About Ready, Willing & Able

Ready, Willing & Able provides transitional work, occupational training, housing and support services for homeless individuals. The program aims to break the cycles of homelessness, addiction, and criminal recidivism that can devastate families and our communities. Ready, Willing & Able is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Ready, Willing & Able is a nonprofit organization that provides a holistic, structured environment for homeless and formerly incarcerated individuals to regain power over their lives and become productive members of society again. Not only do they rebuild lives, but they also revitalize their city. Their “men in blue” work every day to keep Philadelphia clean, while they build better futures for themselves and their families.

Education is a huge component of success in any person’s life, and even more so for those at Ready, Willing & Able (RWA). They are each given the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) to assess them and provide tailored occupational and educational services.

Substance abuse can sabotage even the best-laid plans. All Ready, Willing & Able (RWA) trainees must be drug and alcohol-free, without exception, and are randomly drug tested twice a week. These tests remind trainees that they have made a choice to pursue a better life and they must stay clean to succeed.

Of all the places my husband has been to this was the best no doubt!!! A lot of places treat addicts with such disrespect, like they're nobody, but this place treated my husband with respect and compassion. My husband was always well fed and was given the opportunity to work and help others. He just recently left because of personal reasons but he can't say enough how great this place is as well as the staff and security... We are so grateful for the love and support shown to him. Josue really miss you guys

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient rehabs specialize in providing comprehensive care for clients who choose to remain in their homes and communities during treatment. Their services may include transitional support for clients stepping down from intensive inpatient programming. Ambulatory medical detox may be provided for clients at low risk for withdrawal complications. Many programs include evening, night, and weekend services to accommodate clients who are working professionals or caregivers. Addiction counseling and life skills training are common treatment modalities.
inpatient iconInpatient
Inpatient rehab provides clients with an opportunity to focus solely on their sobriety away from the stressors of the home and workplace. Clients receive housing, food, and intensive clinical supervision. They also typically engage in multiple addiction counseling sessions each week, including daily individual, group, and/or family sessions. Most programs also prioritize recovery-focused life skills training, including courses in relapse prevention. Many facilities offer evidence-based holistic therapies, such as yoga and meditation.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Clients receiving services from a rehab aftercare program are usually stable and in the maintenance phase of recovery, having completed detox and/or intensive inpatient treatment. Rehab aftercare services can vary widely based on clients' individual and evolving needs, but often include peer coaching, relapse prevention support, 12 step program induction, and medical, mental health, and social service referrals. Individual care plans are typically developed by the client in partnership with their case manager and care team.
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
Sober Living Houses (SLHs), aka sober homes or halfway houses, are safe, substance-free, supportive living facilities for those recovering from substance abuse. Ideal for those who've just been through inpatient or outpatient treatment, SLHs are supervised environments with rules that support sobriety, such as curfews, shared chores, and therapeutic meetings. Residents are also often trained on life skills and coping skills to make it easier to transition into society. SLHs also provide a strong sense of community that can lead to the kind of deep and lasting connections with other sober individuals that supports a new, healthy lifestyle.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
A medical detox is the safest way to wean your body off drugs and/or alcohol in an inpatient setting. When detoxing from addictive substances, the physical and psychological side effects of withdrawal can cause mood swings, anxiety, nausea, or flu-like symptoms. In medically assisted detox, a team of medical professionals are on hand 24/7 to help alleviate potential withdrawal symptoms, administer medications to alleviate withdrawal symptoms, and ultimately keep you safe and comfortable throughout this process.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Pennsylvania is devoted to the treatment of addiction. Levels of care, treatment methods, and settings differ, but the aim of each program is to end drug dependency and empower participants to achieve long-term recovery.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Anyone trying to recover from drugs and/or alcohol........go somewhere else. I recently lived here. As a person, I've learned 2 things.......... when having a conversation with ANYBODY, I've learn to read them while they're talking to me. Secondly, I've learned to trust only myself and God. That being said, I entered this place with those 2 things in mind: "trusting myself and God ONLY," and "read and study each person as they're talking to me." The 3 beautiful things here we're: An African American female staffer whom I'll call Miss R, the fact that I had a roof over my head, and the fact that I had a job here. Also, I cared for 2 African American male guards at the front desk. But everyone and everything else here is bad. We all mess up but I hated the fact that the people who were teaching us to be clean were themselves STILL getting high and/or drunk. Also, the same teachers admitted to recently stealing from stores. Also, the staff here care only about the money. That's why they ask you to move in quickly. Also, the fact that about 100 addicts live here at the same time bad. This place is no help. My ideal place for addicts is any place where about 15 guys move in and get help for one year. And then they're each released to their own apartment with help in case they still need it With few men, they can be helped on a deep level. Please come here last.

They wait for u To do something improperly and then chop u down and call it part of the training process. They have un trained people in charge of new comers and blame u for not knowing. You have to teach first and then correct people in a professional manner and not getting in people face. Further more they say they take parolees but won't sign there paper for approvalso that they can stay there.. How does that help?
