About Riverside Tradition House

Riverside Tradition House provides a safe, stable living environment for adult men battling addiction in Jacksonville, Florida. You can access counseling and peer support to embark on your recovery journey. They require all residents to be sober and open to help upon admission.

Their sober living home offers the support to help you rebuild your life. They welcome 30 men at a time so you’ll have a community of peers to learn from and connect with.

You can access onsite counseling along with two weekly Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. They also encourage you to attend daily 12-Step meetings outside of their program.

One thing I like about them is they emphasize healing the mind, body, and soul. They help you get to the root causes of addiction and address them with counseling. Peer support groups also help you strengthen your connection with a higher power to benefit you in recovery.

Another great feature is they offer free meals. You’ll have access to three daily meals and bagged lunches for work. Many sober living homes require you to fend for yourself, including paying rent and buying your own essentials. I think it’s great that they support you as you get back on your feet while highlighting the significance of good nutrition.

I have to say in defense of tradition house that Luke's recent post was in retaliation for him being told to pack his stuff and go, everything he said in his review was a lie and a complete fabrication. You're really saddens me how someone could sink so low as to try to tarnish the good reputation of tradition house. I believe it is the best and always has had the reputation of being the best sober House in Jacksonville. It is well-run, clean, comfortable and a safe and stable environment to rebuild your life. Humility and gratitude are key ingredients to a New Life. Hopefully Luke will get it one day! You know as they say, hurt people hurt people".

An actual church-owned boarding house that pretends to be a sober house. They do not even own a breathalyzer with which to test residents, and the U.A's. are done so infrequently that the odds of someone high being tested are slim to none. One resident "bragged" that he had lived there for a year and 1/2 and was never tested, even though he admitted to being active in his addiction. Management is disengaged from what is going on in the house and focuses on infrastructure projects at the expense of actually running a program to help addicts obtain the skills needed to obtain long term sobriety. Other staff spends their time micromanaging the residents' ice consumption and the number of food items they have in the refrigerator. If you wish to remain active in your addiction and post up in a boarding house in a nice area ,then this is the spot for you. If you are serious about your recovery, then look elsewhere.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Florida provides quality treatment to help individuals overcome dependency related to a wide range of addictive substances. Programs address both the physical and mental aspects of addiction in order to help you make a full recovery.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Amazing place. I've seen other reviews of the house being dirty and bed bug ridden. That is certainly not the case. It is very clean and in 5 months I lived there I never saw 1 bed bug. Mark & Ricky who run the place truly care about the residents getting better and making their lives manageable again. The food is amazing and plenty of it. That house is truly a blessing to those who are in need of help getting over their addictions and their life back on track.

I don't really know of this place or how clean it is or what substance is being used behind there closed doors. I just want to let my father who's in this household to know this. I know your trying. And I know you want to see me and all. But Andrew it's been 15 years. 15 years without a father I want you off of your addiction I do and I do love you. Just be your best. Your son, Ian.

Mr Leigh was a good guy and helped everyone he can. The house itself is disgusting, was infested with bed bugs when I was there. Not only that but there was obvious drug use in the house, people would be nodding off in the living room in front of the staff and nothing was done. Found needles in the showers a few times. The food was good there, and there were good people. I remember one night when a guy went out on a coke and liquor bender then came back the next morning and puked in our bathroom and passed out. Surprisingly they kicked him out. Wouldn't recommend this place, it's filthy and not a good environment.
