About Restoration Ranch

Restoration Ranch, located in Ramona, California, provides an alternative approach to behavioral health care for Veterans seeking a holistic path to healing. This outpatient program emphasizes equine therapy as a method for transformation.

The outpatient program allows Veterans and their families to come to the ranch and to work closely with the horses in a way that fosters mental well-being and transformation. Individuals may also choose to continue to receive support through traditional mental health avenues such as psychiatric care or therapy. It is important to note that Restoration Ranch is not a drug rehab, so if addiction is a concern, it’s advised to seek treatment at a drug rehab center before attending the workshops and offerings at Restoration Ranch.

Restoration Ranch invites individuals interested in their program to contact them to learn more about fees, free services, and insurance. If a person wants to use their insurance for any type of treatment, they are encouraged to contact the insurance provider because out-of-network benefits may vary.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs offer clients in addiction recovery a robust continuum of care after clients have completed active treatment. These services address recovery as a life-long process and are designed to evolve with clients' changing needs. Clients may partner with their case managers and/or addiction recovery team to identify the rehab aftercare services that are right for them. They may receive career counseling, housing assistance, peer coaching, 12 step program induction, among many other services.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
When addicted, quitting your drug of choice suddenly can be dangerous. That's why experts agree a medically assisted detox is the safest way to remove addictive substances from the body. Usually done in an inpatient setting, your vitals signs and overall well being are consistently monitored and rechecked in order to keep you safe and ensure the detox is successful.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Recreational therapy is included in alcohol and drug addiction treatment to focus on engaging you in healthy activities that reduce your cravings and improve your overall health and well being. When you participate in group sports, art, or nature walks, you develop new interests and find a meaningful way to spend your time and reduce your cravings.

Worst rehab ever the staff is horrible, make sure you keep track of your money there. Everyone is either straight out of jail or homeless. 4 deaths this year RIP Matt, Devin, Richard, Shane. Every comment on their page is from people that work there They offer no counciling or help. I'm surprised the health department hasn't shut them down rats running everywhere. They will tell you your in a good place until they get your money then you will be working on their ranch. Ask what kind of counciling they offer how many meetings that aren't Bible studies. They put you to work working for local residents.

Response from the owner2 years ago
We are sorry the program didn't work for you Trent. You are correct, some of our resident (not all) come from jail and some (not all) have been homeless. We try to give everyone a chance to obtain recovery. No one in recovery is better than another. It should be noted we are here for any and everyone who has a sincere desire to be set free from drug and or alcohol addiction. All of the reviews here have been left by former residents or their families. We do have bible studies, recovery meetings as well as wonderful, caring teachers. We get inspected regularly and maintain a clean house. We are very happy with our" back to work program "in which local contractors as well as community members hire our men to provide them an income source. We invite anyone to come and see our program for themselves. We hope you have success in your recovery.

I lived a life full of guilt and shame. I couldn't pull myself out of drug addiction and the streets. Then I came to Restoration Ranch, and they welcomed me with open arms, a warm bed, three meals a day and a place where I can come to and be around good people who are just like me. This place saved my life and the LORD GOD freed me from the pain and struggle of drug addiction. This place is amazing and I definitely recommend to whoever wants a second chance at a good and happy life.

I have been to quite a few different programs and I can honestly say this is the best, for me. I have been asked which program is the best to go to and my answer is always the one that works... I have been here just over six months and I truly believe it is working. I have made leaps and bounds of progress in my life over the last six months. I have been given the opportunity to rekindle my relationship with God. I have had full-time work since arriving and have recently purchased a new car... All this after arriving from jail with nothing but the clothes on my back. Thank you Brian, Ms.T, Danny, and everyone else at the ranch. You all have helped me and allowed me to save my life.

Response from the owner2 years ago
