About Range Mental Health Center

The Range Mental Health Center in Virginia, Minnesota, can help you navigate addiction recovery. This center specializes in mental healthcare, but it also treats those with addiction through its detox, inpatient and outpatient chemical dependency programs.

Their detox program is designed to provide a safe and secure environment. You can expect 24 hour clinically monitored short term stabilization. This service can give you the push you need to achieve recovery quickly so that you can then work on long term sobriety in the inpatient or outpatient programs. The detox program typically only lasts one to five days, and you’ll have access to a care coordinator to help you find further treatment.

Should you decide you need inpatient care, their staff is readily available for all your needs, including interventions, assessments and educational presentations. You’ll also get a customized treatment plan. This plan will help you clearly define your recovery goals and determine the appropriate aftercare you need to maintain sobriety.

If this center sounds like the place you want to be to receive drug rehab treatment, you might want to check if your insurance is accepted. Currently, the center accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield TRICARE, PrimeWest, and UCare. Many others are accepted, so be sure to find out before you enroll in treatment. If you do not have insurance, you will be relieved to learn that they can work with you to create payment options that suit your financial needs.

These places depend largely on quality of staff. Some were outstanding, others at the opposite end of spectrum. Overshadowing all of it was a Medical Director who is without brains as much as they don't come. An ultra sensitivity body to medications, 25 years ago a brilliant psychiatrist & I worked up a combination of 2 medications to work after a hysterectomy which was botched by the surgeon, left me with some brain damage that's progressive and depression. This Director would not allow me to take one of the meds at all, had to previously fight w/ her for others; The upshot was, I had to leave after 4 days. In healthy years, I have worked in the field of substance abuse, side by side with some of top addictionologists in country. All I know is the bottom line when meeting a new doctor is, "You never change previous meds until they get to know you". Whomever this woman is trying to impress, she caused me to leave a place I very much needed to be in at the time. In final mention, there were a whole lot of new staff from recent turnover. The older ones complained not only of that but the Medical Director as well. Is it always about money or will it ever come back to genuinely caring?

Range Treatment Center is definitely the place to go to on the Iron Range for inpatient treatment! I am even extremely impressed with how well they immediately accommodated my food allergies! Being able to eat properly definitely makes a difference in how much someone recovers after addiction! The staff here is amazing & the facility being nonprofit makes it obvious to how they do everything that they can to help each & every person who comes in! Being a smaller facility it's easier for them to be more focused on each person's plan for successful rehabilitation! I am very pleased with this place & absolutely recommend it to anyone that is in need of this kind of assistance to help make life better for themselves! I originally went to another place but ended up transferring to Range. THANK YOU VERY MUCH TO THE STAFF & COUNSELORS HERE! I APPRECIATE EVERYTHING! I definitely look forward to continuing with outpatient programming & the future I have ahead of me because of your time & effort!

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs provide robust, wraparound care for clients who have completed detox and/or intensive inpatient rehab. Their services may vary widely, but typically include peer coaching, relapse prevention support, 12 step program induction, career counseling, and related community reintegration services. The client's case manager and recovery team coordinates with the client to identify the rehab aftercare services they need to promote their sustained sobriety.
12-step icon12-Step
12 step programs support long-term recovery through personal growth. Participants are expected to regularly attend 12 step meetings, which are free, anonymous, and accessible 365 days per year in most communities. They are also mentored by self-selected sponsors who help guide them through the steps of recovery, which are rooted in spiritual principles and designed to foster self-awareness, forgiveness, accountability, and acceptance. Religious affiliation is not required and specialized formats, including age and gender specific meetings, are available.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

I wanted to trust this place but sadly after my second time here after years of not going there clearly nothings changed. Same mistakes all the time that are costly and detrimental. Act like they care but do they. Because of there neglect or whatever it is I am now without medication even though they said it was faxed. Well it was not apparently they either don't care or just lazy I dont know. Don't go here. Save yourself the heartache
