental health facility that is the LAST place those struggling should call for HELP, and be met with the attitude and disrespect and disregard.. I truly hope there s a change soon. Cause this reputation has been a thing for YEARS. Do better.

Dr. Ritterhoff was informed of my mother's addiction in 2014 to the Xanax he was giving her. He still continued to give it to her. She passed in early 2015 from an OD. I was 18. How do you live with yourself knowing that, Dr? How many people have to die before you finally listen? My mother could have gotten better. She could have been given literally ANYTHING else. You could have heard our pleas and chose to follow through. Her decisions killed her just as much as you did.

They canceled the appointments on me and then when I had an emergency I had to cancel once. When I called the following week for our appointment they said that it was canceled. So this place cancels appointments then says that it's their policy that you can't be seen there even though they're the ones canceling. The medical field is just a joke nowadays. The reception area is horrific, the ladies are rude and do not know how to communicate with people. I can't imagine someone going through something tragic and then having to deal with these individuals. I will say Amy, the therapist is very easy to talk to and seemed like she really cared about her work. That is the only positive thing I can say about this establishment. It should be closed down.

This place is absolutely horrible. I had called back in may to get my daughter switched to a new provider. The one I had wasn t in her best interest, they not only assured me they were taking care of it, but I found out today they never did any transfer paperwork, the staff was rude to me on the phone, and have been rude to both me and her father in past appointments. I reestablished care but am going to be looking elsewhere.

Waited 3 months for an appointment. The day of my appointment I showed up on time and was told by the front desk I had cancelled my appointment the previous day when I had very clearly called to confirm the time/date and not cancel. Front desk simply told me all they could do was reschedule me for another appointment a month and a half later. I would recommend trying other offices before coming here.

Go anywhere else.Edit: I decided to update this to keep it relevant. I recently reestablished care at Robert Young out of necessity, and I'd like to take a moment to break down how this place doesn't work.Mental health issues arise at all times of the day. Robert Young has responded to this fact by simply not accepting messages for their entirely off-campus nursing help line. The nurses on the other end of the phone are rude, unhelpful, and will call you back at any time during the day to leave you a voicemail to demonstrate that. The psychs aren't here for you. The nursing team is a joke. The therapists and counselors are on a rotating door. If you have the option, go literally anywhere else.
