Wow. What can I say about Traditions? Some of the staff are caring and helpful. Most of them suck. They treat you like a sub class human. If you re considering going here for treatment - I don t recommend it. It felt like being in prison. One of the worst experiences I ve had. The rules change daily. They paint a picture of a great place on the telephone interview. Lies. Staff is unwilling to listen to the concerns of the clients and they ignore filed grievances. At least 4 women ended up in a mental hospital while I was here. They punish the entire house if one person messes up. Food is rationed and taken away as punishment for misbehavior. Stealing is common despite cameras all over the house. There is no clear plan to help you with the next phase once you leave here. Counselors who work there said it s not their responsibility to help you plan the next phase after treatment. No time is allowed for housing and job searches. They take that ability away whenever they feel like it. If you complain they tell you the doors aren t locked - just leave. Such high churn with clients. I don t have enough bad things I can share about this halfway house.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
Transitioning from an addiction recovery program into normal life can be challenging for some individuals. Often the next step in treatment after a residential program, halfway houses gives men and women the support and structure required to be successful upon returning to their communities, jobs, and families. Halfway house residents build a recovery support network while obtaining part-time employment, engaging in volunteer activities, and pursuing educational opportunities. They are also required to complete basic household chores and minor outdoor maintenance.
12-step icon12-Step
Their inpatient residential treatment programs rely on the 12-step philosophy as an integral part of recovery. Clients attend Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous as part of their treatment regimen. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Encouraging continued specialty treatment care after a stay in a residential facility, or providing resources that promote sustained sobriety, can be key in helping a client successfully achieve abstinence. In order to give their clients the best possible chance at remaining sober, they offer aftercare programs that provide some structure, oversight, and planning post-treatment. They consider client wants and needs when making arrangements for aftercare. If the client was part of a residential program, staff may recommend that they step down into an intensive outpatient, outpatient, or partial hospitalization program to continue specialty treatment. Other aftercare options include halfway or transitional housing.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Pennsylvania is devoted to the treatment of addiction. Levels of care, treatment methods, and settings differ, but the aim of each program is to end drug dependency and empower participants to achieve long-term recovery.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Family involvement can be critical to a client’s success during and after treatment. Pyramid Healthcare has developed a family program designed to educate the client’s family members about the disease of addiction. This program helps both the individual in specialty treatment and their family learn skills and develop behaviors effective in minimizing the negative impact of the addiction on the familial relationship. Their family program can also open lines of communication between the client and their family members. Pyramid Healthcare counselors can provide family counseling if it is requested by the client.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Training courses are offered three times a week to promote client self-sufficiency and responsible living with guidance and instruction on topics including financial and stress management, communication and coping skills, goal setting, problem solving, volunteerism, social etiquette, and the appropriate utilization of community resources.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

I feel the entire experience was based solely on my inability to gain a connection with my counselor and not being allowed to switch counselors. I feel this conflict of personality (including her lack of experience in recovery) robbed me of my ability to grow and learn throughout this program entirely, from it's beginning continuing on relentlessly through to my day of discharge. This included but was not limited to my counselor falsely reporting my "dishonesty" day one simply due to me physically arriving before my paperwork/ case history to my inability to receive my coin out (no coin initially found) or certificate (lacked computer program) on my morning of discharge. I walked away blessed to have gained a stronger sense of powerlessness and patience. Nothing else.

This place changes up on you at the last minute for no reason and discharges you unsuccessfully without even giving you a reason!!! Even when you are not on any contracts. And no behavioral issues have been brought to your attention during your entire treatment there!!!!

Holy Cow, The women who run this place are absolutely heartless and uncaring. More concerned with protocol, they forget love, heart and who you are or need to be as a person. They care not to put you out on the street for no reason, and won t even give you a chance to honestly state your experience. Weather you are up or down, who you are as a woman, a soul, or a recovering human being plays zero part in their decision process. Do NOT come here if you need genuine care for trauma, woman s needs or a voice. They literally have no genuine care for your heart, your sensitivities or who or what you are in your journey forward. Blessed are them who can rise above. Do not allow this institution to break your spirit. You ARE worth more.
