Medical briefcase icon Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

aftercare iconAftercare

Rehab aftercare programs offer customized, wraparound support for clients in the maintenance phase of recovery. Many clients enroll in drug rehab immediately after completing intensive inpatient or residential care. Services encompass outpatient treatment but often extend long beyond the completion of a formal recovery program and typically include a variety of medical, mental health, and social service programs. Peer coaching, relapse prevention, 12 step program induction, and related services are commonly available.

12-step icon12-Step

Recovery models based on 12 step programs feature extensive peer coaching and emphasize personal growth as a key to sustained sobriety. Regular attendance at 12 step meetings, which are anonymous, free, and available daily, is expected. The 12 steps of recovery are based on spiritual principles and support participants in addressing the root causes of their disease, accept responsibility for their choices, and accept that which is beyond their control. Self-selected sponsors provide one-one-mentoring.

sober-living iconSober Living Homes

A sober living home offers a supportive environment where individuals in recovery provide mutual support as they share household responsibilities. Residents participate in 12-step programs and offer accountability for sobriety. To remain in men's or women's sober living, individuals must remain drug and alcohol-free, contribute to chores, attend support group meetings, and help cover expenses to live in the home.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

A partial hospitalization program (PHP), also known as day treatment, allows you to receive rehab-level care while living at home. PHP treatment requires a minimum of 20 hours of treatment each week for an average of 90 days. PHP treatment plans can vary depending on your needs but typically includes relapse prevention, medication management, and evidence-based therapies, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). Most insurance providers fully or partially cover PHP treatment.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Medically supervised detox is the process of removing addictive substances from your body and managing the withdrawal symptoms in a medically supervised environment. Typically, this is the first step in the recovery process and lasts an average of 5-7 days, though the length can vary depending on your individual needs. Once your system is cleared of alcohol and drugs, you'll likely transition to an inpatient treatment program for the next phase of your recovery.

check iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

mental-health iconMental Health and Substance Abuse

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

inpatient-file iconCognitive Behavioral Therapy

During cognitive behavioral therapy in Massachusetts, clients work with a trained counselor to identify negative thinking patterns and change them. This change in thinking has been shown to lead to changes in behavior to treat substance use and mental health disorders effectively.

dialectical iconDialectical Behavior Therapy

If you are experiencing intense, negative emotions, dialectical behavior therapy can help you learn how to regulate painful emotions and manage the interpersonal situations that generate them. This method is often used during substance use treatment in Massachusetts to help you develop better coping skills and avoid relapse.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

Therapists in Massachusetts offer individual therapy in a confidential setting to help you explore the complex factors that have contributed to your drug addiction. Using a tailored approach, your therapist supports you and utilizes evidence based treatment modalities to help you develop healthier thought patterns and behaviors. This builds a foundation for enduring sobriety.

desert iconMotivational Interviewing

Four principles are key to motivational interviewing in Massachusetts. First, the therapist offers empathy for the client's feelings and experiences. Second, they encourage the client to believe in themselves and their ability to change. Third, the therapist refrains from imposing their own viewpoints. Lastly, the therapist helps the client identify discrepancies in their circumstances and future goals.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

Trauma therapy addresses the psychological impact of experiencing a traumatic event. You can also experience mental and emotional injury after witnessing a trauma. By identifying what triggers those responses and developing effective coping mechanisms, you can rebuild a sense of safety and trust in your environment.

eye-movement iconEye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) helps you to integrate traumatic memories from an event you may have witnessed or experienced by using an eight phase protocol to reduce the intensity of the emotional response. Your therapist ensures you work in a safe environment and may use relaxation techniques to help you prepare.

family iconFamily Therapy

During family therapy, the therapist works with every member of the family unit to understand the role they play in their loved one's addiction. By addressing these patterns, family members learn healthier ways to interact with each other and contribute to a more effective recovery journey for the family member who is addicted.

art-brush iconCreative Arts Therapy

If you find it difficult to put thoughts and feelings into words, creative arts therapy in Massachusetts might be a good treatment method for you. Through art, music, and other expressive activities, this therapy allows you to explore and convey thoughts and emotions in a safe, creative space.

Resilience Behavioral Health is a superior program. The staff made a stressful situation comfortable to attend from start to finish. The staff made me feel welcomed, and treated me with more respect than expected. From teaching about addiction, group therapy to individual therapy sessions I m more confident in my sobriety. I would have no hesitation to recommend Resilience to friends or family. I can say they are ahead of any other facilities available.

Great program. Consistent individuals therapy as well as group therapy and the facilitators provide the opportunity to cover any pressing issues during group. You will only get what you put on st this facility. My only complaint is I am tired of Big Y as they cater lunch every day.

While no program is absolutely perfect, I give Resilience Behavioral Health five stars because, with the staff s help, after eight months, I have altered from what my therapist referred to me as, The most anxious girl [she s] ever met to now being someone who is able to regulate her emotions and enjoy life and the people around her. My friends and family have gleefully remarked about how much I have improved. In fact, my mom confidently stated that she thinks my participation in this program is one of the best decisions I have ever made, and I can t lie. I agree with her. Previously, I was so miserable: I struggled to enjoy the little things and pitied and loathed myself. Now, I genuinely love myself. A lot. More than I ever have. Additionally, I find it easier to take responsibility for my actions and behavior.Back in October 2023, at 18 years old during my gap year and fresh out of high school, in an act of desperation, I googled mental hospitals near me (not realizing that outpatient programs are a thing). And there it was: Resilience Behavioral Health. Rather quickly, a kind stranger named Jason answered the phone. The fact that I was able to come in merely two days after calling is incredible, as, typically, most programs are backed up and have a waitlist.I was not expecting to make friends. At all. However, to my disbelief, I befriended folks of all different ages and backgrounds. Because I was the youngest in the program, many took me under their wing and offered me perspectives that had, initially, been out of my grasp. I learned so much about the world and was offered important wake up calls about life that I needed to hear after having spent so much time inside a protective, homogeneous suburban bubble.Last year, I decided to take my gap year because I felt unprepared to go to college. I had zero academic motivation, and I distorted every interaction I had with people into being proof that I am unlovable and too much. Fast forward, I just completed my first week of college! I have never felt so academically motivated and confident in my intelligence, ability to care for myself, and lovability. For example, I am able to push myself to go to the dining hall when I, instead, would rather stay in my room and rot. In other words, I am not socially isolating! I am making friends but also treasure the moments I have to myself. Thank you so incredibly much to the Resilience Behavioral Health team for helping me take back control over my life. I am excited to continue improving throughout the future of my therapeutic journey, as there is always more work to be done!

Everyone employed at the program was wonderful. They were all extremely helpful and caring. However I feel like the program lacks adequate solutions to interpersonal conflict. I was essentially run out of the room I was in by one person. Their comfort was prioritized over mine and ultimately as a result I felt profoundly unsafe to continue my treatment at Resilience.

Response from the owner2 months ago
Thank you for the feedback Andrew! We apologize you feel that way and would love to talk to you more about how we could have improved your experience!
